thank you for your excellent effort to solve my problem. --PRS 18:03, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for creating Miszabot
Hi, and thanks for creating your bot Miszabot. I wonder, though, why it is creating linebreaks after section titles. What is the point? There is no difference in the resulting displayed page, anyway. Thanks again! — Jeff G. 20:57, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, there isn't. But when newlines are normalized (i.e. there is always one preceeding and one following the header), they are slightly easier to locate in the page's source. From my experience on en.wiki, this proves helpful on large discussion pages, so I have included it as a standard feature. Миша13 21:01, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
Congratulations! It has bot status now. --EugeneZelenko 14:14, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
Taking over for Werdnabot
Hi. Thank you again for MiszaBot! Since it has been doing such a great job archiving the pages I pay attention to, would you please consider having MiszaBot or one of your other bots take over the duties of Werdnabot, both here and on other projects where Werdnabot was used? See also Commons:Bots/Requests#Archival. Thanks! — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 16:23, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
- MiszaBot has commons covered (as explained in the thread above). As for takeover on other wikis, the problem is twofold:
- I don't have enough time recently to play with my bot (and setting up an archiver on a new site takes more effort than it seems).
- It's not quite ready to work on non-english 'pedias - locale issues need some extra developer time (as for free time, see 1.)
- Миша13 16:50, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
- OK, maybe Commons is covered (with one exception Commons:Photography critiques, can we please get a key for that?), but have you seen http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Whatlinkshere/User:Werdnabot/Archiver/Linkhere lately? — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 10:47, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
- Photography critiques page is archived too, although the bot doesn't handle mixing of threads on different header levels well (it will basically treat the =first level= headings as contents of regular ones - not easy to provide a code fix for this - which may result in quite a mess in the archives). On enwiki, the job of Werdnabot has been taken over by shadowbot3, operated by shadow42. Миша13 22:33, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
- That's great, thanks! — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 01:38, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
Saturday run and missed sections
Hi. Although MiszaBot ran here Friday, it appears not to have run here Saturday per its contribs, and it appears to have missed archival of the following sections of my user talk page here for 5-6 days:
- User talk:Jeff G.#Nomination_of_Fir0002_images_for_deletion
- User talk:Jeff G.#Gramophone_company
- User talk:Jeff G.#About_your_recent_deletion_requests
Please look into these issues. Thanks! — Jeff G. 11:32, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, I know (I think the toolserver was autoblocked yesterday). But unless it misses more than one run in a row, I ignore it - please excercise some patience in the future. Миша13 13:01, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
Code
Where is the code for the archive bot located? Best, NonvocalScream (talk) 18:01, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
- In the pywikipedia trunk, under file archivebot.py. Миша13 15:12, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
Strange behavior
Why did MiszaBot not archive more at MediaWiki talk:Gadget-HotCat.js? I wanted it to archive anything older than seven days, but it left stuff from August 2008 on the page... Did I configure it wrongly here? I also have the same problem over at MediaWiki talk:UploadForm.js, where it is not archiving rather old stuff. Why? Lupo 21:57, 29 December 2008 (UTC)
- Just a thought: does it maybe archive only pages larger than some threshold, and archive only as much as is necessary to bring the page below that threshold? That might explain it. Lupo 22:02, 29 December 2008 (UTC)
- Hm. OK, I think I got it. minthreadsleft defaults to 5, and minthreadstoarchive defaults to 2, so it'll always leave 5 or 6 threads on the page, even if they're older than seven days. Sorry for the bother. Lupo 22:06, 29 December 2008 (UTC)
Anty Achiving
Exists there a template that the Miszabot hold up to archive threads, wich aren't answerd?--Sanandros (talk) 10:23, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
- The bot treats all threads equally, answered or not. Миша13 00:11, 11 January 2009 (UTC)
Can MiszaBot run on fr.wikipedia?
Initial message: “Can MiszaBot run on fr.wikipedia?”, posted by Diti (d · c).
Hi Misza13,
Would it be possible for you to make your bot MiszaBot run on the French Wikipedia? As and when the project grows up, collaboration between contributors intensifies, and it would be useful to have a mean of archival, something that your bot can provide in a good way.
I thought about creating my own bot for that purpose, but I definitely don't have the time for that. Moreover, people (including me) seem happy with MiszaBot. Could you make it run on the French project, please?
Thank you. :) →Diti the penguin — 10:31, 5 February 2009 (UTC)
Archive bot
Hello,
could you please have a look on my talkpage? The archive bot isn't running anymore. Could you take a look and fix it please? Best regards,
Abigor talk 06:30, 10 February 2009 (UTC)
- Could you please check mine too?. The bot is not archiving at all :(. Thanks a lot and sorry for the inconveniences. Best regards, — df| 15:01, 22 June 2009 (UTC)
- en:User:MiszaBot/Archive FAQ#Q1 reason 2, perhaps? (You only have 3 threads at the moment.) Миша13 20:56, 22 June 2009 (UTC)
Spanish Café
Hi Misza13: The Spanish café has a very old threats and look the BOT didn't recognize them. Could you check it? Thanks --Arcibel (talk) 19:39, 10 September 2009 (UTC)

- Misza13: The Spanish cafe has threats since February and March... --Arcibel (talk) 19:47, 20 September 2009 (UTC)
Saludos, Dferg (talk) 19:53, 20 September 2009 (UTC)

