Victory Day

Thank you Vizu for kind words. Happy V.-Day for you too. I was a bit surprised whith your message, because in the western part of the world, we celebrate the 8 may as Victory Day, end of war in Europe. It is due to the nocturnal signature in Berlin. It was the 8th of May in west, but already the 9th in Moscow, even if the german armies reddition was signed in Reims... the 7th !! Did you know that? (As you can see, I love History !!). I send you this medal, the "order of Liberation", allowed by Gen. De Gaulle to his "Companions for the liberation of the Homeland, in honor and independence". I noticed you've uploaded File:DPS BTR 80.JPG and I thought I should draw your attention to a common error.

  • Извините, но просто весьма долго грузятся изображения (до 5-10 минут), и когда появляется скорость интернета, я гружу их поскорее, без описания, давая его потом. Vizu, I noticed your edit here with the question "why?". The purpose of the edit was to bring the template to use standards outlined in the {{Creator/doc}}. Creator templates are meant to be small so they look properly when inserted into images and categories. I changed:

  • Nationality from "RU, USSR" to "RU". Please check documentation at {{Creator/doc}} for allowed values and required format. Also this is "nationality" which is independent of the current name of the country, or the fact that RU become USSR does not mean that all citizens changed nationality. Alternatively we could use "RU/soviet" code there which will be parsed and translated into user languages.
  • I also removed {{En}}, {{Ru}} templates from the city names as is documented at {{Creator/doc}}. Commons supports over 300 languages translation to every language is not possible and quickly becomes unreadable. Also use of {{City}}, {{LangSwitch}} and country templates like {{Russian Empire}}, allow translation on the fly to the language of the user and provide links for further invstigation.
  • I changed Workloc to {{Russia}}, since It does not seem like the painter moved only country was changing names. Also names DKR, UNR, White Russia, UkrSSR, RSFSR are not widely known you might be better off listing the cities while using {{City}} template as most other creator templates do that go into work location details. This section should not use templates like {{En}} but rely on templates listed in the documentation
  • finally "Homecat = Nikolai Samokish|Samokish' does not do anything and is confusing

I will fix the template again. If you want to feel free to list cities and dates in Workloc, but the rest should stay as it was. Hope that explains it. Greetings --Jarekt (talk) 20:47, 2 September 2011 (UTC)

About the categories you deleted in some pictures

Hi Vizu, I don't understand your changes of categories.

  • Добрый день. Потому что у меня нет скана всех страниц книги. Есть не более 40-45 процентов. Кроме того, в книге нумерация страниц не сплошная, а в трёх разделах своя. Основы геральдики - одна нумерация. Исторический очерк - другая. Самый большой раздел - это, понятно, алфавитный действующих гербов городов и посадов - третья. Гербы областей и губерний - прололжение третьей нумерации. Гербы деревень и бывших городов - ещё продолжение. Титульные листы и предисловие не нумерованы.   • В источнике автор не указан. Вероятно, это ТАСС (без указания автора). У вас же нет доказательств того, что автор хоть кому-то известен? Защита АП неизвестного фотокорреспондента на госслужбе (другой не было), с предположением, что он пережил войну и умер после 1943 года, при этом он нигде не указан и установить его не представляется возможным, - это допущение на допущении в отношении неизвестно кого.
