Caboun (talk · contributions · Move log · block log · uploads · Abuse filter log

This user had been warned on 21 June 2017 (UTC) about behavior that continues until today. Warning back then: User talk:Caboun#Wikimedia_Commons_has_a_specific_topic.

Please also have a look at their global contributions. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 02:00, 12 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Comment I deleted some empty categories, closed speedily 3 DRs for empty galleries and nominated one file for deletion. Taivo (talk) 12:12, 14 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much, and sorry for causing unnecessary extra work by using the "Nominate for deletion" button instead of adding a speedy deletion template. The most recent edits show the same... weird... behavior as this user appears to be displaying in all other projects. They got blocked on the Czech Wikipedia, had their edits deleted* on the German Wikipedia, used the Flow Feedback tool for the new search bar on MediaWiki.org in an annoying way and created seemingly useless pages on Commons. Apart from the Czech Wikipedia, none of their actions appear to be severe and frequent enough to evoke local blocks. The behavior is also not unambiguously destructive, avoiding a global lock as well. I'd say their annoyances wouldn't be missed by anyone, but that's not a valid blocking reason. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

✓ Done This looks like a troll account. I can see no useful contributions. Deletion request for their files, I will revert the nonsense changes now. Sebari – aka Srittau (talk) 09:24, 20 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Please protect the page as an IP repeatedly vandalism over there. Thanks--PANKAJ DEO (talk) 11:58, 15 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Comment Only one vandal, now blocked, so protection isn't really appropriate just yet. If it recurs, I'll semiprotect. Rodhullandemu (talk) 12:05, 15 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Requested updates to protected images

Hi,

I try to get some attention about some requests on a page not often visited: Commons:Requested updates to protected images. The 13 files uploaded correct 13 invalid SVG protected files. For the first four, where the description page is also protected, a change in the description is also requested – see the Discussion page.

Another possibility: maybe you can deprotect these files (or some) and so I could do this myself?

Thank for your help! Thomas Linard (talk) 14:57, 18 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Landon Pigg copyvio image sockpuppetry

There appears to be some kind of sockpuppetry involved on users trying to update Landon Pigg's image on his enwiki article. These users are trying to add, specifically, this image from Facebook. Ascentmm added it first, then it was copyvio tagged by Secondarywaltz and removed. He reuploaded it, and was removed again, pointing to the same source. Then, almost a month later, a brand new user, Coriannakox, came out of nowhere and reuploaded the image claiming it's his own work, even though it had appeared on multiple websites without any elaboration of who actually took the photo. He had uploaded this 3 times, with varying EXIF tags and their checksums, which makes me wonder if they're intentionally forged to make it look like Coriannakox "took" them. This violates #3 and #6, assuming that Commons's policy on sockpuppets is the same as the English Wikipedia ones; using multiple accounts to circumvent policies and an undisclosed multiple accounts uploading the same image and adding it there to Pigg's article. theinstantmatrix (talk) 11:11, 19 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

✓ Done Blocked both accounts for abusing multiple accounts. Sebari – aka Srittau (talk) 09:37, 20 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The iNipponese Dog

I strongly suspect that this is Jason Lin, note that this account is also blocked on the Japanese Wikipedia as a KAGE sockpuppet. --Donald Trung 『徵國單』 (No Fake News 💬) (WikiProject Numismatics 💴) (Articles 📚) 20:59, 19 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Please also look at their uploads, although I would be against deleting them as many are of notable human rights advocates that could be very useful. And I don't think that any of them are copyright violations. --Donald Trung 『徵國單』 (No Fake News 💬) (WikiProject Numismatics 💴) (Articles 📚) 06:04, 20 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
