Hello, just a quick note. I noticed this edit. The deletion requests are transcluded in daily pages, or when closed, in archives. If you add a category to a DR without <noinclude></noinclude>, you concretely add the whole page or the whole archive to the category. Nothing very serious but if you add the category in the wikitext between <noinclude> and </noinclude>, then only the DR is righlty categorized. Which you will easily understand, help us to find the DR more easily in the future.

Hoi, I fixed all the categories that weren't noincluded. Category page shows the DR daily/archive pages, but I think MediaWiki caches the category page from server-side, so maybe giving some time to server will allow them to automagically disappear. — regards, Revi 17:31, 5 January 2018 (UTC)

Why this?

Filemover right

I just had to request to move some files 📁 after accidentally naming them incorrectly, I find myself doing that some of the time and wonder at how many edits it would be wise to request the filemover right, are people with around 10.000 edits usually accepted or should I do a couple of thousand more. cannot upload image on Wikipedia page

Hi revi, I wonder whether you - being a Wiki admin - can help me. I am trying to add a pic to this page: <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henoch_(journal)> It is the *.jpg file mentioned in the template on the right side. It's a normal, free-licensed file. MediaWiki:Titleblacklist

위의 두 문서를 읽던 중에 본 MediaWiki:Titleblacklist와 관련하여 말씀드릴 부분이 있습니다. 다름이 아니라, 제가 기억하기로는 Titleblacklist에서의 *의 경우에는 띄어쓰기를 불문하고 제한하는 것으로 알고 있는데, 그렇다면 ‘오피’라는 단어는 좀 다소 모호한 부분이 아닌가 싶기도 합니다. 가령, ‘오피스’ 같은 쓰임이나 ‘피오피’, 혹은 ‘쿠오피오’ 등과 같은 지명도 제지될 여지가 있어보이고요. 뭐, 공용에서 이 표제어로 파일이 생성될 일이 얼마나 있을지는 모르겠으나, 이것을 막음으로서 얻을 수 있는 실익이 막지 않음으로 인해 생기는 문제보다 크지 않다면이야, 굳이 포함시키지 않아도 되지 않을까라고 생각이 드네요. 감사합니다.

타이틀블랙리스트가 해당 스팸을 걸러내지 못하여 (어째서인지는 저도 잘 모르겠습니다) 필터를 현재 적용 중에 있습니다. 필터가 정상 작동하는지 확인 후 금지 정책을 활성화하려고 (현재는 기록만 합니다.) 주기적으로 편집필터 기록을 활용하고 있습니다만 아직은 걸린 게 없네요. .*오피.*는 1월 중순에 **오피 이름을 단 스패머들이 며칠간 계정 몇십개를 양산하여 관련 파일이름을 사용하는 일이 발생하여 해당 행위를 긴급히 막고자 추가했었습니다. 필터에 오작동이 감지될 시 문제되는 형식의 기여만을 걸러낼 수 있도록 조치하겠습니다. — regards, Revi 12:51, 10 February 2018 (UTC)

위키미디어 공용에는 "자유 저작물"만을 올릴 수 있습니다. 가입한지 얼마 되지 않으신 경우 이 개념을 오해하는 경우가 잦은데, 자유 저작물은 저작물의 "상업적 사용, 2차 저작물의 창작"이 제한 없이 허용되어야 합니다. 본인이 사진을 "촬영"한 경우 문제가 없으나 본인이 직접 촬영하지 않은 사진의 경우 저작권자의 허가가 필요합니다.
제가 지금 PC방에서 로그인 중이라 삭제된 기여를 직접 보지는 못하고, 사용자 토론에 도착한 알람만으로 판단컨대, 직접 찍지 않으신 사진을 올리신 것으로 판단됩니다. 사진의 저작권자의 허가문이 없는 경우 해당 사진은 위키미디어 공용에서 사용할 수 없습니다.

Unlocked INeverCry socks

Lately INeverCry has started operating on other Wikimedia projects again, despite their WMF global ban it's currently not usual for either stewards or the WMFOffice to lock their socks, maybe it would be good to keep an eye on Category:Sockpuppets of INeverCry, I find it odd how Russavia's immediately get locked by the WMFOFfice and have all of their uploads deleted while INeverCry's socks 🧦 only get blocked locally and their deletion requests are often left untouched, maybe you do have the technical skills to find how to stop INeverCry's trolling, he had also insulted me with a racist slur which could also be considered offensive towards you so I hope that you can understand why many people don't like this troll's precence here. --Donald Trung 『徵國單』 (Talk 💬) (WikiProject Numismatics 💴) (Articles 📚) 12:00, 25 March 2018 (UTC)

