Thanks for uploading File:AlanizDurham91.png. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.

Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own).

The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:AlanizDurham91.png]]) and the above demanded information in your request.

"Own work"

[edit]

You seem to have uploaded a number of images as "own work" that rather clearly cannot all actually be your own work. I suspect that some (all?) of these are fine in copyright terms and the correct licenses could be given but (just as an example) you have effectively claimed that File:Heididurham.png is your own work and that you as the copyright-holder are granting a license on it. At the same time, you are saying that Labor Archives of Washington, University of Washington Special Collections owns the copyright (and since institutional accounts are not allowed, that cannot be you), and that the copyright passed to them from the FSP, without explaining how copyright passed from the photographer to the FSP. I'd like to discuss this with you, rather than just nominate these for deletion, but you don't seem to have attached an email to this account, and have not been active in several months, so I am not sure this page is being monitored. I'll also try to contact the archive, if I can work out a way to do that. - Jmabel ! talk 03:22, 25 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I was trying to upload it on behalf of the Labor Archives. I can delete it if need be. LaborArchWAStudentConor (talk) 18:28, 4 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No, as I say, I don't want them deleted, I'd just like to get the correct attribution and licensing on these. Can you please work with me on this?
It would be very helpful if you would add an email to your account, so that you get notified when someone writes to your talk page (and maybe if you are mentioned in a discussion). At Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-echo you can easily set it up so that you don't get email notifications for anything less directly involving you. - Jmabel ! talk 20:43, 4 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The Labor Archives has deed of gift forms that show we hold the copyright over the images from our collections. Would that be sufficient to solving this issue? Thank you for being willing to work through this. Mathieulalie (talk) 21:00, 4 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That would be great! If copies of those could be sent to permissions-commons@wikimedia.org (which handles confidential correspondence) with an indication of what permissions apply to what photos, that would completely solve this. I'd appreciate being cc'd, but (again, because you apparently either have not attached an email address to this account or have opted not to allow people to mail you) I have no confidential way to send you my email address. This site is "scraped" enough by spambots that I really don't want to post it here. You can find it at the bottom of http://joemabel.com/, and I guess I'll just hope the spambots aren't smart enough to make use of that information. - Jmabel ! talk 21:35, 4 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, not sure why you can't see my email but I will send the forms. It may take a few days because I need to get them from my supervisor and they are currently out sick. I have your email address saved so you can take it down if you'd like to avoid spam bots. Mathieulalie (talk) 23:18, 4 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Mathieulalie: Your email I can see. I didn't notice that I'd changed interlocutors. - Jmabel ! talk 05:23, 5 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, I wanted to let you know that I just emailed the deed of gift forms. Please let me know if there is anything else I need to do! Mathieulalie (talk) 22:55, 5 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@GPSLeo: please see prior section here. It looks like this is moving forward. I'd appreciate if this did not move toward a speedy delete. - Jmabel ! talk 20:40, 5 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
File:TylerJerry.png has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!
