"in" vs. "from"

This seems wrong. Although What Cheer? Brigade are from Rhode Island, not a single one of our pictures of them is in Rhode Island. - Jmabel ! talk 03:52, 24 October 2017 (UTC)

Interesting! I just spot-checked another ":Category:Marching bands in state" or two, and saw examples of bands from those places that were not performing in the locations. And the parent of them, Category:Marching bands in the United States, has as a subcat ‎Category:High school marching bands from the United States‎ and parents of Category:Musical groups from the United States and Category:Wind bands of the United States. "Of" seems like a synonym of "from", but given that "of/from" are parents and a child of "in", it doesn't look to me like "in" means the location of the performance. Phew, this was a pain to examine. I'd certainly be willing to have a wider discussion for renaming the in cat if you think that would be clearer, or to get others to help decide what was really meant. Does tiletamine-ball-and-stick-model.png now satisfy your needs?

Hi,

I would have thought you would have noticed the changes I've made to File:Tiletamine-ball-and-stick-model.png, plus my edit to its talk page and to where you notified on my talk page but apparently not so I am here to ask can we remove the disputed template from it now? If you still have a problem with it I'd like to hear some specifics on what you want, like what precise carbon colour (in RGB format preferably like 200,200,200) will meet your requirements, what adjustment in my Jmol settings you would want, etc. I can see the 3D geometry fine, so hence I would like to know what would fix it in your eyes. Thank you for your criticisms, as while it may feel like, "What do I have to do to make you happy?" Given the changes I've already made to my editing style to satisfy you and others, I am grateful for the opportunity to improve on my work.

Thanks for your time,

As you can see from the file information, this file was created from File:KelvinWaterDropper wiki.pdf, which obviously could not be "coming from" a YouTube video. That file has been deleted in July, and I cannot remember what was the source there and which license it had (although the deletion was clearly not copyright-related). I'm reverting your current nomination as meaningless (as I mentioned, PDF/SVG cannot come from YouTube). If you believe that this image violates something, please nominate it properly. — Mikhail Ryazanov (talk) 04:11, 6 December 2017 (UTC)

Dear Mikhail Ryazanov, Take a closer look at the files. You will see that the images are not the same. I am the author of both: one on Wikipedia and a somewhat different one in the cited YouTube video (which I created). They are not the same, so there should be no copyright issue. The only thing we should change, perhaps, is the citation in the Wikipedia article: the point is to direct the interested reader to the external video, rather than to say the image directly "comes from" the video.

Please restore the files on Wikipedia they way they were.

I need to say something

Excuse me, don't you actually understand why I did this? It is because you deleted all images that are I uploaded. Although I revealed the sources. --THE PRIME CRONUS (talk) 21:27, 15 February 2018 (UTC)

I don't know which images you are talking about. But if you upload pictures that are against site policy, obviously they will be deleted because you are not allowed to do that. And then going on a spree of other inappropriate edits makes it even worse for you. You are going about this whole wikimedia thing all wrong. DMacks (talk) 05:57, 16 February 2018 (UTC)

Then tell me. How can I upload those images without considered violations? I thought I didn't upload any images which are against wiki policy. --THE PRIME CRONUS (talk) 14:55, 16 February 2018 (UTC)

As I said, I have no idea what images you are talking about. But again, some images simply are not allowed here. DMacks (talk) 16:46, 16 February 2018 (UTC)

I can give you the links of images if you want. But I need to know why those images are not allowed.--THE PRIME CRONUS (talk) 17:12, 16 February 2018 (UTC)

I see from your talkpage that some images were deleted because you did not provide proof that the original creator of the work (the actual photographer, for example) released the images with an open license. That is, "Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing." If you give me a link, I can look at it to see what it allows. DMacks (talk) 21:01, 16 February 2018 (UTC)

Here's the links which are I tried to took images. [[1]], [[2]]. --THE PRIME CRONUS (talk) 23:25, 16 February 2018 (UTC)

Neither of those sites give you permission to post their images to our Wiki sites. Therefore you are not allowed to do so. It is exactly as everyone has told you several times now. DMacks (talk) 04:50, 17 February 2018 (UTC)

Got it. Next time I'll check the sources those are allowed to upload in wiki. Thanks for your help. --THE PRIME CRONUS (talk) 14:16, 17 February 2018 (UTC)

