Answer

The problem with the two pictures above is, that the layout of the cans is also under copyright and your trival reproduction can not grant you copyright. So you need the written permission of the producer/designer of the can to upload them. --Schlurcher (talk) 13:30, 12 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The examples you put up are also not allowed on commons (but they are on the en-wikipedia, whre fair use is allowed), but it is a free projekt and so there is no control of upload. Fair use is not allowed on commons. --Schlurcher (talk) 12:42, 13 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Supreme Deliciousness!
Tip: Add categories to your files
Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.

Re: gaza flotilla picture

Hi. I uploaded a new version of this map in which the Golan Heights zone is painted with stripes. --Montgomery (talk) 22:51, 15 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I use Inkscape, but I'm a "begginer user" of this program. It's pretty simple to use. --Montgomery (talk) 11:15, 16 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Source of Israel images

It's right there in the source entry of the information box, or isn't that enough? Richardprins (talk) 11:55, 13 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah they're not verified by me, They're just a conversion of File:Oldtidens Israel & Judea.svg to English and to more conventional colors. If it makes you feel any better, the borders and names are the same (as far as I can tell) as the widely used file File:Levant 830.svg. If you think that's enough I could search for another verification, but you could help me as well.
Richardprins (talk) 15:52, 13 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You are right about the domino thing but the other files I cited are so widely used, somebody must have noticed a mistake if ther was one; but I suspect you have? Do you think Israel and Judah are too large? I'm interested Richardprins (talk) 18:05, 13 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What is "entirely your own work" here - the red dot, nothing more. So who created the map and is the map published under a free license or public domain. --Martin H. (talk) 01:12, 17 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello,

I revert you edit in File:SnowGolan (22).JPG. If you have any query pleas note it in the talk page. Geagea (talk) 22:07, 13 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Wikimedia Commons has a specific topic

Please don't post messages that are not relevant to Wikimedia Commons. The site does not host articles, only media files such as images, video and audio. Neither should the site be used for chatting, promotion, personal webpages or other such things. For more detail, see Commons:Project scope. Thank you.

First, edit war is not the way that the things work in Commons. The file description by uploader wasn't wrong. If you want to made any change it goes through the talk page. Pleas respect others work. Your request to change may or may not accepted, you still have to respect that. You can see the correct way to act her.

Second, try to avoid adding expression like "Israeli-occupied" etc. It Invites additional supplement like "Israeli-occupied after syrian attack" ect. Any way if you want to make change, you do it through the talk page.

Thirdly, try not to remove Hebrew (or any language) description from the files like in this case.

Geagea (talk) 19:48, 14 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You are continuing to abuse this site. Do not change the captions on my photos to introduce your POV. --Gilabrand (talk) 08:42, 1 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Stop editwaring her and stop uploading ner version of the file her. Use the talk page if you willing to made change in the description and dont make a chenges without without an ended discussions. Geagea (talk) 17:51, 2 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your Flickr uploads

Hello "Supreme Deliciousness"!

Thanks a lot for your contributions! Thank you for transferring images from Flickr to Commons! Two hints ahead:

  • Always upload the highest resolution of a photograph that is available on flickr
  • You can use this tool for your flickr uploads. It makes the hole procedure much easier and faster for you!

Thank you for your support! Greetings, High Contrast (talk) 12:10, 15 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not delete messages

Please do not delete messages from others on project pages such as COM:AN/U. Such behaviour is disruptive. -mattbuck (Talk) 20:56, 13 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If you want the personal information removed, fine, but you do NOT have the right to wholesale remove comments, especially when they're complaints about your behaviour. Also, as it says on my talkpage, use my talkpage rather than emailing me please. -mattbuck (Talk) 21:00, 13 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

final warning (edit war)