Guanaco had the idea 💡 to organise the Wikimedia Commons sockpuppetry categories based on chronology, but as this was a bold move it was reverted, I think that if there's plenty of need for it we could change it to a more efficient system, alphabetical orders make sense for images, but not for something like sockpuppet categories. --Donald Trung 『徵國單』 (Talk 💬) (WikiProject Numismatics 💴) (Articles 📚) 14:20, 25 March 2018 (UTC)

KOGL

After seeing the arguments you made in the KOGL deletion request I'm honestly not sure if it would be wise to upload images in that category, would you advise against uploading images with that license? As I prefer not to upload images with licenses that might become problematic in the future 🔮 which is why I prefer uploading PD images and those with OTRS permission. 안녕하세요. 이 사진 [2]에 대한 삭제 토론[3]을 확인했습니다. 제가 영어가 능숙하지 않다보니 한글로 적는것이 나을 것 같아서 이 곳에다가 적습니다. 대통령을 재앙이나 닭 등등 으로 부르는 것은 표현의 자유라고 라고 생각하지만 동시에 위키미디어 공용의 규칙[4]을 보니 폭행이나 공격(attack)을 금지한다고 쓰여져 있습니다. 이 attack의 사전적 의미[5]를 찾아보니 물리적 폭행 뿐만 아니라 '(말이나 글로 하는) 공격, 맹비난'역시 포함되어 있더라고요. 그리고 또 한가지는 사진이 '문재인 탄핵 시위'와 관련된 문서 또는 문단에서 쓰인다면 정상적인 범주로 볼 여지도 있겠으나, 적용된 문서를 보면 여러 국가 위키피디아 '평창 올림픽 관련 시위' 문단에 첨부되어 있습니다. 제가 생각하기에 이 업로더는 처음부터 대통령의 주요 업적에 들어가는 '올림픽 개최'라는 타이틀 문서에 '한국의 보수 지지자들의 정치적 주장(=시위)을 홍보하고, 자신과 반대 이념을 갖은 정권의 대통령을 조롱-비난하려는' 목적으로 업로드 했다고 생각합니다. 한국에서 대표적인 탄핵 시위의 당사자 '박근혜' 문서[6][7]를 봐도 시위하는 사진은 나오되 모욕, 명예훼손과 같은 단어가 있거나 하진 않습니다. 그 당시에 입에 담지 못할 팻말의 사진들이 많았지만 그런것들을 다 배제하고 '시위를 한 모습'의 사진만 추가 한 것입니다. 저는 이것이 '공격(attack)'이 배제된 사진이라고 생각합니다. 이런것들을 고려해주셨으면 합니다. 여기까지가 제가 생각하는 삭제의 이유입니다. 또한 여기에 대한 revi님의 견해도 여쭤봅니다. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mobius6 (talk • contribs) 07:28, 11 April 2018 (UTC)

삭제 정책 의 해당 조항 ("intention of threatening, harassing, or attacking another person or user. ")의 의미는 공용의 사용자 A가 사용자 B에게 욕설 등 인신 공격을 해서는 안 된다는 것일 뿐입니다. 해당 사진의 위키백과에서의 사용은 공용에서 논할 주제가 아니므로 넘어가고, "한국의 보수 지지자들의 정치적 주장(=시위)을 홍보하고, 자신과 반대 이념을 갖은 정권의 대통령을 조롱-비난하려는" 사진 또한 위키미디어 공용의 목적에 부합한다면 충분히 허용될 수 있습니다. 이러한 사진은 "이런 주장을 하는 사람도 있다"는 점에서 충분히 공용의 목적에서 정의하는 "Educational"한 목적에 부합한다고 볼 수 있습니다. — regards, Revi 07:33, 11 April 2018 (UTC)

Bank of Korea

The Bank of Korea (South Korea) issued two books on Korean currency (see: part 1 & Part 2), if you are ever going to ask them to work together with Wikimedia projects, could you make a special mention of these two books? Jjw's renamer request

Hi -revi... I hope you are well. Could I ask you to either comment or close this one way or the other? My concern is that I cannot tell whether renames like this or this are reasonable or not, and we don't get many Korean speakers looking at user rights requests. One was denied by Krassotkin, but I can't tell whether the denial was reasonable either. If you don't want to close it because you feel involved, I'd appreciate your comments on those two specifically, and I will close it based on your comments. Proposed deletion