You're welcome! Happy wiki-editing. DMacks (talk) 15:26, 17 February 2018 (UTC)

Unsourced/vague statement attached to photo file

Hello, I picked you at random when I recognized your name from en.wiki. I have raised an issue with the wording embedded in the description of File:Monnaie de Bactriane, Eucratide I, 2 faces.jpg, which for another few minutes is the Featured Picture on en.wiki, and is included on en:Eucratides I. The statement in question is "The largest known gold coin from antiquity..." which at first was unsourced, then cited satisfactorily, but remained vague: what is "Antiquity" and how would we know it's the "largest ever minted"? The description has been under revision per the discussion, and I would like to see that the description here is properly updated according to our determinations. I did post my concern on the File talk page, which was summarily deleted by @Yann: for "misuse of talk page". I was unable to follow up with Yann because his own user talk page is protected against my vandalism as well. In combing through Commons policies, I couldn't find anything obviously parallel to WP:V or WP:RS, so I don't know - perhaps false/vague/unsourced statements are fine here? I only swoop in when there's a thing going on at en.wiki, anyway. So I defer to your superior knowledge and authority. Sincerely, 2600:8800:1880:91E:5604:A6FF:FE38:4B26 23:34, 13 April 2018 (UTC)

We have Commons:Verifiability here, so the fact that multiple editors on en.wiki dispute the factual nature of the description should be enough to remove the problematic detail here. I updated it. DMacks (talk) 07:26, 14 April 2018 (UTC)
Thanks! I appreciate it. 2600:8800:1880:91E:5604:A6FF:FE38:4B26 08:00, 14 April 2018 (UTC)
It's a good edit to the English description, but the French remains problematic. Maybe "La plus grande pièce d'or connue depuis l'antiquité."?
I wonder if @Yann: has read the Zen koan on his user page recently. It is remarkable for the very person who created the file in question to defend it this way, claiming "it's not worth the effort" while going through the effort to cover-up a valid request by abusing his admin tools to delete the whole page! More to the point, I followed the links provided to the Gallery website where it originated, and there are description tables there but no trace of the contentious assertion in question. So it remains a mystery to me how this specific wording came to be attached to this image. Perhaps I'll never know. 2600:8800:1880:91E:5604:A6FF:FE38:4B26 06:23, 15 April 2018 (UTC)

Your opinion to the further procedure of file File:1,4-butanediol synthesis from tetrahydrofuran.png

Hello DMacks, I wanted to ask, how we should proceed further with the file of Claudio Pistilli. He has uploaded a new version of it with seems to be nearly correct (he could have had added a H+ proton to indicate the acid-catalyzed hydrolysis). What do yout think? Should we still vote for deletion or should we keep it? The other things is that the acid-catalyzed hydrolysis of THF is possible, but useless (1,4-butandiol is mainly produced by the reppe synthesis and not through THF). Hope you can tell me your opinion the this disputed case! 🔸 Best regards, Chem Sim 2001 (talk) 17:40, 25 February 2019 (UTC)

User:Chem Sim 2001 I agree that this reaction is possible and (now) as drawn chemically correct in this file. It may be rarely done or commerically useless, but it's not up to commons to decide whether a non-nonsense image is appropriate for other sites' articles. You're obviously welcome to edit the article(s) using the image to include comments about what the image illustrates (I don't usually bother, there's too large a waterfall of intentional ignorance (maybe en:Law of the instrument) and shocking disregard for actual scientific literature). More useful might be to contribute an image of your own that fixes the problems. The editor is usually receptive to "a better one is available" replacement, but usually rejects out-of-hand "this one is a problem" as mere complaints from the sideline. DMacks (talk) 17:51, 25 February 2019 (UTC)
Hello DMacks, thanks for your quick response & opinion. Since this file is only in use at the eo.wikipedia.org, I am not going to upload a new version (drawn with a chemical structure program) for this file, because I simply don´t support this reaction (even if it´s possible). I see no use and sense for the whole community to upload another one). I also think, that this file won´t be added to the german or english wikipedia due to it´s quality. Thanks again! 🔸 Best regards, Chem Sim 2001 (talk) 18:00, 25 February 2019 (UTC)

Hello DMacks, today I found this graphic on Wikimedia Commons. Hi DMacks. I don't think your redraw was necessary. In addition, you missed a double bond. --Leyo 08:49, 6 March 2019 (UTC)

