First steps tutorial

Our first steps help file and our FAQ will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy. You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold contributing here and assume good faith for the intentions of others. This is a wiki ‒ it is really easy.

Getting help

More information is available at the Community Portal. You may ask questions at the Help desk, Village Pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (direct access). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at Commons talk:Licensing.

Goodies, tips and tricks
  • Put Babel boxes on your user page so others know what languages you can speak and indicate your Graphics abilities.
  • All your uploads are stored in your personal Gallery
  • Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~
  • Use the CommonSense tool to find good categories for your files (then other people can find them too!)
  • To link to an image page, write this: [[:Image:Foo.jpg]], it makes this: Image:Foo.jpg
  • If you're copying files from another project, be sure to use the CommonsHelper

Hello I am myself the author of the image- Rachel Sun is my own name in photo which I can prove as it is on Art Price . I therefore have given full agreement fot his image as I am the only one who have copyrights on it. I also have written permission of the artist which is a close relation.

(On peut se tutoyer, c'est comme vous/tu voulez/veut ;-) ) Le site a effectivement connu des problèmes liés à la mort d'un serveur qui héberge beaucoup de nos applications techniques, comme l'outil « galerie ». C'est presque rentré dans l'ordre aujourd'hui. Je suis administratrice, donc j'ai pu supprimer l'image en double. Je vais examiner le reste des images. Photo du buste Général DELFINO[edit]

Bonjour, J'ai laissé un message en Anglais à l'interlocuteur qui soulève le problème de cette photo. J'espère qu'il le verra et que celui-ci sera lu. Je n'ai pas utilisé Wiki Commons depuis longtemps et ai beaucoup de lacunes en informatique. Je voudrais donc de l'aide pour terminer cette importation. La photo a été prise par Michèle Mayer, épouse de l'artiste et Présidente de l'Association l'oeuvre de Marcel Mayer. Elle est pleinement d'accord afin de contribuer à informer sur l'oeuvre de l'artiste et peut donner une autorisation écrite. Je n'ai pas vu comment choisir la lincese en important la photo. Looking for help in french[edit]

Hello I am looking for help in french. I would like to put the same license that have been put on pictures I have imported formerly ( see page Marcel Mayer or Paradisio on Wikipedai)but all this is allready complicated for me and much to difficult in English . My aim is only to illustrate the page Général Louis Delfino with his historical portrait bust ( as there is no illustration ). Normally something that should be usefull for wiki.
