You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold when contributing and assume good faith when interacting with others. This is a wiki.

Getting help

More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (webchat). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at the copyright village pump.

Goodies, tips, and tricks

Put Babel boxes on your user page so others know what languages you can speak and indicate your graphic abilities.
You can find the files you have uploaded in your Uploads.
Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~.
To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg.
You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account.

Wikimedia Commons has a specific scope[edit]

Thank you for your contributions. Your image or other content, Fabien Biancalani, was recently deleted, or will soon be deleted, in accordance with our process and policies, because it was not, or is not, within our scope. Please review our project scope, but in short, Commons is targeted at educational media files including photographs, diagrams, animations, music, spoken text and video clips. Vos images rejetées[edit]

Bonjour,

Le problème consiste à convaincre les utilisateurs qui ont supprimé votre image que vos images sont réellement sous licence Créative Commons. En effet les commentaires de suppression montrent qu'ils ont cru que l'image originale n'est pas libre, et que vous l'avez copiée sur Flicker en ajoutant une licence libre avant de l'importer sur Commons (ce qu'ils appellent du "Flickr washing"). Malheureusement il s'agit d'une technique courante pour faire passer des images protégées pour des images libres, ce qui pose ensuite des problèmes sans fin entre les détenteurs des droits et Commons...

Je vous recommande donc de poster directement sur Commons l'image originale, en plus haute résolution, sans retouche par Photoshop, ou alors une série de 2 ou trois photos prises lors de la séance de prise de vues. Ceci permettrait de montrer que vous êtes réellement l'auteur de la photo. Il se peut que d'autres éléments vous soient demandés (par exemple une autorisation de M. Biancalani) par la suite. En tous les cas, prenez contact avec les personnes qui vous ont laissé des messages, même en français, elles pourront demander de l'aide pour se faire traduire votre message.

J'en profite pour vous recommander également d'indiquer sur votre page utilisateur vos compétences linguistiques avec les modèles "Babel" (vous pouvez prendre exemple sur ma propre page utilisateur).