Thanks for the note! The problem I noticed was the un-even ends of the triple bonds on the nitrogen end ("middle" is longer, vaguely suggesting there is "a triple bond" and then another sigma bond to a nitrogen beyond that, as if an alkyne). DMacks (talk) 12:44, 6 March 2019 (UTC)

File-renaming request

Hello DMacks, can you take a look at my file-renaming request I have opened yesterday? I have already asked several file movers, but they told me that they are not quite sure about this file (because it´s chemistry related). Would be great, if you could take a look at it! Here´s the file! Best regards, Chem Sim 2001 (talk) 17:53, 8 March 2019 (UTC)

@Chem Sim 2001: "Seite001" seems like a fairly common and innocuous component of chemical diagram filenames. I do not know idiomatic German (only a small amount of literal translation for science), so I am not sure why so many files have it. To me, it does not look like the kind of obvious factual or spelling error for renaming. DMacks (talk) 21:55, 8 March 2019 (UTC)
@DMacks: I know why so many file have the term "-Seite001" attached! This is german and means "-page001". This is an automatically generated annex if you are using Scribus to convert chemical diagram and structural formulas into a .svg-file! Personally I use this program, too. I always have to pay good attention to remove this useless attachment. (it´s generated because Scribus uses different layers, also called "pages"). I hope that you can now understand me better! Best regards, Chem Sim 2001 (talk) 22:04, 8 March 2019 (UTC)

@Chem Sim 2001: Sorry I lost track of this conversation! That preview looks great. My only thought would be to have the downward reaction step be "+H2O" instead of just "H2O". That specific step is a hydration, not just a reaction that has water as solvent. DMacks (talk) 18:10, 21 April 2019 (UTC)

User talk:Allforrous

Hello DMacks. Could you help me archive conversations until 2018 inclusive? --Allforrous (talk) 18:04, 21 April 2019 (UTC)

Do you want everything on a single archive page? Or would you prefer a separate page for each year or have some size-limit to keep each archive page from itself getting too long? I use that third option, and I also have it happen automatically so topics that have not been edited in ≥31 days get archived (rather than waiting until the end of a year to archive the whole previous year all at once) so I don't have to think about it. Your remark in an edit

Regarding your ping in Special:Diff/355656386/355662227: Yes, I was the one. If I remember correctly I intentionally left it smaller and also in pale colour tone, because the buttons are only visible in Commons:History merging and splitting#Current requests, and there is another button for a new section straight above. But this other one is not translated (something you won’t notice in English). For removing this one we would need a translation admin. Jdx, you are active in merging and splitting, what do you think? This is about the buttons for reading, editing and creating a new section. We could discuss this in Commons talk:History merging and splitting. — Speravir – 23:35, 22 June 2019 (UTC)

Hadn't even noticed the translation or the redundancy, and hadn't cared about color choice:) I agree we should get this all organized and involve other regulars, so I started a discussion as you suggested to continue working on it. DMacks (talk) 20:33, 23 June 2019 (UTC)

Deletion of one of my files

Hello DMacks, I wanted to ask you if you agree with the deletion of this file? I have nominated it for deletion some time ago but it was kept per this deletion request. You said, that the represenation of the file is totally different in comparison to the proposed replacement (uploaded by me). The problem is that the file neither shows the correct synthesis (missing catalysts) nor needs to be an image (just plain text that can be re-created with TeX). Therefore I want to nominate the file for deletion again since it's replaced by File:Industrial synthesis of methylamine.svg as correct reaction equation. Chem Sim 2001 (disc) 15:30, 27 July 2019 (UTC)

"Replaceable by TeX" (and for this one, even plain wikitext, at en:Methylamine for example) is a strong argument that was not raised previously. On that basis, I would support deletion. Catalysts might not need to be included in some use contexts (for example, discussing feedstocks for alternate routes). DMacks (talk) 02:20, 28 July 2019 (UTC)

Google Code-In 2019 is coming - please mentor some documentation tasks!

Hello,

Google Code-In, Google-organized contest in which the Wikimedia Foundation participates, starts in a few weeks. This contest is about taking high school students into the world of opensource. I'm sending you this message because you recently edited a documentation page at Wikimedia Commons.

