After having had problems in Commons to try to contribute to improving Wikipedia globally, I have decided to permanently withdraw from this group and the rest of the Wikimedia groups. I delegate all the ability to improve these projects to the rest of the users and I ask everyone to look at the objective for which you are here: Help improve the project. It has been a wonderful year for me and I have been able to help with anything. P.S. If it is in the hands of the administrators, please proceed to delete my account, as I do not want any vandals to be able to do with it and make malicious edits under my name.

This user is, of their own volition, no longer active on Wikimedia Commons.
This is not indicative of breaking any Wikimedia policies.
Category discussion warning

Titanic (ship, 1912) has been listed at Commons:Categories for discussion so that the community can discuss ways in which it should be changed. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this category, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for discussion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it. If the category is up for deletion because it has been superseded, consider the notion that although the category may be deleted, your hard work (which we all greatly appreciate) lives on in the new category.

In all cases, please do not take the category discussion personally. It is never intended as such. Thank you!

Hello HefePine23, the following content you uploaded violates one or more of our policies and therefore has been or will soon be deleted:

File:Rose DeWitt Dawson KWinslet Titanic 1997 - 50481551843.jpg

The Wikimedia Commons (this website) only hosts media files with a realistic educational purpose and that can be used for any purpose, including:
  • use in any work, regardless of content
  • creation of derivative works
  • commercial use
  • free distribution

See Commons:Licensing for the copyright policy on Wikimedia Commons, and Commons:Image casebook for some specific examples. Some other Wikimedia projects have different licensing policies. For example, the English Wikipedia allows fair use of sounds and photographs. This is not the case on Wikimedia Commons; "fair use" materials are not acceptable here.

Please make sure that you only upload educational content you have created yourself, those which are out of copyright, or those for which you have the required permission for the work to be used in all the ways described above. Please note that derivative works of copyrighted material are also considered copyrighted. Again, please read through Commons:Licensing, which is quite crucial, to understanding how Wikimedia Commons works. Thanks for your contribution, and please do leave me a message if you have further questions.

Hello HefePine23.

You have uploaded one or more files that are copyright violations. You have done so despite requests from editors not to do so, and despite their instructions. See Commons:Licensing for the copyright policy on Wikimedia Commons. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules by subject matter useful.

This is your last warning. The next time you upload a file that violates copyright, you will be blocked. Please leave me a message if you have further questions.

It is no coincidence that a new Flickr account was created, followed by your upload of its images here using it as a source. This is license laundering, and if you deliberately misrepresent authorship and licensing again, you will be blocked. Эlcobbola talk 20:11, 14 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

User:elcobbola: This user has just done the exact same thing, using an account at flickr[1] to flickrwash a copyrighted image[2]. DrKay (talk) 19:06, 22 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I'm so sorry with the portrait of the Queen Mother, but the rest pictures were published before 1951, and I've put the correct license parameters. I've done some errors at the past, but I was learning about the correct form to contribute. I think that it is a little unfair to delete all my work (except the obvious copyright violation).

Please, consider to conservate them. The Queen Mother portrait you can delete it.

Sorry for my bad actions. I promise that I won't do any activity more for this project.

Yours sincerely.

File source is a derivative work: File:Titanic Starboard Side Diagram.jpg[edit]

Hello JG03, you recently uploaded a new version of a file originally uploaded by another user to Commons. The file is: File:Titanic Starboard Side Diagram.jpg.

This file included a link to the Flickr page where the original file was located, which was passed on by a user who verified that it complied with the exposed licenses. By uploading your version to the file and modifying the link, you've caused the user who reviewed and approved the file to have trouble reconfirming that it is licensed. So it has been nominated as a derivative work to examine whether it should be deleted.

I also want to inform the user who uploaded the original version to inform him of what happened and to proceed to take action in reference to how to act in response to the future of the file, either or waiting for it's deletion and to upload the original version with the same name again, or to place the same under a different name.

