Thanks for uploading File:Sixtynine_104181.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the No permission since tag with on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded (:File:Sixtynine_104181.jpg ) and the above demanded information in your request. |

File:Vis_vit1.jpg has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.
The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion. (It is not necessary to request undeletion if using VRT; the file will be automatically restored at the conclusion of the process.) Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

A file that you have uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, File:Sixtynine_LBVV.jpg, was missing information about where it comes from or who created it, which is needed to verify its copyright status. The file probably has been deleted. If you've got all required information, request undeletion providing this information and the link to the concerned file (
:File:Sixtynine_LBVV.jpg ).
If you created the content yourself, enter If someone else created the content, or if it is based on someone else's work, the source should be the address to the web page where you found it, the name and ISBN of the book you scanned it from, or similar. You should also name the author, provide verifiable information to show that the content is in the public domain or has been published under a free license by its author, and add an appropriate template identifying the public domain or licensing status, if you have not already done so. Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Please add the required information for this and other files you have uploaded before adding more files. If you need assistance, please ask at the help desk. Thank you! |
- I have tagged this file because it was stated as "own work" and I found the statement dubious (maybe because it is a downsampled version with no meta-data or because of your history as a contributor). In any case, try not to take it personally and please don't ignore this message, contact me instead if you want to discuss the issue. Eusebius (talk) 12:31, 25 January 2010 (UTC)
It's my own work. I upload this picture, because the man on it (Vis Vitalis) asked me for his statement in Wiki (http://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%92%D0%B8%D1%81_%D0%92%D0%B8%D1%82%D0%B0%D0%BB%D0%B8%D1%81). He can't understand how it works and ask me for help to do it. In the first case I was put wrong license type, because I couldn't understand it by myself (it is my first work with Wiki). P.S. Sorry for very bad English, I'm from Russia :-). Redacid (talk) 13:58, 25 January 2010 (UTC)
- I have tagged this picture because it is not an original, it is a web-sized picture, and because you have uploaded other pictures taken from the internet. If you are the photographer, would you be able to post the original picture? --Eusebius (talk) 20:20, 25 January 2010 (UTC)
I can't, because the original is missed. If you don't want this picture on Wiki, please tell me, how can I put it on the Wiki's statement other way? Redacid (talk) 00:06, 26 January 2010 (UTC)
- OK can you just confirm that you are the photographer then? --Eusebius (talk) 06:29, 26 January 2010 (UTC)
How can I do this? Can you just tell me, how can I put it from the other source? Redacid (talk) 08:34, 26 January 2010 (UTC)
- Simply tell me who is the photographer, who took the photo? --Eusebius (talk) 08:49, 26 January 2010 (UTC)
For this photo: Ekaterina Petrova (she's my friend, don't wanna to spend her time with it and she agree me to place this photo there). For photo Vis_vit1.jpg (you delete it) the photographer is Nikolay Sporik (the same thing). On the photo is Vis Vitalis, who asked me to put this photos on the statement about him (http://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%92%D0%B8%D1%81_%D0%92%D0%B8%D1%82%D0%B0%D0%BB%D0%B8%D1%81), because he's don't wanna to spend his time with it too. I decided to put me as author, because they agree that picture to public domain and the man on it is agree for place it to statement. It is possible or may be you can help me to do this right way? Redacid (talk) 10:06, 26 January 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for the information. I sure can help. Please don't put yourself as the author when you're not, always give credit to the creator of the work. I'm afraid we need, for each picture, a formal authorization from the author, because we cannot assume that they have understood and agreed to the free license release (it is not a matter of whether we trust you or not, we systematically need a clear statement from the author). In the case of this picture, please contact Mrs Petrova and have her send to permissions-commons@wikimedia.org an e-mail in this form (Russian version). Once the permission e-mail has been sent, please put OTRS pending in the "permission" field of the image page to indicate that there is a permission awaiting for processing. The whole procedure and explanations can be found COM:OTRS (Russian version). The e-mail can be sent in English or in Russian. Please don't hesitate to ask if you have questions. --Eusebius (talk) 10:28, 26 January 2010 (UTC)
I'm sorry, but I can't contact Mrs Petrova & Mr Sporik. I decided to put two another photos with Vis Vitalis (there is really my own work, but they not too much good). And I have a question: should I send e-mail in this form (Russian version) if it is my own work? Redacid (talk) 15:09, 23 February 2010 (UTC)
- Only if the picture is already published elsewhere, just to show that it is not a copyright violation. If it's not published elsewhere, no need to go through the OTRS process, just upload as own work. --Eusebius (talk) 15:34, 23 February 2010 (UTC)
Copyright violations[edit]
Hello Redacid.
You have uploaded one or more files that are copyright violations. You have done so despite requests from editors not to do so, and despite their instructions. See Commons:Licensing for the copyright policy on Wikimedia Commons. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules by subject matter useful. This is your last warning. The next time you upload a file that violates copyright, you will be blocked. Please leave me a message if you have further questions. |
Eusebius (talk) 12:31, 25 January 2010 (UTC)
- Describe what it is about in a short sentence. (What does the image show?)
- State the author and the date of creation. If you made it yourself, say so explicitly. If it is from another Wikimedia user, link to the person's local user page. Best to use CommonsHelper.
- If you did not create the file yourself, state the source you got it from.
- Add a copyright tag - images without an appropriate license tag will be deleted.
- Add the image to one or more gallery pages and/or appropriate categories, so it can be found by others. To find out where an image belongs, you can use CommonsSense.
If you copied the file from another wiki, please copy all information given there and say who uploaded it to that wiki. Use CommonsHelper.
It is recommended to use Template:Information to put that information on the description page. Have a look at Template talk:Information for details of the use of this template.
You can edit the description page and change the text. Uploading a new version of the file does not change the description of the file.
Please add as much information as possible. If there is not sufficient information, the file may have to be deleted. For more information, follow the Commons:First steps guide. If you need help or have questions, please ask at the Help desk.
Thank you. This message was added automatically by Nikbot, if you need some help about it, ask its master (Filnik) or go to the Commons:Help desk. --Filnik 17:41, 25 January 2010 (UTC)
Please do not recreate deleted content[edit]
Eusebius (talk) 20:16, 25 January 2010 (UTC)
- It is not a matter of whether the subject agreed to the photo being released (although in some cases it is necessary), we need a release from the photographer. Given that it is a small-size picture present on various websites, and that you did not upload an original picture but only this version, it is less than obvious that you are actually the photographer. --Eusebius (talk) 20:18, 25 January 2010 (UTC)
Tip: Categorizing images[edit]
Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.
Here's how:
1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:
2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".
When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").
Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.CategorizationBot (talk) 11:01, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