I would like to ask you to take part in Google Code-In as a mentor. That would mean to prepare at least one task (it can be documentation related, or something else - the other categories are Code, Design, Quality Assurance and Outreach) for the participants, and help the student to complete it. Please sign up at the contest page and send us your Google account address to google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org, so we can invite you in!

From my own experience, Google Code-In can be fun, you can make several new friends, attract new people to your wiki and make them part of your community.

If you have any questions, please let us know at google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org.

Thank you!

File:1-MCP.svg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Images on Brindabella Christian College page

Re images on Brindabella Christian College page - Happy to discuss any aspect of the deletion request as it does not have merit under the copy-write provisions of Wikipedia unless I have misunderstood the rules. These particular photos are free for use by anyone who would like to use them, they have been supplied for use by Brindabella and they were subsequently used in several promotions in the past two years. Firstly in general College material, then in MBA Awards material, then in LEA Awards material, then in Brindabella Architectural contractor marketing material and also Bus advertising material through Go Transit. So the deletions should not occur.

@大诺史: sorry for the delay. Franklinekwem1's spam article was deleted from enwiki and I now deleted Franklinekwem's file upload here (that was used by that other account there). Both accounts have been dormant since that original activity, so I don't think it's worth doing more at this time. Thanks for the heads-up! DMacks (talk) 05:15, 2 January 2020 (UTC)

Hello DMacks, in this deletion request you mentioned a possible improvement of the proposed replacement. Would it be better if I rotate the structure in that way that the C-C-triple bond is parallel to the image border? I have created a preview here. A short answer would be very helpful! Regards, Chem Sim 2001 (disc) 16:06, 6 January 2020 (UTC)

That looks fine. Or else leaving the "C" and alkyne "H" labels implicit, or else drawing the C–H bond explicitly. DMacks (talk) 15:49, 11 January 2020 (UTC)

File:Amphastar Pharmaceuticals Inc. Logo.svg

Description This is a logo owned by Amphastar Pharmaceuticals Inc. for Amphastar. Further details: Logo of Amphastar

Source The logo is from the www.amphastar.com website. Taken from Amphastar website and converted to Vector graphics image. Original image can be found here http://www.amphastar.com/images/logo_amp.jpg?crc=174826049

Article Amphastar Pharmaceuticals Inc. (Currently in Sandbox testing mode)

Portion used The entire logo is used to convey the meaning intended and avoid tarnishing or misrepresenting the intended image.

Low resolution? The logo is of a size and resolution sufficient to maintain the quality intended by the company or organization, without being unnecessarily high resolution.

Purpose of use: The image is used to identify the organization Amphastar, a subject of public interest. The significance of the logo is to help the reader identify the organization, assure the readers that they have reached the right article containing critical commentary about the organization, and illustrate the organization's intended branding message in a way that words alone could not convey.

Replaceable? Because it is a non-free logo, there is almost certainly no free representation. Any substitute that is not a derivative work would fail to convey the meaning intended, would tarnish or misrepresent its image, or would fail its purpose of identification or commentary.

Other information Use of the logo in the article complies with Wikipedia non-free content policy, logo guidelines, and fair use under United States copyright law as described above. — Preceding unsigned comment added by UnknownCoder00 (talk • contribs) 09:45, 18 January 2020 (UTC)

@UnknownCoder00: That is all good information, and demonstrates exactly why it is not acceptable on commons: "fair use is not allowed on commons" (only actually free, not "non-free"). Some individual wikipedia sites (English, for example) do allow fair-use excemption but others do not. And the encyclopedia article you are talking about is not on commons, which is a separate project from (for example) the English wikipedia. Enwiki does allow the fair-use excemption (but other languages do not), so the image could be uploaded to enwiki directly in support of an article on that site. DMacks (talk) 16:21, 18 January 2020 (UTC)

UnknownCoder00: Thank you for the information and that is very helpful. I have been using it on my sandbox and it is awaiting to be completed on the official page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by UnknownCoder00 (talk • contribs) 21:47, 20 January 2020 (UTC)

Opinion to deletion request

Hello DMacks, today I have nominated this file for deletion. In my opinion, that structure is drawn unfavorably because the bond between the benzene and one methyl group does not connect to the carbon atom but to the hydrogen atom of the methyl group. Maybe you can post your opinion about this issue under the dicussion. Thanks in advance, Chem Sim 2001 (disc) 22:49, 17 February 2020 (UTC)