With this I want to comment that I recommend that you be careful when uploading new versions of files that other users have originally uploaded, especially if they have been uploaded from pages such as Flickr. Please do not take it personally, it is simply so that in the future it does not happen again since I fully understand the work you will have put into improving the files and contributing positively to Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons, no However, I believe that my duty is to advise you to avoid that your effort goes to the trash and above all, to avoid that this drag the files that others originally uploaded.

If you need anything, do not hesitate to consult the information or contact the administrators, they understand better on this subject and will surely be able to advise you in the most appropriate way.

Receive a cordial greeting. --81.35.204.186 09:09, 23 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Exact duplicate means exact duplicate[edit]

Hi. I see that you are again taking issue with two similar versions of the same image. The purpose of duplicate of speedy deletions is that it doesn't need community discussion, which is not what a different colouration would be. Further, there is no problem with variations of the same image, we are not stuck for space, and enabling users to use the version that they prefer is perfectly acceptable. Utilise {{Other version}} to mark them up.  — billinghurst sDrewth 11:36, 6 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ok. Thank you for the information. I'm so sorry with that error. JG03 (talk) 14:18, 6 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

File renaming[edit]

Please review criterion 6: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:File_renaming "Non-controversial maintenance and bug fixes, including fixing double extensions, invalid or incorrect extensions, character handling problems, and other similar technical issues" Your request has nothing to do with that.

Also please review criteria 1-5. Your request doesn't fall under any of those criteria. Thus, it is denied.

Thank you. Famartin (talk) 17:54, 10 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! Please don't request the same file(s) to be renamed after they have been declined. No improvement is no improvement. We don't rename files for fun or artful descriptions. Ping me on my talk if you have questions, I'm not watching your talk page. C(_) Cheers! --Hedwig in Washington (mail?) 06:18, 19 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Please do not overwrite existing images with a variation instead please upload the image separately. Explanation at Commons:Overwriting existing files. Thanks.  — billinghurst sDrewth 23:27, 14 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

OK. I just put with the former name, see here. --HefePine23 (talk) 06:12, 15 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not request deletion of redirects. Please read the linked page for a better understanding. Thanks.  — billinghurst sDrewth 23:36, 14 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Warning sign
This media was probably deleted.
Thanks for uploading File:The Queen Mother Official Portrait.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.

Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own).

The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:The Queen Mother Official Portrait.jpg]]) and the above demanded information in your request.

Pay attention to copyright
File:The Queen Mother Official Portrait.jpg has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.

The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion. (It is not necessary to request undeletion if using VRT; the file will be automatically restored at the conclusion of the process.)

Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

Hello, this is a different version of the same photo, but it was retouched and restored by myself. So, it would considerate an own work. I just only indicate the link to the original photo. Ther e are a lot of pictures with the same situation or similar, I don't understand why they are considerated and mine contributions no.

Notification about possible deletion[edit]

Some contents have been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether they should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at their entry.

If you created these pages, please note that the fact that they have been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with them, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Your account has been blocked[edit]

Note that the duration is indefinite (which is not the same as infinite) per deliberate Flickr washing--not only once, but twice (!!!) This dishonesty and blatant disregard for our policies is problematic above and beyond merely uploading copyright violations and requires a very good explanation indeed if you are to resume editing here. Эlcobbola talk 19:27, 22 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Why?

I understand that with the picture of the Queen Mother would be a suspecting for this but ¿is really neccesary to delete my other photos which have publicated the most of they for the first time prior to 1951?.

OK. In the past I have commeted errors. But i have changed. This is unfair.

I've spent a lot of time trying to document myself well on things to improve and contribute to this great project.

Well, since this is done to me, after having inverted many days in preparing the photographs to upload them, and I am thanked in this way (and I do not say it for the photo of the queen mother, but for others that I have arranged myself and that are in the public domain for more than 70 years and 3 that are my own work) I declare myself (if not deleted in passing) removed from all Wikipedia functions.

But first of all I want to put on record that there are much more out there who, unlike my case, do this kind of thing with bad intentions and they don't get any hits.

I only edited in good faith.

I am retiring with the intention of never returning.

All the best. --HefePine23 (talk) 19:35, 22 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
