You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account. There are several tools to upload files. Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful. Made a mistake? Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it. Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Tag it as {{speedy|reason here}}. For more information read the deletion guidelines.

WLM

Hi Wnme, Super, daß du dich um die WLM-Bilder und Neuuser kümmerst. Nur zur Info: Bei den aktuellen Kölner Bildern ist es mit dem Köln-Wizard absichtlich so geregelt, daß wir die IDs abfragen, und nicht die Stadtteile - weil wir die Leute am Sonntag (hoffentlich in Massen) mit den Listen rumschicken, und so die einzelnen Denkmäler eindeutig zu identifizieren sind. Wenn die Denkmallisten in WP mit der Stadtteil-Commonscat versehen sind (was sie sein sollten), können wir später einen Bot drüberlaufen lassen, der die Stadtteile nachträgt. Hallo Elya! Ah gut zu wissen :-). Ursprünglich wollte ich nur die vorhandenen Bilder aus den Denkmallisten in die entsprechenden Commonscats einsortieren (viele davon waren ja noch gar nicht angelgt ;)). Einige Fotos in z.B. der Kölner Kat hatte gar keine ID und waren auch sonst nicht so einfach zuzuordnen. Ein Bot ist ja eine gute Idee, aber da wird wohl trotzdem noch einiges an Arbiet von Hand übrig bleiben (alles muss geprüft werden, zusätzliche Kats rein/anpassen, Unterkats anlegen usw.). Soll der Bot dann auch direkt die Bilder in den Denkmallsiten der WP einbinden? Bei den Commonscats in den Listen bin ich mir aber auch noch nicht sicher ob alles vollständig ist (bei 86 Veedeln kann man ja auch mal den Überblick verlieren ;-)) (die Stadtteilkats habe ich jedenfalls alle angelegt aber noch nicht alle alten Fotos in die neuen Kats reinsortiert). Picture of the Year voting round 1 open

Dear Wikimedians,

Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the 2012 Picture of the Year competition is now open. We're interested in your opinion as to which images qualify to be the Picture of the Year for 2012. Voting is open to established Wikimedia users who meet the following criteria:

1. Users must have an account, at any Wikimedia project, which was registered before Tue, 01 Jan 2013 00:00:00 +0000 [UTC].
2. This user account must have more than 75 edits on any single Wikimedia project before Tue, 01 Jan 2013 00:00:00 +0000 [UTC]. Please check your account eligibility at the POTY 2012 Contest Eligibility tool.
3. Users must vote with an account meeting the above requirements either on Commons or another SUL-related Wikimedia project (for other Wikimedia projects, the account must be attached to the user's Commons account through SUL).

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year are all entered in this competition. From professional animal and plant shots to breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historically relevant images, images portraying the world's best architecture, maps, emblems, diagrams created with the most modern technology, and impressive human portraits, Commons features pictures of all flavors.

For your convenience, we have sorted the images into topic categories. Two rounds of voting will be held: In the first round, you can vote for as many images as you like. The first round category winners and the top ten overall will then make it to the final. In the final round, when a limited number of images are left, you must decide on the one image that you want to become the Picture of the Year.

Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the second round of the 2013 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the eighth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2013) to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year were entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.

There are two total rounds of voting. In the first round, you voted for as many images as you liked. The top 30 overall and the most popular image in each category have continued to the final. In the final round, you may vote for just one image to become the Picture of the Year.

Dear Wnme,

The 2013 Picture of the Year competition has ended and we are pleased to announce the results: We shattered participation records this year — more people voted in Picture of the Year 2013 than ever before. In both rounds, 4070 different people voted for their favorite images. Additionally, there were more image candidates (featured pictures) in the contest than ever before (962 images total).

• In the first round, 2852 people voted for all 962 files
• In the second round, 2919 people voted for the 50 finalists (the top 30 overall and top 2 in each category)

We congratulate the winners of the contest and thank them for creating these beautiful images and sharing them as freely licensed content:

1. 157 people voted for the winner, an image of a lightbulb with the tungsten filament smoking and burning.
2. In second place, 155 people voted for an image of "Sviati Hory" (Holy Mountains) National Park in Donetsk Oblast, Ukraine.
3. In third place, 131 people voted for an image of a swallow flying and drinking.