Hoa

He went back to requesting renames of images again. The ones he has done in the realm of Tropical cyclones have been quite damaging (a bunch of minor, but wrong changes) according to a TC image editor who informed me of the issue. The only way for them to be undone is by an admin. Hurricane Noah (talk) 12:58, 24 February 2020 (UTC)

Hi Hurricane Noah. Could you ask that other editor to post here directly? Are you (or that other editor) aware of any bad edits directly on enwiki, or is this "only" a problem with naming here on commons? I don't doubt any of your report but TC is not my usual field, just need to get information centralized as we're tracking a bunch of problems on multiple wikis. Also, is this a mistake? DMacks (talk) 13:08, 24 February 2020 (UTC)
I will ask him when he is online. Hurricane Noah (talk) 13:39, 24 February 2020 (UTC)
Hi, I'm the editor that was trying to undo some of the file moves Hoa requested. As a file mover I thought I could simply move the affected files back to the original name, however that doesn't seem like something I can do. The files I'd like to revert are tropical cyclone track map. Essentially, most files Hoa moved that had track in the title I would like to have restored to the original tile name. I can compile a list if that would make this request easier. Supportstorm (talk) 17:38, 24 February 2020 (UTC)
A list would be great! I assume by looking at their histories, it will be obvious what the old name was, and I can just move it back. This content area is not one with which I'm familiar, so could you also give me a quick explanation of what's wrong with the moves that were done (just a quick note about the overall situation using one as specific example)? Even if there weren't any other evidence of ongoing or repeated disruption, "an editor has made a disputed change that caused problems elsewhere or was otherwise against guideline, undo the change" won't be a problem. DMacks (talk) 18:11, 24 February 2020 (UTC)
Sure. These are some that I found that should be changed back to the title before Hoa's edit: [4], [5], [6], [7], [8]. While not every rename he requested was destructive, I will keep an eye out for future requests from this user. Thank you for your time Supportstorm (talk) 01:03, 25 February 2020 (UTC)

He also keeps uploading work and claiming it as his own when it isn't entirely his (per your repeated tagging of derivative work). Hurricane Noah (talk) 16:42, 25 February 2020 (UTC)

And concurrently using more than one account. I left them a final warning about those issues (here on commons, echoing the en.wp warning). Will work on the un-moving later today/tomorrow (Real Life got unexpectedly a bit crazy). DMacks (talk) 16:53, 25 February 2020 (UTC)

Note that I put a colon in the link so that it does not overwhelm this page with the display. The atomic radii are so large that it is difficult for me to see the geometric details. So I cannot comment on whether it is "correct". What is the journal article or calculation you are using to determine the distances and angles? Is it reasonable to quote and refer to files in the public domain? I know not to cite files that have not been made public, because they are copyright infringement.--Hoa112008 (talk) 08:49, 2 February 2020 (UTC)Hoa112008

Yes. Public-domain (and other freely licensed) files can certainly be reused. "Reuse" is one of the license requirements for hosting on commons, and likewise one of the goals of commons itself. But it's important to be honest about what "you" did vs what others did (claim what you did, but not claim their work as your own itself)--give credit where credit it due even if that source is totally free for use. Aluminium hydroxide structure

May I ask, is the hydroxide group in the molecule of Alhydrogel (or Aluminum hydroxide) an ionic bond or covalent bond? Is the molecular shape of the substance on the same plane or triangular pyramid?--Hoa112008 (talk) 02:32, 5 February 2020 (UTC)Hoa112008

"Hydroxide" is covalent between the O and H, and en:aluminium hydroxide appears to consist of ionic Al3+ and (OH). But it is not nearly as simple as loose ions...instead, the solid material is reported to have en:octahedral molecular geometry, with 8 OH around each Al. Wow! See en:Gibbsite#Structure for cited explanation. DMacks (talk) 13:30, 5 February 2020 (UTC)
Please give a new (sub)heading for each separate topic...I was confused why we were talking about Al(OH)3 under "Calcium-oxide". DMacks (talk) 13:31, 5 February 2020 (UTC)

"Incorrect electronics (the loose dianion would be full resonance, but the diprotonated would not)." If that does not make a little bit of sense, that is strong evidence you should not be creating these types of images for these types of compounds. DMacks (talk) 04:04, 25 February 2020 (UTC)

