Sicher mögen die Bilder auch auf dem Server der Uni Mannheim liegen (könnte man ja dahin verlinken). Aber die Holzschnitte bzw. Kupferstiche liegen auch in der Bibliothek des evangelischen Predigerseminars in Wittenberg. Bücher die im 17. Jahrhundert aufgelegt wurden, haben nun mal die Eigenschaft, das sie mehrfach aufgelegt wurden. Deshalb brauche ich auch keine Einwilligung der Uni Mannheim. Zumal diese wohl kaum über die Eigentumsrechte des Autors verfügen dürften. Warum soll ich mir von jemanden eine Einwilligung holen, wenn dieser keine Rechte am Bild hat. Das liegt beim Autor der Stiche und die sind bekanntlich länger als 100 Jahre tot. Ergo ist das Bild gemeinfrei. Einzig und allein steht der Uni Mannheim nach meinem Erachten ein Eigentumsrecht an dem Buch zu, jedoch ein Bildverwertungsrecht obliegt ihr nicht. mfg Torsten Schleese 10:07, 20 August 2006 (UTC)

P.S, Heißt also alle Bilder die älter als 100 Jahre sind sind frei. Es sei denn du fotogrfierst von einem Gemälde den Rahmen mit. Dann musst du angeben weil du ein dreidimensionales Objekt hast woher dies stammt. Wer das Foto geschossen hat etc. das obliegt dann wieder dem Bildrecht. Also unterlasse bitte die Darstellung von Bilderrahmen auf deinen Abbildungen und lass nur das Bild erscheinen. Das ist dann rechtlich einwandfrei.

Ich durfte gerade alles löschen, was du so im Laufe der letzten Monate raufgeladen hast. Nicht ein Bild hatte eine Quelle, und wirklich schlimm wurden dann die Beiträge aus den letzten zwei Monaten, wo du anscheinend versucht hast, eine Infobox mit einzubauen. Vielleicht hättest du dir vorher mal anschauen sollen, wie man eine Infobox verwendet oder zumindest nachher noch kurz einen Blick auf deinen Upload werfen, damit du siehst, das es eben nicht geklappt hat. Wenn du nach {{Information gleich irgendeinen Blödsinn wie {{{{Information aus Dänischer Wiki schreibst, gibst du dem Template einen anderen Namen, was natürlich nicht funktionieren kann, weil es kein Template Information aus Dänischer Wiki gibt. Die Quelle gehört wie der Name des Parameters eigentlich schon aussagt gleich nach "source=". Und wenn du dort nur so einen Wischiwaschi hinschreibst, ohne Angabe wo genau, wer der Uploader, usw. ist das auch nur Löschmaterial. Außerdem, selbst wenn ein Bild von einem anderen Wiki kommt, ist immer auch die Originalquelle zu nennen, also von wo der dortige Uploder das hatte. Was ich auch nicht ganz verstehe, ist, dass du bei allen Bildern eine schlechtere Auflösung hochgeladen hast, als die anderen Wikipedias zur Verfügung stellten. Und der Oberhammer: bei ziemlich allen Bildern in den anderen Wikipedias stand dabei, dass sie ein gemeinsamer Upload sind, sprich: die waren schon längst auf Commons hochgeladen und wurden von dort in den anderen Wikis eingebunden. Du hast also nur Duplikate erzeugt, bei denen jetzt erst die Verwendung ersetzt werden muss und dann das Bild wieder gelöscht werden, also doppelte Arbeit. Ich weiß jetzt nicht, wo du wohnst, aber wenn du einen anderen Wikipedianer kennst, lass dir bitte von ihm Schritt für Schritt (am besten persönlich) erklären, wie man Bilder hochladet, wie man sie beschreibt und wie man sie weiterverwendet. -- Cecil 12:29, 16 October 2007 (UTC)

Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]

[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").