New beta feature on first wikis: the FileExporter

Hi! Thanks again for your input on the new “Move files to Commons” feature. On June 25th, it was released as a beta feature to first wikis: mediawiki.org and German, Persian and Arabic Wikipedia. Some improvements have been made since. If you want to export local files from these first wikis to Wikimedia Commons, you’ll need to enable the beta feature “FileExporter” on these wikis. Hi, -revi. Garam uploaded a lot of photos. Two of them were deleted in Commons:Deletion requests/File:Kim Moosung and Moon Jaein in 2015.jpg due to failed license review. File:Kim Jongin's press conference in 2016.jpg comes from the same website, but here you reviewed the license. Hi. I just tried to see if I have archived the versions in archive.is or archive.org, but I forgot that process when I reviewed that file. (I usually do so, to prevent situations like this.) Per DR, I believe there should be some more credible reason, other than "other file was deleted" or "there is no CCL logo now". Per the old DR, I am certain there was CCL 2.0 KR link in the blog. LR 틀에 날짜, URL, 이름을 적는 행위 자체가 틀을 삽입하는 시점에 해당 저작물이 공용에 있는 라이선스로 배포된다는 것을 확인한다는 선언입니다.

Northern United Football Club history

I have been sent a message from wiki

A file that you have uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, File:Northern United Football Club.jpg, is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such works would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a map that has been altered from the original. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work. While the description page states who made this derivative work, it currently doesn't specify who created the original work, so the overall copyright status is unclear. If you did not create the original work depicted in this image, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. 

Please edit the file description and add the missing information, or the file may be deleted. If you created the original content yourself, enter this information as the source. If someone else created the content, the source should be the address to the web page where you found it, the name and ISBN of the book you scanned it from, or similar. You should also name the author, provide verifiable information to show that the content is in the public domain or has been published under a free license by its author, and add an appropriate template identifying the public domain or licensing status, if you have not already done so. Please add the required information for this and other files you have uploaded before adding more files. If you need assistance, please ask at the help desk.

I wrote this history book in 2015 and thought it would be appropriate to have this history also avaiable through Wiki. The photos contaiend within the book were all club photos of teams etc, while there is no copy right on these photos, givne that these photos were taken by Club members. The Club also does not exist and ceased to exist in 1996.

What do I need to do, so this book can be made accessible on wiki?

Hi. Could you please tell me how Template:Uploaded from Korean Wikipedia is inserted to uploads from Korean Wikipedia such as File:Daegok3-pf.jpg? I want to create a tracking category for uploads from Persian Wikipedia in order to set up a page like User:-revi/kowiki for fawiki. 제가 다른 도구로 파일을 업로드하게 되므로 업로드 계정은 제 계정이 되는 단점이 존재하긴 합니다. 아니면 서버 권한을 받아서 직접 올려야 되는데, 저는 그 권한까지는 없고 그 권한이 있는 사람들은 이 요청은 처리를 안 해서 몇달씩 대기를 타는 게 부지기수라서요. — regards, Revi 16:42, 14 November 2018 (UTC)

추가적으로 질문드립니다. MediaWiki:Gadget-Cat-a-lot.js를 보면, {{Unreferenced}}에 대해서만, 제거하도록 되어 있는데, 한국어 판에서는 {{분류 필요}}도 제거되도록 하려면, MediaWiki:Gadget-Cat-a-lot.js에서 {{분류 필요}}도 제거 하도록 코드를 추가해야 하나요? 아니면 다른 해결책이 있나요? HotCat의 경우에는 로컬 페이지가 따로 있어서 수정하면 되지만, Cat-a-lot은 한국어 위키백과에 도입되지 않은 상태라 어떻게 처리해야 하는지 궁금합니다.-Priviet (talk) 12:20, 30 November 2018 (UTC)

Multilingual captions beta testing

The Structured Data on Commons team has begun beta testing of the first feature, multilingual file captions, and all community members are invited to test it out. Captions is based on designs discussed with the community[8][9] and the team is looking forward to hearing about testing. If all goes well during testing, captions will be turned on for Commons around the second week of January, 2019.

Multilingual captions are plain text fields that provide brief, easily translatable details of a file in a way that is easy to create, edit, and curate. Captions are added during the upload process using the UploadWizard, or they can be added directly on any file page on Commons. Adding captions in multiple languages is a simple process that requires only a few steps.

The details:

  • There is a help page available on how to use multilingual file captions.
  • Testing will take place on Beta Commons. If you don’t yet have an account set up there, you’ll need one.
  • Beta Commons is a testbed, and not configured exactly like the real Commons site, so expect to see some discrepancies with user interface (UI) elements like search.
  • Structured Data introduces the potential for many important page changes to happen at once, which could flood the recent changes list. Because of this, Enhanced Recent Changes is enabled as it currently is at Commons, but with some UI changes.
  • Feedback and commentary on the file caption functionality are welcome and encouraged on the discussion page for this post.
  • Some testing has already taken place and the team are aware of some issues. A list of known issues can be seen below.
  • If you discover a bug/issue that is not covered in the known issues, please file a ticket on Phabricator and tag it with the “Multimedia” tag. Use this link to file a new task already tagged with "Multimedia."