Wiki Loves Monuments 2014 startet in Kürze

Hallo Wnme,

in Kürze ist es wieder soweit. Der nun schon traditionelle Fotowettbewerb Wiki Loves Monuments wird im September zum vierten Mal stattfinden. In ähnlicher Form hatte unlängst der Wettbewerb "Wiki Loves Earth" eine erfolgreiche Premiere. Zu allen bisherigen vier Wettbewerben haben seit 2011 gut 3000 unterschiedliche Teilnehmer (User) ihren Beitrag geleistet. Du warst dabei, und bist auch herzlich eingeladen, am bevorstehenden WLM-Wettbewerb wieder dabei zu sein.

Allein in Deutschland wurden in den letzten drei Jahren im Rahmen von WLM rund 100.000 Fotos zu den insgesamt ca. 850.000 Kulturdenkmalen bundesweit hochgeladen. Jährlich haben sich mehrere Hundert Wiki-Fotographen daran beteiligt. Auch im kommenden Denkmalmonat wird dies gewiss wieder der Fall sein. Der Tag des offenen Denkmals am 14. September bietet bundesweit vielfältige Möglichkeiten, Denkmale nicht nur von außen, sondern auch von innen zu fotografieren. Denkmallisten sind dabei ein wichtiger Orientierungspunkt und zugleich auch Ziel der Einbindung der Fotos. Auch in diesem Jahr sind wieder neue Denkmallisten hinzugekommen, die hilfreich bei der Planung von individuellen oder Gruppen-Fototouren sind und auf eine Bebilderung warten, wie z.B. zu Görlitz oder Zittau. Unter den Landeshauptstädten fehlt nur noch Stuttgart. Aber auch hier ist Licht in Sicht.

In der Mitte Deutschlands hat die Denkmallandschaft der thüringischen Landeshauptstadt Erfurt nun das Licht der Wikipedia-Welt entdeckt. Mehr als 50 Tabellen enthalten 3.700 Denkmale. Allein die wunderschön restaurierte Altstadt umfasst 1.800 Denkmale. Eine von WMDE geförderte WLM-Fototour nach Erfurt am Wochenende vom 29. – 31. August lädt herzlich ein, diese einzigartige Kulturlandschaft zu dokumentieren. Mehr Informationen findest Du auf der Projektseite.

Der WLM-Countdown hat begonnen

Hallo Wnme,

nun ist es wieder soweit. Vom 1. bis zum 30. September findet zum fünften Mal der internationale Wettbewerb Wiki Loves Monuments statt. Im Mittelpunkt steht bekanntlich das Fotografieren von Kulturdenkmalen. Du hast an einem der letzten Fotowettbewerbe teilgenommen und wir freuen uns auf weitere Bildbeiträge von Dir.

Viele interessante Motive, nicht nur Burgen und Schlösser, sondern auch Fachwerkhäuser, Brücken und Brunnen, technische und Industriedenkmale und vieles mehr gibt es noch zu fotografieren, damit sie in der Wikipedia dokumentiert werden können. Nützliche Tipps findest du auf unserer WLM-Projektseite. Du kannst gerne individuell Fototouren durchführen oder aber Dich auch Gruppentouren anschließen. Besonders freuen wir uns auf Fotos, die Lücken in den Denkmallisten der Wikipedia ausfüllen.

Darüber hinaus kannst Du auch an der Arbeit der Jury teilnehmen, die Mitte Oktober die Fotos bewerten und die Gewinner ermitteln wird. Bis zum 15. August kannst du hier Deine Bewerbung einreichen.

• Use the CommonsDelinker link in the {{Rename}} template to order a bot to replace all ocurrences of the old title with the new one. Or, if there was no rename-request, please use the Move & Replace-tab.
• Please leave a redirect behind unless you have a valid reason not to do so. Other projects, including those using InstantCommons, might be using the file even though they don't show up in the global usage. Deleting the redirects would break their file references. Please see this section of the file rename guideline for more information.
• Please know and follow the file rename guidelines.