Artworks - media jpgs - article: Walter Baldessarini

Dear Dmacks,

I saw that you delted the 4 jpgs/artworks of the article Walter Baldessarini. I'm sorry, didn't knew, that also for the reproduction of an artwork the copyright info would be neccessary. I'll now organise the permission directly from the artist himself and then send it to the mail permissions-de@wikimedia.org. Do have to do send a mail for each artwork or can I write one for all 4 permissions? Do I have to inform you a soon as I have send the mail with the copyright permissions? Thanks a lot for your help and answer. kind regrads --User-l'alba34 (talk) 07:30, 20 March 2020 (UTC)

Hi User-l'alba34. A single license-release email that covers a set of works is definitely acceptable. I am not part of the OTRS process, so I do not need to be kept informed about it. It's an email queue with relatively few volunteers working on it compared to the amount of work they have, so it might be slow. However, once they process it and check that the permission is proper, they can "undelete" the previously uploaded files themselves. So no need even for you to re-upload once they are accepted. DMacks (talk) 10:05, 20 March 2020 (UTC)

Question about the creation of second user account

Hello DMacks, I have a question regarding the creation of a second user account. Is it possible/legit to create a second user account here on Commons for maintenance work. I plan to revise and update some old chemical structures from other users that have been abandoned or are orphaned (e.g I want to fix some SVG errors by uploaded a new version over an existing file to prevent those files from hasty deletion). I want to differentiate this work from my main account which is generally used to create completely new structures from scratch & to contribute with opinions to deletion requests (100% my own work). I basically don't want to flood the upload history of my main user account with new versions of other files ;-). Chem Sim 2001 (disc) 10:36, 29 March 2020 (UTC)

That seems like a legitimate on enwiki (en:WP:VALIDALT Technical reasons:Maintenance) as long as it's declared/cross-linked. Commons does not appear to have a separate policy (c:Commons:Sockpuppetry links to the enwiki page). Now that accounts are unified across all the WMF sites, I would not expect commons to prohibit that which enwiki explicitly allows like that. DMacks (talk) 16:14, 29 March 2020 (UTC)
Thanks for your answer. That's nice, of course I will link the second account with my main account. Best regards, Chem Sim 2001 (disc) 16:21, 29 March 2020 (UTC)

Hello DMacks, I have now created the second account which I will only use for maintenance work (as stated above). For some reason, I am not able to overwrite an existing file. If I try to upload a new version of this file, a notification says: "API Error fileexists-forbidden: A file with this name already exists, and cannot be overwritten. If you still want to upload your file, please go back and use a new name." Is it because I have created that new account thirty minutes ago and I just have to wait? Best regards, Chem Sim 2001 (Maint.) (talk) 17:42, 29 March 2020 (UTC)

Quite possibly. I think there are restrictions on new accounts based on certain criteria such as size and overwriting... DMacks (talk) 19:00, 29 March 2020 (UTC)
I added the permissions Chem Sim 2001 (Maint.) to match Chem Sim 2001. See if that helps. DMacks (talk) 19:03, 29 March 2020 (UTC)

I'm on the fence about it. Might be distasteful, but that's not a reason to delete. You could file a COM:DR and see how it goes, but I suspect it might be kept, at most with the caveat that the uploader remove the "see my website for more" messages. DMacks (talk) 13:39, 24 May 2020 (UTC)
What about the policies regarding images not being useful for the project and commons is not a porn site? I would think those would apply in addition to the advertising policy. What do you think? Also, shouldn't the links to these images be deleted from her WP and commons userpages? I know WP/commons isnt censored, but I think having these links in unexpected places should be avoided. I do not see any of these images at her enwiki userpage. There had been some inappropriate content there, and it was removed as the result of a deletion-discussion (en:Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Meow, but Commons:Project scope/Pages, galleries and categories#User pages, galleries and categories does not seem quite as restrictive as en:Wikipedia:User pages. Commons has no equivalent to the "Images that would bring the project into disrepute" section, but instead does support galleries of user-created images. You would have to make the case that these really are mainly for advertising and that they do not add new aspects to our categories of w:Furry fandom#Sexual aspects or similar subjects. I'm 50/50 on seeing that as the motivation, but that is just my gut feeling. DMacks (talk) 04:18, 25 May 2020 (UTC)
She links to her gallery and had added content in violation of that discussion. Check the history for the recent removal. Hurricane Noah (talk) 13:00, 25 May 2020 (UTC)
