Picture of the Year voting round 1 open

Dear Wikimedians,

Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the 2012 Picture of the Year competition is now open. We're interested in your opinion as to which images qualify to be the Picture of the Year for 2012. Voting is open to established Wikimedia users who meet the following criteria:

1. Users must have an account, at any Wikimedia project, which was registered before Tue, 01 Jan 2013 00:00:00 +0000 [UTC].
2. This user account must have more than 75 edits on any single Wikimedia project before Tue, 01 Jan 2013 00:00:00 +0000 [UTC]. Please check your account eligibility at the POTY 2012 Contest Eligibility tool.
3. Users must vote with an account meeting the above requirements either on Commons or another SUL-related Wikimedia project (for other Wikimedia projects, the account must be attached to the user's Commons account through SUL).

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year are all entered in this competition. From professional animal and plant shots to breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historically relevant images, images portraying the world's best architecture, maps, emblems, diagrams created with the most modern technology, and impressive human portraits, Commons features pictures of all flavors.

For your convenience, we have sorted the images into topic categories. Two rounds of voting will be held: In the first round, you can vote for as many images as you like. The first round category winners and the top ten overall will then make it to the final. In the final round, when a limited number of images are left, you must decide on the one image that you want to become the Picture of the Year.

Ciao perdonami se mi permetto (e se lo metto così in evidenza) ma per favore devi assolutamente prendere visione di questa discussione, bisogna fare qualcosa altrimenti si cancelleranno moltissime immagini Commons:Bar_italiano#Campagna_di_cancellazione_per_il_NO-FOP_Italy_.28_.C3.A8_fatta_molto_male.29. Ho spiegato per bene perché le immagini non devono venir cancellate, ma l'utente né mi ascolta né partecipa alla discussione --Pava (talk) 21:39, 12 February 2013 (UTC)

Ciao Trixt, spero di non meritarmi il titolo di rompiscatole dell'anno, anche se capisco di non poter approfittare della tua disponibilità ogni volta che mi affaccio su Commons. Be', se non chiedo troppo, abbi pazienza ancora una volta e poi vedrò di lasciarti tranquillo almeno qualche mese in più. Per venire al fatto: il 14 febbraio ho caricato il file in oggetto e poi, lo stesso giorno, ho inviato a permissions-commons la relativa dichiarazione di concessione dei diritti da parte dell'autore (per la verità ne ho inviate due perché nella prima --- si era dimenticata di inserire il nome del file). --- si è anche accorta di non aver categorizzato l'immagine; credo che dovrebbe essere "Category:Writers from Italy", ma non ne sono sicura e, in ogni caso, quando ho provato a inserirla mi è venuto il dubbio se bastava aggiungerla o se dovevo anche cancellare l'Uncategorized. Infine, cosa dannazione vuol dire "subst:Please link images"? Quali immagini devo linkare? A torta finita, avresti la bontà di guardare che pasticci ho combinato questa volta? Non so se potrò mai sdebitarmi con te, ma tu ne avrai sicuramente merito nella tua prossima reincarnazione. Un saluto affettuoso e un grazie di cuore. cancellare una mia immagine

Vorrei sapere se è possibile cancellare l'immagine di cui ho appena fatto un upload, ma che preferirei eliminare e sostituire

Immagini dritte o capovolte?

Ciao Trixt. Ti chiedo aiuto, per favore, perché ho da poco caricato con una nuova app dedicata (Commons) tre foto scattate con il cellulare. Tutto facile e veloce, ma se poi clicco sulla versione ad alta risoluzione, l'immagine è capovolta. Se la apro in photoshop invece è dritta, e anche usando lo strumento 'rotazione' presente sulla pagina del file in Commons, l'icona di previsualizzazione non coincide, ossia l'immagine risulta correttamente dritta e ruotandola diventerebbe sottosopra. Ci capisci qualcosa? Grazie e scusa il disturbo. --Antonella (talk) 14:22, 13 May 2013 (UTC)

Caro Trixt, ti ringrazio della risposta, ma avevo provato a svuotare la cache e con Chrome si vedevano nel verso giusto (parlo sempre e solo dell'immagine alla massima risoluzione, tutte le altre sembrano corrette) però il caricamento è sospetto perché procede dal basso in alto, mentre con Firefox la discrepanza tra le versioni più piccole e quella più grande permane. So che lo strumento rotazione funziona, ma non so se usarlo o meno perché non capisco qual'è la versione reale: dritta o capovolta? Comunque grazie dell'aiuto e per avermi informato che si vede tutto correttamente (anche alla risoluzione massima). Un cordialissimo saluto! --Antonella (talk) 19:08, 13 May 2013 (UTC)
