File:Visa_policy_of_Nepal.png[edit]

I saw you change the colors on the map Visa_policy_of_Nepal.png. For all visa maps in french Wikivoyage there are legends in the description and we use them for all countries. If you change the color could you also think to change the legend or let me know the changes. I don't follow all the visa policy maps...--Adehertogh (talk) 06:10, 9 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Myanmar voa and evisa together[edit]

Do you insist on using the same color for VoA and eVisa for Myanmar citizens unlike in any other map just to cause another scandal or you actually have a rationale?--Twofortnights (talk) 14:33, 9 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

File:People's Republic of China Biometric passport.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

You currently appear to be participating in an edit war. Users are expected to collaborate with others, and once it is known that there is a disagreement should discuss the issues on the relevant talk page rather than repeatedly undoing other users’ contributions. If necessary you can ask for more input at Commons:Dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to ask for temporary page protection. If you continue to edit war, you may be blocked from editing – even if you are right about the content issue.

Your account has been blocked[edit]

Zhuyifei1999 (talk) 13:58, 10 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Unblock request declined

This blocked user asked to be unblocked, but one or more administrators has reviewed and declined this request. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked. Other administrators can also review this block, but should not override the decision without discussion.

Request reason: "These means "You can correct those mistakes by yourself and it doesn't make sense at all by just cancelling other's edit. You shouldn't consider yourself as a nobleman." Which doesn't contain any intimidation or harassment, it's just a complaint which doesn't violate Wikimedia policy."
Decline reason: ""Intimidation/harassment," as admins are aware, is a "hard coded" rationale also used for blocks related to personal attacks/non-collegial comments (indeed, the ad hominem reference in the block rationale) despite the sub-optimal phrasing when read literally. Accordingly, the unblock request seems wikilawyering that does not genuinely respond to the issue. The provided translation also seems disingenuous; "大小姐" is apparently more properly translated as one (feminine?) who is "high and mighty" or "bossy, entitled, self-centered, etc." There is a pejorative connotation not captured by the erroneous "nobleman." While milder than comments in the past, Whisper of the heart knows or should have known that this is not appropriate (" I shouldn't make my mood out of control and use unfriendly word to other people online. In the future, I will pay more attention to the online etiquette." [1]) Pokéfan95's comments below are nonsensical; there is no requirement that first blocks be shorter than one month, and due warning was given and acknowledged (see preceding quote and diff). Blocks are preventative, not punitive; accordingly, blocks are made with consideration of, among others, the timing of historical disruption; blocks of any length can be lifted when the issue is resolved (i.e., nothing more to prevent). That Whisper of the heart still does not understand that such comments are inappropriate (per the unblock request) suggests there indeed remains something to be prevented, despite the delay to 10. January. Whisper of the heart can be unblocked early at any time when he/she commits to refrain from the sort of comments that precipitated the block. Commenting on the block, the "ad hominem" (I honestly don't know whether it was ad hominem or not) happened on 25 December last year, while this block was on 10 January this year. Also, this is the user's first block, and the set block duration is 1 month. I don't think this block is appropriate, a final warning would have been more appropriate instead. Just my 2c based on the duration of the block, block summary and when the last "ad hominem" happened. Poké95 08:05, 15 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Pokéfan95: User has been warned both on Commons AN/U and enwp AN/I. Both times it was on the very edge of blocking, and got away by promising to stop. Honestly, I feel so bad for @Twofortnights: who is repeatedly harassed with a language he can't understand, and unfortunately could not get justice earlier.
Regarding this very message: Yes, it is milder than earlier curses, but this one is still classified into ad hominem. The translation above lost much of the original meaning. "只会..算什么本事" is unaddressed; "大小姐" have very negative connotation associated with the word itself that is lost if it's translated it into "nobleman"; "真当自己..." is not an imperative sentence as in the translation, but a very sarcastic statement, with an implied subject; "it doesn't make sense at all" was not present at all in the Chinese message.
@Whisper of the heart: If you really wish to communicate with Twofortnights, please use a language Twofortnights can understand, such as English. Using Chinese in the upload summery is an indication of: you cannot express it well in English (eg. some Chinese curse words are difficult to express in English) and/or you wish to hide that message from Twofortnights. --Zhuyifei1999 (talk) 09:07, 15 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Zhuyifei1999: I think your advice is good for Wikimedia Commons community and I will follow your suggestion. But I still believe my action this time is not a serious personal attack and it's not appropriate to be blocked.--Whisper of the heart (talk) 09:30, 21 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. But please be aware that while it may be not a *serious* personal attack, it is still a personal attack. Repeated personal attacks are block-able. --Zhuyifei1999 (talk) 13:19, 22 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Your edits[edit]

