A file that you have uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, File:2023 in a nutshell.jpg, is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such works would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a map that has been altered from the original. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.

While the description page states who made this derivative work, it currently doesn't specify who created the original work, so the overall copyright status is unclear. If you did not create the original work depicted in this image, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright.

Please edit the file description and add the missing information, or the file may be deleted. If you created the original content yourself, enter this information as the source. If someone else created the content, the source should be the address to the web page where you found it, the name and ISBN of the book you scanned it from, or similar. You should also name the author, provide verifiable information to show that the content is in the public domain or has been published under a free license by its author, and add an appropriate template identifying the public domain or licensing status, if you have not already done so. Please add the required information for this and other files you have uploaded before adding more files. If you need assistance, please ask at the help desk. Thank you!

Thanks for uploading File:2023 Events Collage concensus.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.

Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own).

The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:2023 Events Collage concensus.jpg]]) and the above demanded information in your request.

1921 collage[edit]

Can you please include the source of the images or the events they represent the next time you make a collage? It's tiring to have to guess blindly to complete the information for your work. Nagae Iku (talk) 17:24, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I apologize for this. Is there any other issue with my collages that I could fix? DementiaGaming (talk) 21:53, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
There were no major issues and you made good choices for the events, but some of the grid cropping was not very aesthetically pleasing. Also, the photo of Reza Shah that you used was taken in 1930, which does not match the timeline of the 1921 coup, which may not be ideal. So I replaced it with a photo taken before and after the coup in 1921, which better represents his image during that time. Because I replaced the photos in the collage that you made, I didn't overwrite your file, and instead uploaded a new version:File:1921 Events Collage V 1.1.jpg Is that okay?
And I have one more question for you that I'm curious about. Why does the saturation of the collages you create always decrease so much? What software are you using to create the collages? Nagae Iku (talk) 07:16, 1 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
[1] (Not a rickroll)
And yes, it is okay to upload a new version of my collages (as long as you credit my user on Ryansean071's collage gallery). Thank you. DementiaGaming (talk) 13:26, 1 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
LOL, thanks for letting me know. However, I can recommend a software that I have been using called Polish photo editor. This is a mobile app (yes, I have been creating collages on my phone because I find it more convenient than using a computer).
Also, I noticed that you just uploaded 1927collage. Can you tell me which eight events you selected (you don't have to tell me the source of the file)? I want to quickly upload a fixed version before the file gets deleted. Nagae Iku (talk) 14:26, 1 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I think I have figured out what most of the grid represent, but I don't know what the fifth gird in clockwise direction represent. Please tell me, thank you! Nagae Iku (talk) 16:35, 1 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I may no longer need your notifications, I already know all the events you have chosen. The eight events you have selected, in clockwise order, are: Nicaraguan Civil War (1926–1927), Metropolis (1927 film), 1927 Gulang earthquake, Northern Expedition, Guangzhou Uprising, Shanghai massacre, Great Mississippi Flood of 1927, and Bath School disaster. I think there are a bit too many Chinese events in this collage, so I plan to replace the Northern Expedition (moved to 1926) and Guangzhou Uprising (less well-known in China compared to the Shanghai massacre) with two events from either SS Principessa Mafalda disaster, 1927 North Tango earthquake, Laurier Palace Theatre fire, or July Revolt of 1927. Nagae Iku (talk) 17:26, 1 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I changed my mind, I want to use Autumn Harvest Uprising instead of Shanghai Massacre. Nagae Iku (talk) 17:52, 1 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Will do. DementiaGaming (talk) 21:28, 1 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
