@Andy Dingley: After some research I would say it is OK. In 1995 France extended copyright from 50 to 70 years, affecting only works still copyrighted, so this image would be PD in France since 1982, before the URAA date. --Sporti (talk) 06:19, 13 April 2015 (UTC)

Hi Sporti. I'm doing license reviews for all the flora uploads from this source. I assume the uploads marked as unknown author are Benjamin Zwittnig's own work, and you've left the author as unknown only on images without a different author indicated at the source? I added him as author to a few of these, but I figured it could be done more easily later with AWB by going through Category:CC-BY-2.5-SI. Let me know if that's right, and whether you planned on doing that when you were done uploading from that source or if you want me to. I wouldn't mind, and AWB could do this all in a short amount of time. INeverCry 21:49, 12 June 2015 (UTC)

@INeverCry: I guess we can assume he is the author (it's not stated explicitly though, says he is the editor of the page). If you can add it to exsisting uploads with AWB, I will add it in future uploads. --Sporti (talk) 07:24, 13 June 2015 (UTC)

It seems very likely to me that he's the author since he puts them up under an attribution license with only his name, while he labels all the other images uploaded by other photographers with their name on each separate image. I've only seen metadata for two different cameras with all the ones I've reviewed so far. The images are of uniform quality and style as well. INeverCry 08:00, 13 June 2015 (UTC)

This notification (and probably others regarding the same Flickr photostream) is untrue. Last month, the file was license-reviewed by Leoboudv to be released under cc-zero license. Today, Josve05a undid this LR and requested speedy deletion, presumably because of Creative Commons Public Domain Mark problem. However this is not the issue here. Original file is now licensed under copyright but it was reviewed to be under irrevocable free license cc-zero one month ago. M★Zaplotnik ^(edits) 18:02, 23 November 2015 (UTC)

That license review of cc-zero was gross error. As the reviewer-bot can attest to (see edit summaries) it was under the same license tag (PD Mark 1.0) as it is now. Rovinjske slike

Kup slik, ki so bile v Category:Unidentified locations in Slovenia sem pravkar prestavil v Category:Rovinj. Lokacijo sem določil na podlagi napisov na nekaterih slikah, poleg tega pa sem upošteval, da se fotograf ni mogel tako hitro premikati, da zaporedne slike ne bi bile slikane v Rovinju. Prosim, preveri za ostale naložene "Slovenia DSC XXXX (XXXXXXXXXXX).jpg" iz Category:Unidentified locations in Slovenia, ker se mi zdi, da tudi ostale niso bile posnete v Sloveniji. --romanm (talk) 21:42, 30 December 2015 (UTC)

Endless "Uploading" state

I saw in the logs that some of your tasks are stuck in this endless "uploading" state. This bug was previously reported at phab:T125779 but there wasn't enough data to debug it (the oauth tokens were lost). If possible, could you give me your session id so I can run the upload in pywikibot debug mode? If not, can I have your permission of searching within all the sessions to find your tokens? Well, there're technical issues. The information extractor and video downloader I use is youtube-dl, which apparently output neither the license nor a link to author page, when testing with some random videos, and adding {{YouTube CC-BY}} when it is not is clearly a irresponsible idea. {{From YouTube}} might be good, but coding such for a single source (YouTube) doesn't seem cool, without matching the list of extractors to the list of source templates we have. I'm running out of disk space. Just deleted some videos (total 4.4G) in emergency (videos for server side uploads are kept a week). I'm not sure how will the current tasks behave. Yeah, looking through the code, I just can't understand how it went wrong. There's two tasks failed because of the 100% disk usage on encoding01, and a few because of some bad configuration (sorry) on the second backend (encoding02) I was trying to enable. FYI: the tasks that failed had an error message of "av_interleaved_write_frame(): File too large", probably due to the hard limit of 10GB filesystem usage I put on every task. @Zhuyifei1999: It's hard to predict how big will the file be though, File:Kašelj - Rudnik via Orle.webm is just under 4GB and only 26 m long, some are well over 1h. But if you could calculate it in advance, v2c might deny converting files, that will end up too big... I have no idea how to predict the final file size. I do, however, have a download size limit of 5G. Sometimes the converted file goes to twice the size of original file (usually large videos), sometimes it's only half of the size of original (usually small videos). It just seems too unpredictable. As for killing the tasks, I think I have enough processing power and storage space on each host to keep other tasks running without killing them. --Zhuyifei1999 (talk) 13:24, 22 February 2016 (UTC)

Just checked, the mp4 version of File:Kašelj - Rudnik via Orle.webm from youtube is only 1.3G, so the transcoding tripled the size. (maybe due to the video having too much motion, being hard to encode at constant quality?) --Zhuyifei1999 (talk) 14:00, 22 February 2016 (UTC)

Hmm, it would be a new task anyways. Task parameters cannot be changed once submitted, and because of these large files, I cannot split the task into several parts and ask the user what new filename he wants when the filename is invalid. For '.', ':','?', '/', only '.' can technically be in a valid mediawiki filename. So a replacement rule would be needed, but it can be way too complex, and I'd rather leave them to users to fix manually. --Zhuyifei1999 (talk) 08:05, 26 February 2016 (UTC)

User:Rillke/MwJSBot.js::chunkedUpload is has built-in a lot of different cases it handles. You are uploading from WMF-labs, right? Can you throttle the bandwidth or otherwise slow down the process somehow (e.g. a sleep) while streaming a chunk? @Rillke: when that message was posted only last chunk fail with uploads of 1.1+GB videos, still no idea why. Yesterday a new error (before reducing chunk size to 4MB) a new error about swift in codfw started to appear (not sure if it's last chunk, first chunk, or random chunk). Thus chunk size was reduced to 4MB for any new task submitted. I'm not sure whether this will actually workaround the issue. --Zhuyifei1999 (talk) 03:16, 10 March 2016 (UTC)

DownloadError: ERROR: giving up after 0 fragment retries

Can you try that file again? I just set the retry count to 10, and ran it to force YouTube to finish generating all fragments. Next time if "ERROR: giving up after 10 fragment retries" (note that it's a 10) occurs (sometime it happens for large fragmented videos), restarting the task should fix it --Zhuyifei1999 (talk) 11:19, 26 March 2016 (UTC)

Tako velja tudaj za vse reprodukcije fotografij, razglednic ali 2D umetniških del (Commons:When to use the PD-Art tag). Vršič

Zdravo, Sporti, Vršič se tu ne nanaša na prelaz Vršič, ampak na goro Vršič (1897 m) v Krnskem pogorju: Med soško fronto je bil severozahodni greben Vršiča, ki se nad planino Slatenik končuje s Kalom (na avstro-ogrski strani se je med vojno imenoval Vršič Vorstellung, 1698 m) in Lukeževim brdom, eno najbolj krvavih in zaradi prepadnih travnatih strmin tudi najteže dostopnih bojišč v Zgornjem Posočju.[11]
