Flag duplicates

Hey! In 2016, you deleted File:Rusia (Serarped).png because it was a redundant, stylized version of the Russian flag. The same file was recently re-uploaded with lower quality under File:Rusia (Serarped).png.jpg, as well as the related File:Mónaco (Serarped).png and File:Unknown Flag.jpg. Could you delete all of them for the same reason as before? The original uploader from 2014 (Serarped) also has a lot of similar files that you might want to take care of. matchcover deletion revert

That was just the somewhat meaningless retailer's name. 100s of retailers ordered the covers from the main company, with their name put on them. This uploader was uploading a hundred plus files a day, sometimes w/o rhyme or reason, and usually with inaccurate detail in the "info section." The categories stated are impossible to verify without a lot of detective work on this 45% cover JimPercy (talk) 14:38, 4 January 2021 (UTC)

File:1922 - Fisk Tire - Matchcover - Allentown PA.jpg has text "Smiles & service greet you!". The proposed replacement file has instead text "Pennico products are you friendly servant". Doubt

Happy New Year @Taivo: I have some doubt regarding a file. I tagged this File:Ale Medina noviembre 2020.jpg as F10 as the upload was from new editor and google ris was not showing any hits, while I tagged the file, I remember it was not used in any wiki. But today I check the file on google and I get hits available, so if the file is taken in November (as described in filename, theirs no mention of it in exif data). The exif data shows something like Photoshop, and it seems fishy to me. The image appears on Spotify streaming services see here. Thanks --C1K98V (💬 ✒️ 📂) 10:13, 8 January 2021 (UTC)

Categories for art

Hi Taivo. You have removed a number of empty categories, for instance, Category:1876 paintings by Laurits Tuxen. That is maintenance, so it should be fine. However, some of those categories were empty because User:Ruff tuff cream puff had emptied them without prior discussion. Please read the item on his discussion page, "Your recent edits of art categories", dated January 9, 2021. The two concept designs were taken from a film at the location. I wasn't sure on those 2 how to license them. This is not one image of 500. This is your only image, nominated for regular deletion in 28th of February. But, yes, I forgot your protest in AN, although I read it. Fortunately this is question of only 1 file and I can restore it, if you have a source. The source is the government institution EDTL, E.P (I do not know, which of these photos is the deleted one. I got it via the "Serviços Relações Públicas", which are controlling EDTL. As you can see in my list, the deleted image is one of the 500. --JPF (talk) 20:36, 12 March 2021 (UTC)

Please remove copyrighted material

Hello, I'm sure you misunderstood the situation. I added a copyrighted photo and wanted it to be removed since the image I added didn't belong to me in the first place. The problem isn't that cc can't be revoked. It's that I never had the authority to make it cc in the first place.

Hi, Taivo. You just deleted an empty cat that I marked with "bad name". Be careful, you are risking to be considered my meat puppet! Having said that, can you please close Commons:Deletion requests/File:Grup Yorum Istanbul 2012.jpg? It is in many places in the net, years before upload here. Just one example is under this line. Hi Taivo,

File:Electric tramway in Colombo , Sri Lanka.jpg was nominated for deletion. Following some discussion you deleted it. Linked to the same nomination was File:Colombo early 20th century.jpg which is a cropped version of File:Electric tramway in Colombo , Sri Lanka.jpg. Hi, I saw your message: here. A question: last image also comply with the free license? I did not find the image within Wikimedia Commons. @Wikiedro: You are right: one of source files is wrong. But the collage is heavily used in multiple projects and I did not want to delete it speedily. Unfortunately another collage about Viña del Mar was also copyvio and I nominated it for deletion as well. Sometimes somebody creates new version, replacing prohibited image – one week for that. Every user can demand deletion of own upload during first week after uploading. You uploaded the file on 8th of March and requested deletion on 20th of March. More than one week was passed. After that deletion is possible only due to problems with educational value or copyright. As the author died on 19th century and book was published in 1917, it is free from copyright due to age. Educational value exists as well and I categorized the file. The fact that you are identifiable is not a reason for deletion. Bytheway, I tried to find the watermark but did not find – I cannot identify you. I am ready to delete the file, if there is another version in Commons – you said, that you cannot upload such version. Taivo (talk) 17:15, 22 March 2021 (UTC)
@Taivo: Oh, I did not realize that it had been that long. Thank you for your willingness to delete that file if I uploaded another version. It took me several hours, but I figured out how to create a version without the watermark. Howdy Taivo! You marked the above photo as failing to meet license requirements, but the National Portrait Gallery issues creative commons licenses for all photos downloaded for non commercial use (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/) I'm still new to navigating license nuance. No photos with this license are allowed in Commons, please look about allowed licenses here. The photographer is Walter Stoneman (1876–1958), the photo was made in 1955. We must wait, until the copyright expires. Commons files must be free both in source country (UK) and USA. UK demands 70 years from author's death (the photo is free in 2029) and USA demands 95 years from publication (the photo is free in 2051), so the photo can be restored in 2051.
