Suggestion of a Set[edit]

How about doing a Set with these images instead of naming it one by one? But you have to put  I withdraw my nomination in one of the nominations (Commons:Featured picture candidates/File:Emmelie de Forest, ESC2013 press conference 12 (crop).jpg or Commons:Featured picture candidates/File:Emmelie de Forest, ESC2013 press conference 12.jpg). 1. How does it work when I nominate a set? I have created a set of over 300 photos that I want to nominate. Can people vote for separate photos in the set or will they be voting for all the photos with one vote?
2. Why do I have to withdraw my nominations?
-abbedabbdisk 18:33, 25 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
They will vote for all the photos with one vote. Users will analyze all and support or not the Set. Is allowed to have only two open nominations. More than two is not allowed. So you can only have the Set and more one nomination open. ArionEstar (talk) from Google Translate. 20:46, 25 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
So, if I want to nominate all the 850+ high quality photos from Eurovision Song Contest 2013, I would have to nominate two at a time over 850+ weeks? What if I nominate all of them and one is really bad or blurry? -abbedabbdisk 00:46, 26 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I do not know well the rules of the Set. Sorry. Talk to an user with more experience of the page Commons: Featured picture candidates. ArionEstar (talk) from Google Translate. 14:48, 26 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Pay attention to copyright
File:Babymetal - Moametal.jpg has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.

The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion. (It is not necessary to request undeletion if using VRT; the file will be automatically restored at the conclusion of the process.)

Hello Abbedabb/Archives/2014, the following content you uploaded violates one or more of our policies and therefore has been or will soon be deleted:

File:Babymetal collage 1.jpg

The Wikimedia Commons (this website) only hosts media files with a realistic educational purpose and that can be used for any purpose, including:
  • use in any work, regardless of content
  • creation of derivative works
  • commercial use
  • free distribution

See Commons:Licensing for the copyright policy on Wikimedia Commons, and Commons:Image casebook for some specific examples. Some other Wikimedia projects have different licensing policies. For example, the English Wikipedia allows fair use of sounds and photographs. This is not the case on Wikimedia Commons; "fair use" materials are not acceptable here.

Please make sure that you only upload educational content you have created yourself, those which are out of copyright, or those for which you have the required permission for the work to be used in all the ways described above. Please note that derivative works of copyrighted material are also considered copyrighted. Again, please read through Commons:Licensing, which is quite crucial, to understanding how Wikimedia Commons works. Thanks for your contribution, and please do leave me a message if you have further questions.

And also:

Yours sincerely, Hedwig in Washington (mail?) 03:29, 23 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I was asked to take part in the discussion on the deletion request page, but since the discussion was closed before I saw it, I have started a new discussion at Commons:Undeletion requests. (Ping: Hedwig in Washington, Purplewowies and LGA). -abbedabbdisk 22:47, 23 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Please understand that your comment:
"These images have been deleted because it was SUSPECTED to be copyvio. No poofs of copyvio have been presented."
has the burden of proof backwards. It is up to you, as the uploader, to prove beyond a significant doubt that the images are free, so the fact that they are suspected to be copyvios is certainly sufficient for their immediate deletion.
Commons depends on being able to trust various people. As a matter of policy, we assume that Commons editors are acting in good faith until they give us reason to doubt it, but that policy does not extend to Flickr users and other outsiders. A Flickr user who has many obvious copyvios on his site is blacklisted by Commons as a matter of course.
