Pay attention to copyright
File:Dingdongling6.jpg has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.

The file you added may soon be deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please replace the copyvio tag with {{subst:OP}} and have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you disagree that the file is a copyright violation for any other reason, please replace the copyvio tag with a regular deletion request.

Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

This media may be deleted.
Thanks for uploading File:Tarzin Cahangirov.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.

Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own).

Warning: unless the permission information is given, the file may be deleted after seven days. Thank you.

Code issues in User:XXN/Cat-a-lot.js

[edit]

Hi XXN, I am a bored bot (this is kind of a computer program) that is watching the recent changes and tapping buttons like I did now.

Curious about the reason? Possibly not but I will tell you anyway:

  1. You edited User:XXN/Cat-a-lot.js. Glad to see you coding in javascript! Have you ever considered becoming a MediaWiki hacker?
  2. Though, that change appears to introduce 1 new jshint issue — the page's status is now having ERRORS. Note that invalid or ambiguous code often has unwanted side effects like breaking other tools for you. If you cannot find out how to fix it, I suggest blanking the page for now.
  3. To help you understanding where the issues are, I have aggregated a report here and now. If you have questions, don't hesitate to ask users experienced in javascript writing for help. But do not ask the bot's operators (chronically overwrought) unless you suspect an error of mine. If you prefer not getting spammed by me, you can opt-out reports by adding {{ValidationOptOut|type=all}} to your user page or cmb-opt-out anywhere on your your global user page on Meta. Good luck at Wikimedia Commons and happy hacking!

Broke uncategorized by date categories

[edit]

Your edits back in April 2016 (starting with this one) broke the {{UncategorizedHeader}} template, causing the date categories you edited not to be included in any parent category. Please be more careful in the future, and (if you have the time) go back and fix the mess. Thanks for trying to help, though! JesseW (talk) 06:46, 22 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@JesseW: Actually nothing is broken, everything works as expected. I just probably had to remove completely that bot signature in template parameter. These categories I edites are included in a parent category - Media needing categories in use in galleries - it's hidden maintenance category, you may need to enable option "Show hidden categories" in preferences. CategorizationBot is not active anymore and all these categories were prior to this included only in Media needing categories to be checked by a bot to let it work alone on them (but where human editors probably didn't check them), and after my edits they became re-introduced again in Media needing categories in use in galleries together with all other similar categories (where people work on them). You can compare any of these categories with more recent ones, e.g. Media needing categories as of 16 September 2016, their appearance and categorization is identical. ----XXN, 11:47, 22 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
OK, good. Thank you for clarifying. I hadn't been very active since before CategorizationBot stopped working, so I hadn't noticed the changes. JesseW (talk) 01:52, 23 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Categories

[edit]

Please don't remove my categories - They're there for a bloody reason!. –Davey2010 Merry Xmas / Happy New Year 15:58, 27 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Davey2010: They should be hidden, and beside them, probably these images should have normal categories too. --XXN, 16:06, 27 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Then COPY them over! - Don't use just remove them entirely!. –Davey2010 Merry Xmas / Happy New Year 16:08, 27 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. FTR, in fact this was a needed categorization, not just a category removal... --XXN, 16:26, 27 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
As I said COPY THEM over ... it's not rocket science. –>Davey2010 Merry Xmas / Happy New Year 16:30, 27 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I've done it myself seeing as it was too much hard work for you!. Davey2010 Merry Xmas / Happy New Year 16:33, 27 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
