Tip: Categorizing images
Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.
1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:
2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.
- [[Category:Category name]]
For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:
- [[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations"). Pro-tip: The CommonSense tool can help you find the best category for your image.

I saw it eventually and stopped the commonist upload. But to write the letter on my Norwegian keyboard this is just a tiny mistake to make and too easy to miss. I will reupload with the corrections made. (There are more churches in the pipeline. What an amazing area!) Haros (talk) 13:03, 14 June 2009 (UTC)
Using images from the Royal Collections of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland
Hello! Recently there were many high quality images downloaded from the Royal Collections of Great Britain. Also there is a large category of these images. And it is not forbidden to spread the image of the Royal Collection? Since earlier scandal was already with the National Portrait Gallery in London. Moreover, the Royal Collection is not allowed to spread these images, I asked. It is better to remove them, so that later there was no problem. In principle, I'm waiting for the last answer from the Royal Collection, which accurately recognize the legal capacity of such images. Today we all will know and I'll still write.
Re Commons:Deletion requests/Images uploaded by Ph931221
If you found more pictures of that user that you think have copyright issues, please open another DR for them so all admin actions are logged correctly. Thanks in advance and best regards, Alpertron (talk) 13:47, 11 April 2010 (UTC)
