Mistaken uploads

What about mistaken uploads overwritten with the right image by the original uploader a few seconds after? --ŠJů (talk) 01:39, 11 August 2012 (UTC)

No problem with that, except that the uploader might want to erase the wrong version from the history (e.g. for privacy reasons). Which option gives less publicity to the wrong image? --LPfi (talk) 17:11, 12 August 2012 (UTC)
Can those be {{split}}? --McZusatz (talk) 17:22, 12 August 2012 (UTC)
Well, when that happens the uploader should clean up the mistake, by requesting revision deletion of the mistaken image, and if necessary uploading the mistaken image elsewhere. If this happens often enough it can be given its own template (modelled on {{Non-free frame revdel}}), and mentioned here (maybe in See also section, as it doesn't fit neatly anywhere else). Otherwise, if it doesn't happen that often, it is only a guideline and doesn't necessarily need to cover every case. Rd232 (talk) 11:24, 13 August 2012 (UTC)
