Escut de Canals

Hola, MrPotato. Primer de tot, salutacions cordials. Respecte de les diferents versions d'un escut que utilitza un ajuntament, l'opinió més generalitzada a la wiki és utilitzar la versió que siga més fidel al blasonament oficial, excepte si aquest conté errors evidents (com és el cas de l'escut de Bunyol, o de Quatretonda, etc) o si és un escut que, malgrat ser oficial, l'ajuntament no l'ha utilitzat mai (Vinalesa), o el va canviar fa molt de temps i el canvi està més que consolidat, encara que no s'haja oficialitzat (Manuel) i coses així...

Respecte de l'escut de Canals, jo no he trobat el blasonament oficial, ja que el Decret oficial no l'inclou. Però com que no he trobat cap blasonament oficial de l'època que els incloga, he suposat que tampoc els inclourà el de Canals, però puc estar equivocat. De totes maneres, puc acostar-me a la biblioteca d'humanitats de la Universitat de València per a consultar el Butlletí de la RAH on apareix el blasonament oficial i així eixim de dubtes. Respecte de la modificació que comentes que ha fet l'ajuntament del seu logo, jo sóc de l'opinió que una cosa es un logo o emblema municipal i altra l'escut heràldic; i que aquests poden coincidir o no. Crec que haurien de col·locar l'escut i no el logo (ja que indiquem a l'article que es tracta de l'escut); i en tot cas indicar en un article sobre l'escut que l'ajuntament té una versió diferent per al seu logo o emblema o les modificacions que ha fet respecte del blasonament oficial..., i aprofitar per a indicar si hi han versions ornamentades de l'escut, etc.

Personalment, a mi m'agrada més la versió amb només un arbre i sense muntanyes per ser més senzilla, però crec que hauríem de consultar el blasonament oficial abans de fer el canvi. -salutacions---Macondo (talk) 19:09, 11 March 2016 (UTC)

Hola, Mr. Potato, ja he trobat el blassonament oficial y, ¡sorpresa! l'escut oficial no té res a veure amb l'escut que utilitza l'Ajuntament. Es tracta d'un escut molt paregut al de Xella (), però en lloc d'un manso porta una vaca i va ornamentat amb dues branques de llorer nugades amb una cinta on posa "Ayuntamiento de Canals". Sembla que és un cas paregut al de l'escut de Vinalesa, on l'escut oficial és un, però l'Ajuntament mai l'ha utilitzat i en fa ús d'un altre. Seria interessant saber què ha passat. Buscar en un llibre que parle d'aquest assumpte o aconseguir les actes de l'Ajuntament dels plens on s'aprovà l'escut (no oficial) que utilitza l'Ajuntament. En aquella època el procediment per a l'aprovació dels escuts n'era que l'Ajuntament proposava un escut, la RAH emetia el seu dictamen i si aquest era favorable el consell de Ministres a proposta del Ministre de Governació l'aprovava. En teoria, si el dictamen era desfavorable no s'aprovava res i l'Ajuntament havia d'aprovar altra proposta. Però en comptes d'això, moltes voltes, la RAH emetia un fals dictamen favorable, es a dir, feia un informe favorable, però canviant el blasó, d'aquesta forma el procediment continuava endavant i el consell de ministres acabava aprovant un escut diferent al que havia aprovat el Ple de l'Ajuntament. Coses de la dictadura, on sembla que tots es barallaven per veure qui la tenia més llarga i qui manava més... Escudo del Ayuntamiento de Canals

El territorio en el que se hallaba enclavada la antigua alquería de Canals fue conquistado por Jaime I en 1249, y al siguiente año lo donó a Játiva, incluyéndolo en sus términos, pero exceptuó de la donación la Torre del pueblo, separada del mismo por escasos dos kilómetros, y que siempre formó parte del territorio municipal de Canals, mas con administración propia, y el peculiar nombre de la Torre de Canals. Vuelve Canals al Patrimonio Real y erigida en Baronía es su señor don Juan Jiménez de Urrea, quien es desposeído de ella por crimen de lesa Majestad, volviendo a la Corona, pasando temporalmente, a final del XIII, al señorío de Dionisio, conde de Hungría. Pedro II de Aragón, en 1310, la dona a su mayordomo Ramón Riuxech, quien la vende a la ciudad de Játiva en 1358, fecha desde la cual son constantes las desaveniencias entre ambas poblaciones, los que continuaron hasta que Felipe III en 1639, previa indemnización pecunaria a Játiva, declaró a Canals villa libre y emancipada. Como puede observarse, la historia política y territorial de Canals es análoga a la de tantas otras villas y pueblos valencianos, sin destacar circunstancias especiales. Las particularidades que caracteriza esta baronía territorial, es la cierta independencia que desde la conquista del Reino valenciano goza la demarcación a ella perteneciente denominada Torre de Canals.

Conquistada por Alfonso el Batallador la ciudad de Borja en Aragón, se la dió en honor a don Pedro de Atarés, descendiente por rama ilegítima del Rey Ramiro I; de este linaje descendieron don Gonzalo Gil y don Domingo de Borja y de Baucio, que tomaron parte en la conquista de Valencia y a quienes Jaime I, en testimonio de gratitud, les concedió mil doscientas cuarenta heredades en territorio de Játiva, siendo una de aquéllas la Torre de Canals, en la que asentaron fuerte palacio, adosado a su iglesia. Domingo de Borja tuvo un hijo del mismo nombre, el que casó en Játiva con doña Francisca Martí, de cuya unión nacieron cinco hijos, entre ellos don Alfonso, doña María y doña Catalina, nacidos en la Torre de Canals, vinculando esta última el señorío jurisdiccional y territorial de dicha Torre. Don Alfonso fué bautizado en la parroquia de Santa María de Játiva, siguió sus estudios en la Universidad de Zaragoza, doctorándose en Cánones y Derecho en la de Lérida. Párroco de San Nicolás, de Valencia; canónigo de Lérida y Barcelona, consejero de Benedicto XII y de Alfonso V de Aragón prestó importantísimos servicios al Papa Martín V en la terminación del Cisma de Occidente, por los que recibió la Mitra valenciana en 1429 y más tarde, en 1444, el Capelo Cardenalicio. En 8 de abril de 1455 fue elegido Papa, tomando en nombre de Calixto III y adoptando como escudo pontificio el que habían usado sus ascendientes de apellido Borja:

Los hechos históricos que consignados quedan suministran los elementos propios para ordenar heráldicamente el Escudo Municipal de Canals,

<<en forma de Blasón Cortado: en el campo superior los Palos de Aragón, recuerdo de su egregio conquistador Jaime I, y en el inferior las armas de los Borja valencianos, tal como las declaró y usó el Pontífice Calixto II al ser elevado al Pontificado, que descritas quedan. El todo coronado con la Real de Aragón, idéntica a la de Castilla, salvo las diademas que la encierran, adornado con dos ramas de laurel de sinople enlazadas por su base y anudadas con una cinta y en ella la inscripción Ayuntamiento de Canals.>>