I've noticed that you don't differentiate between an island nation of Barbados and a Central American country Costa Rica. It's OK but please refrain from making edits to maps, you are free to send me a suggestion on what needs to be amended on maps and I will happily do it. Immediate reverting of my edits where I fixed your edits regarding Barbados/Costa Rica shows once again the very problematic behavior. You cannot explain why you made those reverts before even looking what you were reverting. I see that later you did have a look, but your initial impulse to just revert for the sake of it is odd. Why does it happen that you end up clicking on undo button without even looking at what you are reverting? What is the train of thought? Do you get angry when you see I made edits and you think it must be, without a shadow of a doubt, something that needs to be reverted? I find it really concerning. I've also noticed that you like to use very bright colours on visa policy maps for the policy that concerns China. Please refraim from doing that and use colours that correspond in tone to other countries, it's a sensible thing to do. Finally I've noticed you insisted on reinstating two random disputed regions on some of the maps. Please note that there are dozens of such regions worldwide and we are either going to include them all or none of them. This is in order to make things neutral. Including none of them is the simplest solution given that the list of UN members states is definite and we also don't include autonomous territories but countries only. Also the map version you are pushing for contains missing pixels leading to further confusion. I am happy to discuss any of the issues above and I ask you to refrain from pushing for your view by endless undoing of edits by other editors. I am saying this because you have a history of doing that which led to nothing but your account blocks in the past. Thank you.--Twofortnights (talk) 18:31, 27 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits[edit]

Please refrain from making edits with many mistakes, or if you do make edits with many mistakes then please accept honest criticism and correct those mistakes, do not make other editors take the burden for you.--Twofortnights (talk) 15:36, 18 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Google Code-In 2019 is coming - please mentor some documentation tasks![edit]

Hello,

Google Code-In, Google-organized contest in which the Wikimedia Foundation participates, starts in a few weeks. This contest is about taking high school students into the world of opensource. I'm sending you this message because you recently edited a documentation page at Wikimedia Commons.

I would like to ask you to take part in Google Code-In as a mentor. That would mean to prepare at least one task (it can be documentation related, or something else - the other categories are Code, Design, Quality Assurance and Outreach) for the participants, and help the student to complete it. Please sign up at the contest page and send us your Google account address to google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org, so we can invite you in!

From my own experience, Google Code-In can be fun, you can make several new friends, attract new people to your wiki and make them part of your community.

If you have any questions, please let us know at google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org.

Thank you!

Visa requirements for Chinese citizens map change[edit]

Hi, I noticed that you changed the color for Uzbekistan from light blue to green today. However, I've looked through the wikipedia article, as well as other sources and I saw no mentioning of Uzbekistan lifting visa requirements for Chinese citizens. Could you tell me what is the rationale for the change? Thanks for uploading File:北京市暂住证.jpg. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.

If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.)

If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there.

Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you.

Philippines eVisa[edit]

I understand. I'll wait a little longer However, since this eVisa version is a policy for the entry of many Chinese tourists,

and it will go through an not difficult process, it will fit a regular visa.

In addition, because it was officially announced by the Philippine government maybe This will be a normal e-visa.

So in the near future I plan to change the colors of the Philippines again. Lades2222 (talk) 23:34, 24 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Currently, looks like all evisa applicants sharing on SNS are waiting for decisions from PH missions. If it's a "real" e-visa may be disclosed a few days later... Whisper of the heart 04:11, 25 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
First of all.. please Just 'reference' this.
I think that maybe eVisa will be a 'Regular'.

I hope so. But CNN and PNA provide different information on if applicants have to "submit via courier or personal appearance their printed and signed form along with their original documents". In addiation, which nationals besides Chinese may apply e-visa is still unclear. Looks like PH gov launches this system in a hurry. Whisper of the heart 07:31, 25 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You don't have to think deeply. Of course, we must follow the Philippine government's policy.
Looking at the circumstances, this visa may not be as difficult as you think because it is a visa to attract Chinese tourists.

I also believe Philippines has a good wish on boosting tourism but looks like they don't have enough ability to design the system well. So far their website has multiple bugs and requires users pay visa fee by bank transfer instead of convenient Alipay of Wechat Pay, so it's easy to guess their material collection step may be user-unfriendly too.
Wish they can get all problems fixed when beta stage ends. Whisper of the heart 13:41, 25 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Autopatrol given[edit]

Hello. I just wanted to let you know that I have granted autopatrol rights to your account; the reason for this is that I believe you are sufficiently trustworthy and experienced to have your contributions automatically marked as "reviewed". This has no effect on your editing, it is simply intended to make it easier for users that are monitoring Recent changes or Recent uploads to find unproductive edits amidst the productive ones like yours. In addition, the Flickr upload feature and an increased number of batch-uploads in UploadWizard, uploading of freely licensed MP3 files, overwriting files uploaded by others and an increased limit for page renames per minute are now available to you. Thank you. GPSLeo (talk) 10:00, 14 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