Supreme Deliciousness, please stop your conflict with Kàkhvelokákh immediately! As far as I know and in the eyes of the international community the en:Golan Heights belong to Syria and are occupied by Israel. That's a fact! And of course as a result of this conflict people died and buildings are devasted, but we actually don't know who did what. As in every other conflict humanity dies first, so please show respect to all people killed or wounded in this ongoing war and stop your (edit) war! axpdeHello! 11:37, 14 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Wait please Axpde... I believe both Drork and Supreme Deliciousness are making good faith attempts to implement my suggestions in Commons:Administrators'_noticeboard/User_problems#Stop_the_war. I have reviewed all of Drork's recent edits. Most were good, and SD has already picked up most of those that weren't. I think things are going forward. Please take a look at the proposal and let me know if you're not happy with it - it seems that Drork/SD/Geagea are all ok with it, and they are the primary parties involved. --99of9 (talk) 12:07, 17 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Well, most of his recent edits were just commented "Undo revision ### by Supreme Deliciousness" ... doesn't sound very constructive to me :(
If both sides are pleased and the edit wars are over this warning is void, but else I'll block both sides to bring them to terms. I called for sanity frequently enough, didn't I? axpdeHello! 12:39, 17 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
In general they are undoing or editing the old edits that did not conform to my suggested new rules, and leaving the ones that did. I intend to follow this fairly closely too. All I'm saying is don't pull the trigger accidentally, make sure you check if they're going in the neutral direction or not. --99of9 (talk) 13:27, 17 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Per this closure of a discussion involving you, you have been "...officially warned not to make w:WP:Personal attacks. That includes statements which you believe to be true that you cannot produce evidence for." I of course did not issue that warning but am bringing it to your attention in the event that you were not aware of it.Biosketch (talk) 10:05, 14 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File:Syria location map2.svg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

POV pushing

We take a mightily dim view of POV pushers on Commons. You have done nothing but POV push since you've come here. In particular, removing Israel categories from places that you don't personally recognize as Israel is not appropriate. Using the term "Israel occupied" while using the term "Kurdish controlled" is another example - let alone adding a tangential bit about Israeli control of the Golan Heights to a map about the Syrian civil war (it's not relevant, and it only will lead to fighting over nationalism).

Long story short: knock it off with the jingoism or you'll be blocked.

Thanks. Magog the Ogre (talk) (contribs) 20:48, 27 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop your pov pushing. There has been agreement before at commons not to use Israeli category's for places in the golan heights.
The area is not Israel. Israel is occupying part of Syrias land, so a map showing military control of Syria should of course also show the foreign Israeli military occupation of Syria. --Supreme Deliciousness (talk) 13:24, 28 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Your claim about not adding Israel is completely untrue. Let me make this very clear: we do not remove categories from images for disputed territories, whether it is Armenia/Azerbaijan, Israel/Palestine, or whatever the case. The same goes in reverse: people may not remove Syria categories from Golan Heights either. It doesn't matter whether you agree with them or not.
I haven't missed your refusal to acknowledge this, despite many previous warnings. As such, I've blocked your account for three days. I repeat, Commons looks very dimly on nationalist POV pushing.
Please stop your actions or you may be blocked indefinitely. Magog the Ogre (talk) (contribs) 20:59, 28 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Just a reminder that we have previously hammered out Commons:Disputed territories for exactly this situation, and you agreed to abide by it. It specifically says that (for images of plants in the Golan Heights) you can change Category:Flora of Israel to Category:Flora of the Golan Heights but as Magog says, you should not just remove Category:Flora of Israel. --99of9 (talk) 22:09, 28 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Please note that File:Syrian civil war 2.png, which you recently uploaded is subject to quick deletion procedure. Seemingly, this also has to do with the previous incident above, described by user:Magog the Ogre and user:99of9.Greyshark09 (talk) 21:14, 6 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The neutral and accurate word to describe Israels occupation of Syria's land is "occupation", not "controlled". --Supreme Deliciousness (talk) 05:08, 18 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Setting aside whether it's neutral to say one side is "controlling" and another is "occupying", the proper course of action then is to update the template, not remove the template and thus all the other languages. And the proper course of action is to bring the issue to the talk page when changing the text, not just reverting without comment.