Hi Misza. You bot transcludes an inexistent template to talk page archives. --Leyo 19:30, 12 May 2010 (UTC)
- The missing template is used by default and has been adapted from Wikipedia and installed and seems to work. If a talk pages do no use the Archive 1, Archive 2 format then then Template:Talkarchive must be used. - Stillwaterising (talk) 13:25, 19 May 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks. --Leyo 13:35, 19 May 2010 (UTC)
Archiving Problem
For some reason, your bot has been archiving pages like Commons talk:Freedom of panorama/Archive 5 like {{Archive-nav}} instead of like {{Archive-nav|5}} even though the number parameter is needed for the template to work.--Jorfer (talk) 23:11, 27 July 2010 (UTC)
- Your bot also did not create a link to archives 4 or 5 at Commons talk:Freedom of panorama.--Jorfer (talk) 23:24, 27 July 2010 (UTC)
Pre
Somehow the bot split a section that included section headers in <pre>-tags. I moved it manually [1], [2]. It's now here. As it's probably rare, it might not be worth fixing it. -- Docu at 07:57, 15 August 2010 (UTC)
Village Pump archiving
Hi, Misza. Currently at VP, the bot archives to Commons:Village_pump/Archive/2011/1, instead of Commons:Village_pump/Archive/2011/01. Think you can fix it? Rehman 00:33, 10 January 2011 (UTC)
Previous edit
Hi, thanks for your bot. Do you think it could do the same as Spbot and mention the previous edit (user, time)? See Special:Contributions/SpBot. Thanks. Rd232 (talk) 06:14, 12 November 2011 (UTC)
Archive of Commons:Café
Hi. I don´t know why Miszabot has not archive very old talks, but I can't do it because I've got no clue where to do it. Can you fix it, please? Thanks. --Andrea (talk) 23:58, 21 March 2012 (UTC)
- Miszabot will only archive sections if it finds a standard dated signature. Just sign each old section, save, and then go back and change the date to, say, 1 March. Rd232 (talk) 18:29, 23 March 2012 (UTC)
- Can't you archive them y yourself? I has for me no sense to wait any longer; some sections are there since november 2011. --Andrea (talk) 00:16, 24 March 2012 (UTC)
- OK, I did what I suggested above. MiszaBot should archive the sections today. Rd232 (talk) 09:25, 24 March 2012 (UTC)

MiszaBot: Delaying or preventing archiving of particular threads on Commons
Hi Misza13, the link how to setup your archiving bot goes to Archive HowTo on en.WP. The described Template:DNAU doesn't exist on Commons, nor Template:Do not archive until. Is it possible for you to transform this functionallity of your Bot on Commons? Kind regards, --Emha (talk) 15:22, 23 March 2012 (UTC)
Archiving error
See this edit by MiszaBot. Lots of threads were removed for archival, but it seems that nothing was added to an archive. Something looks wrong. --Stefan4 (talk) 23:48, 26 April 2012 (UTC)
- The previous edit is affected as well, 70k discussion gone into nirvana. --Denniss (talk) 23:12, 27 April 2012 (UTC)
- It's the result of wikipediareview.com and wikipediocracy.com being on MediaWiki:Spam-blacklist from April 14 to May 12. --Michaeldsuarez (talk) 02:06, 16 June 2012 (UTC)

Misza Archive Bot: Removed part of unrelated section
MiszaBot removed a part of the last section. The removed comment was not added to the archive. I guess it simply overwrote my edit which was done the same time. -- RE rillke questions? 06:46, 20 June 2012 (UTC)
Archivage en français ...
Bonjour. Je ne sais pas quelle langue tu parles tous les jours, mais ne serait-il pas mieux que tu fasses ton archivage en français sur le Common français ??? Merci . --Llann .\m/ (Lie 2 me ...) 05:13, 23 February 2013 (UTC)
Updating the Main Page archive
Could you please switch to archiving to Archive4 for the main page? Archive3 is much, much too long. Thanks, --SJ+ 22:54, 20 July 2013 (UTC)
MiszaBot not running
Hi! I noticed that MiszaBot has been inactive since 2013-10-02. I miss it! Could you give it the necessary punt to the head to get back to work? Wild guess: the bot had its password reset just like everybody else because of the recent security breach. Cheers, —LX (talk, contribs) 17:44, 8 October 2013 (UTC)
- +1. Whatever the cause, I'll do periodic manual runs in the meantime. Regards, FASTILY 09:12, 11 October 2013 (UTC)
A cookie for you!
Thanks for getting MiszaBot up and running again. It was easy to take it for granted while it was running: I'm so glad that it is back online again. I really do appreciate it! Michael Barera (talk) 02:58, 28 October 2013 (UTC) |
MiszaBot down
Hi Misza13, MiszaBot seems to have stopped running (likely due to the WMF invalidating all session tokens per the recent OpenSSL security breach). If you have a moment, could you restart it? Thanks, FASTILY 23:12, 17 April 2014 (UTC)
ArchiveBot
Hi, I noticed you have set up User:MiszaBot to archive your talk page. Unfortunately, the bot has stopped working, and given how its operator is inactive, it is unclear when/if this will fixed. For the time being, I have volunteered to operate a MiszaBot clone (running the exact same code). With that said, your input would be appreciated at Commons:Bots/Requests/ArchiveBot 1. Regards, FASTILY 07:36, 20 April 2014 (UTC)

Add info for editors on User:MiszaBot/config
{{Edit protected}} I would be good to add the content of User:MiszaBot also in User:MiszaBot/config, wrapped in <noinclude> tag of course. Many users go to this template in order to find how to setup this archive template and not everyone would guess he can access these resources by clicking the small link on the top-right corner (< User:Misza13). --Rezonansowy (talk) 13:49, 25 February 2016 (UTC)
