Ok, I'll delete that. I've found it now, it's at https://www.flickr.com/photos/78630484@N04/10099803896/in/photostream/ . Notice that the license is CC-BY-NC-SA, which is a non-commercial license that we do not accept here. All images uploaded here must be freely usable by anyone for any legal purpose, including commercial uses. So we only accept licenses that do not have "non-commercial only" restrictions. So please do not re-upload it under the correct name (with Dundee instead of Tayside).
To learn more about licensing and what kind of images are OK here, see Commons:Licensing, Commons:Copyright rules by subject matter, and COM:FLICKR.
For future uploads from Flickr, please always give a source link back to the Flickr page. Lupo 12:09, 12 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I'm confused as the images I've used are from Flickr, and the individual has given consent for the image to be used by others as long as he's mentioned which I have done. So can you give me some help and info and why what I have done is a "copyright violation"?
Let's take File:Police Scotland Armed Response.jpg as an example. I found that image on http://news.stv.tv/highlands-islands/228813-three-people-due-in-court-following-armed-siege-at-inverness-flat/ where there is no indication of any free license (or "take it, but credit us"); instead, the site says at the bottom "Copyright © 2007–2014 STV. All rights reserved." So, taking that image and uploading it here under a free license is a copyright violation, even though you credited "STV.tv" as source. In general, anything you can find on the Internet is copyrighted and must not be copied, unless there's an explicit mention of some free license that allows doing so. The license looks good on this one, but please remember to put the full URL of where you found the photo in the source. I did it for you this time. --Lewis Hulbert (talk) 13:32, 16 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Lewis Hulbert: How? I had no Flickr results in Google Searchbyimage …    FDMS  4    13:37, 16 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@FDMS4: I found the author's Flickr and scrolled through his photostream until I found the image. --Lewis Hulbert (talk) 13:39, 16 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading File:Police Service of Scotland Logo.gif. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.

If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.)

If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there.

Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you.
