Thanks for uploading File:MIIC.svg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.

Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own).

The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:MIIC.svg]]) and the above demanded information in your request.

I apologize. How can a government agency's logo be included on a page? A derivative work? This image is a copy from a website and blurry at that. I understand Fair use is not allowed on Commons. So is via permission from the government agency the only way to include a ministry's logo or emblem on the article? Thank you. --Level C (talk) 03:14, 24 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Wiki Loves Monuments in the United States – Back for 2019!

[edit]
This user participated in Wiki Loves Monuments 2019.

Want to show your participation in Wiki Loves Monuments 2019? Add {{User Wiki Loves Monuments 2019}} to your userpage!

Hello! Last year you contributed to Wiki Loves Monuments 2018 in the United States. Thanks to people like you it was a great success, with over 1,900 people contributing over 10,000 photos of cultural and historic sites from all over the country. Hundreds of these photos now help illustrate Wikipedia articles, improving our open knowledge about United States history, culture, and heritage. If you haven't seen the winners yet, be sure to check them out here.

I'm pleased to say that we're back this year with Wiki Loves Monuments 2019 in the United States, and I'd like to welcome you to participate once again in the event. Check out our updated event page for more information. Just like last year, you'll be able to upload your photos of any registered historical site in the United States through the end of September (even if the photos were taken before this month).

If you've traveled and taken photos of monuments in non-US countries, you can see if those countries are also participating here.

Once again, thank you for participating in Wiki Loves Monuments 2018, and we hope to see you again in this year's event! If you'd like to respond to this message directly, please do so on on my talk page. ~Kevin Payravi (talk) 05:16, 1 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Wiki Loves Monuments in the United States 2019 – Last day to enter!

[edit]
This user participated in Wiki Loves Monuments 2019.
Want to show your participation in Wiki Loves Monuments 2019? Add {{User Wiki Loves Monuments 2019}} to your userpage!

September 30th is the last day to upload photos for Wiki Loves Monuments! We're thrilled that the United States has almost reached 4,000 contributions so far this year. Of these images, ~370 (~9%) have already been used to help illustrate Wikipedia articles and pages on other wiki projects, which is fantastic.

If you've already made a photo contribution this year, thanks so much! If you have any last-minute photos of U.S. historical sites to upload and enter into the contest, today's the day to do it. Check out the United States event page for more information. Judging will take place throughout the month of October, after which the top-ten national finalists will be announced in early November.

If you've traveled and taken photos of monuments in non-US countries, you can see if those countries are also participating here.

As always, thank you for participating in Wiki Loves Monuments! If you'd like to respond to this message directly, please do so on on my talk page. ~Kevin Payravi (talk) 05:49, 30 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Mercy11: Thank you Mercy. I take my vitamin B, then C, then D and finally my Zinc. So yeah, I have an obsession with order. (BTW, I did copy that from other users' pages, from users who care.)--The Eloquent Peasant (talk) 10:38, 13 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Script

[edit]

Sorry – I answered your question at early morning but then forgot to submit/publish it... Fine that you found out a solution by yourself.
When you like more File generation description, this template is not (yet) supported by any script, sorry. It is just a more eloquent (or talkative) method to use Image generation, with somehow better explainable parameters. -- sarang사랑 10:48, 12 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Sarang: TY. -- The Eloquent Peasant (talk) 10:39, 13 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

To your information: when you really "have an obsession with order" you might know that: The display of a file description is always: date - source - author. Depending on the used upload tool, the source may be in another sequence, every mixture is possible. Of course, the sequence of parameters does not matter when using a template - but it can be an unnecessary disadvantage for the orientation within the source code. To ease the readability of the file description source, I asked Perhelion to correct missorted parameters; but he vanished before making it. Now I am somehow trying to continue his work with the script, and got a version which can rearrange the parameters. User:Sarang/simpleSVGcheck.js can what User:Perhelion/simpleSVGcheck.js can't. When you like also the same sequence in source and display, you may use it. -- sarang사랑 14:07, 13 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Parameter "image"

Now you can use image=EP, lowercase is also possible. -- sarang사랑 15:08, 22 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

errors on your arecibo coat of arms

[edit]

my friend Nelson el Roman noticed some errors on your arecibo coat of arms

he says First, the turtle rings must be in gold since the rings in that color mean protection to what is inside the ring. The turtles represent Arecibo, therefore it means protection and defense of Arecibo. If a silver ring is used, it means that what is inside is free, implying that before it was a slave or descendant of slaves. The crown is fine and that crown symbolizes the chief Aracibo (or Arrazivo) from whom we take the name and indicates that he is from the Taino royalty. The turtles have the only thing that the face or head of the turtle must face towards the crown, if they look up the shield stops being heraldic because by rules they must be seeing how important it is in the center, which is the crown . The third thing is that the turtles he uses are not the correct ones, since he is using land turtles (They have legs) and they must be sea turtles (they must have fins) in Arecibo there were no land turtles, only sea turtles and these are the which symbolizes Arecibo. Another mistake is that the shell of the turtles is in gold and it is correct, but the design of the shell cannot be white since white means silver in heraldry and there could not be anything white on yellow (nothing silver on gold) because silver and gold are considered metals and in heraldry it is forbidden to place one metal on another metal. You can only use color on metal, in this case it must be black lines and not white.

if you can fix it that would be great Skunkcrew (talk) 23:04, 29 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Going to this website downloads a .midi file onto my computer. --The Eloquent Peasant (talk) 23:41, 30 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Anyway. The shield is based on the written description seen here. I can not copy your friend's version because that would be a violation of copyright.
I can update the crown with the "su cerco o listel adornado de una greca taina de sable" specification.
Maybe your friend should update areciboweb to stop the auto download of midi files. 4 towers or 5 towers. Many times it states 4 towers but later the place becomes a "city" and then should have 5 towers. Arecibo is a city with 5 towers now. --The Eloquent Peasant (talk) 16:43, 31 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Skunkcrew! I'd like to see the reference on that statement you said above. If you see the photo that Eloquent Peasant shared and some other pics on the municipality's Facebook, you'll see a coat of arms with 4 towers on its mural crown. In that sense, some other versions with 3 or 5 towers could be incorrect unless you share some reference on that detail. "Vandalism" applies only to bad-faith editors purposefully acting to disrupt Commons, and should not be used to describe the contributions of editors with whom you have a content dispute. Using that term in that manner is a personal attack, and continuing to do so may result in you being blocked from editing. Please let me know if you have any questions. Categories for WS works best as stated as editions

[edit]

Hi. When creating categories for works that are being reproduced at Wikisource, we are finding it better (AND SAFER) to indicate that they are edition specific. Firstly that allows us to link it directly to the WD item for the edition and hence allow category display in WS edition header, and not have it consumed by other wikicommons additions, and takeover bids. Plus if we ever have another edition of the same work with different illustrators, or there are shared illustrations though different text, it allows appropriate presentation of such information. Noting that we have had to do some recent rescues of editions of works so a bit of bitter sweet lessons learned.02:36, 11 May 2021 (UTC)

Heráldica PR

[edit]

Hola.

Un saludo, feliz Pentecostés y mucho ánimo --Heralder (talk) 22:27, 18 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
