Tip: Categorizing images
[edit]
Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.
Here's how:
1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:
2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.
[[Category:Category name]]
For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:
[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]
This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".
When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").
Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.CategorizationBot (talk) 11:06, 2 February 2010 (UTC)

Hi Paliano!
Great work with the Coat of arms of the Marquis of Domecq d'Usquain ! one question: on the 2nd party, there are three bands of argent but I think they may be of or, because the 2nd party belongs to Nuñez Villavicencio y Olaguer Feliú and they usually use three bands of or. Maybe I'm wrong ! Thanks ! --Hemingway10 (talk) 04:02, 17 July 2012 (UTC)

File:Alicegloucester2.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.
If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues. |

Maratea COA
[edit]Hi Paliano, I would like to create the Coat of Arms for this Marquisate and upload it into the Wikipedia page. Currently there is only a marquis crown but without the COA.
The COA is the one on top-right of this link: https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Archivo:Wenceslas_Hollar_-_Gonzales_de_Cordoba.jpg
As its a Marquis title, the template to follow for Wikipedia is the template of any Spanish marquisate (ie: marques de Poza), but the only thing that will change will be the content inside the COA that will consist in thow halfs, one above the other.
The upper half is the arms of the Folch de Cardona family. Those arms are the ones to the left of the following COA (the side that has the 3 cardos and the flores de lis): https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ducado_de_Cardona#/media/Archivo:COA_Duke_of_Cardona.svg
The lower half is the arms of the Fernandez de Cordoba/Gran Capitan family. Exactly the ones occupying the 100% of the following COA (the horizontal lines with the chained Boabdil below: https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casa_de_Comares#/media/Archivo:Escudo_de_Valenzuela_(Córdoba).svg
Once the Coat is done, I would like to upload it on that Marquisate page and substitute the single crown that appears now.I hope you can help with this! Many thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pilukaenea (talk • contribs) 07:36, 17 April 2020 (UTC)