Important message for file movers

A community discussion has been closed where the consensus was to grant all file movers the suppressredirect user right. This will allow file movers to not leave behind a redirect when moving files and instead automatically have the original file name deleted. Policy never requires you to suppress the redirect, suppression of redirects is entirely optional.

Possible acceptable uses of this ability:

• To move recently uploaded files with an obvious error in the file name where that error would not be a reasonable redirect. For example: moving "Sheep in a tree.jpg" to "Squirrel in a tree.jpg" when the image does in fact depict a squirrel.
• To perform file name swaps.
• When the original file name contains vandalism. (File renaming criterion #5)

Please note, this ability should be used only in certain circumstances and only if you are absolutely sure that it is not going to break the display of the file on any project. Redirects should never be suppressed if the file is in use on any project. When in doubt, leave a redirect. If you forget to suppress the redirect in case of file name vandalism or you are not fully certain if the original file name is actually vandalism, leave a redirect and tag the redirect for speedy deletion per G2.

The malicious or reckless breaking of file links via the suppressredirect user right is considered an abuse of the file mover right and is grounds for immediate revocation of that right. This message serves as both a notice that you have this right and as an official warning. "keine Freigabe erforderlich"

Guten Abend, Wnme, warum ist hier keine Freigabe erforderlich? Ich hatte auf dem Helpdesk nachgefragt und hatte danach nicht den Eindruck, dass das Prozedere entfallen kann. Unter Commons:Volunteer_Response_Team#If_you_are_NOT_the_copyright_holder wird ein kompliziertes Verfahren beschrieben. Viele Grüße und schönen Abend noch. Hallo @WikiCon2023Uploads, In meiner Doppelfunktion WikiCon und Support-Team-Mitglied habe ich mir erlaubt das Template zu entfernen. Ein Freigabeprozess wird idR. initiiert, wenn durch die Community in Frage gestellt wird, ob der Hochladende über die vollumfänglich Nutzungsrechte verfügt. Nach meiner Info gab es hier bereits im Vorfeld diesen Prozess und alle Beteiligten Personen wurden systematisch um Einverständnis gefragt. Genau das und wer dafür (bei WMDE) verantwortlich ist, würde ich auf die Dateiseiten schreiben. Damit ist für alle nachvollziehbar, an wen sie sich bei Rückfragen zu Rechten wenden können. Das hast du ja gut gemeint, aber alles darüber hinaus wäre nur doppelte Arbeit. Gruß, Wnme 18:17, 28 November 2023 (UTC)

Ich hab noch keine abschließende Meinung dazu, ob hier eine Freigabe erforderlich ist. Allerdings, wenn uns jemand eine Freigabe sendet, dann sollte der Freigabeprozess auch abgeschlossen werden, ansonsten passiert genau das hier, dass wir in den Dateien eine Freigabe erwarten, die aber nie erteilt wurde, was zwangsläufig zur Löschung führt.

Die Dateien hier können gern wiederhergestellt werden, wenn jemand entschieden hat, ob hier eine Freigabe nötig ist. Ich sehe in dem oben genannten noch vorhandenen Video z.B. keine Namensnennung von Urhebern abgebildeter Fotos usw. Wie ist das genau gedacht? --Krd 07:14, 14 December 2023 (UTC)

Danke. Habe bei Antonia Hohenstein (WMDE) nachgefragt. Sie kümmert sich dankenswerterweise um Zustimmungen und Berechtigungen. Bei den Fotos steht in sehr kleiner Schrift eine Quellen- und Lizenz-Angabe dabei. Wahrscheinlich müsste man das aus den Präsentationen noch einmal heraus schreiben, weil in den Videos der BigBlueButton-Räume die Bildqualität ein Lesen dieser Text nicht hergiebt. -- Rillke^(q?) 07:24, 14 December 2023 (UTC)
