Goodies, tips, and tricks

Put Babel boxes on your user page so others know what languages you can speak and indicate your graphic abilities.
You can find the files you have uploaded in your Uploads.
Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~.
To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg.
You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account.
There are several tools to upload files.
Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful.

Made a mistake?

Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it.
Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Tag it as {{speedy|reason here}}. For more information read the deletion guidelines.

Photographs

Hi Melanostomias! Thanks for your contributions. From your Wikipedia profile I do not doubt your copyright of the majority of images you've posted, but note that if they have been previously published without a free license, (e.g. in non-open-access journals), Commons needs proof of consent, which is demonstrated by sending a declaration of consent to permissions-commons@wikimedia.org as, described at Commons:OTRS. Note however that in the case of File:Fig. 3.Singer & Page.jpg, where one of the images is credited to "Steve Grant", he would be the copyright holder of that particular photograph, and his permission would be needed as well. Furthermore, unless you yourself created File:Idigbio og.png, you would need to include official permission from idigbio that the image may be freely used. I will do this ASAP. I do not mean for the images to be CC for the ones credited to Steve Grant. The rest howver are CC because I wish for them to be used for education, outreach and shared! Melanostomias
