Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]

[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Klärung notwendig

Hallo E.mil.mil, kannst du bitte mal die beiden Bilder zum Pfarrhof in de:Allerheiligen bei Wildon kontrollieren: http://toolserver.org/~alexxw/Denkmalliste/index.php?action=EinzelID&ID=80416. Die beiden Gebäude sind definitiv unterschiedlich, sollen aber denselben Pfarrhof darstellen. ich habe aufgrund der von dir angegebenen IDs kategorisiert, aber irgendwas ist da nicht richtig. Danke.

BTW. Ich habe einen Haufen der von dir hochgeladenen Bilder kategorisiert; könntest du bitte in Zukunft selbst drauf achten. Gerne willkommen ist da auch dein Gegencheck. Am Einfachsten geht das Kategorisieren nach analogen Beispielen. Schöne Fotos übrigens, v.a. das da gefällt mir ausgezeichnet. Vielleicht magst du es ja bei den Qualitätsbildern unter COM:QIC vorschlagen (ich könnte es dir vorher noch auf einen aussagekräftigeren Namen verschieben). lg --Herzi Pinki (talk) 20:56, 7 September 2011 (UTC)

Nachtrag zum Kategorisieren:

Oben findest du eine Anleitung, wie du beim Hochladen kategorisieren kannst. Leider funktioniert das mit den Denkmallistenupload nicht trivial. Du kannst aber auch nach dem Hochladen kategorisieren. Einfach Bildseite editieren, unten [[Category:Was auch immer]] hinzufügen (die Kategorie sollte existieren, also nicht rot sein) speichern und fertig. Noch einfacher finde ich, geht es über HotCat. Unter Special:Preferences Gadgets Tools for categories das Häkchen bei HotCat setzen und Abspeichern. Schon hast du bei jeden Bild unten Knöpfe, um die Kategorien zu verändern, inklusive Autovervollständigen. Welche Kategorien sinnvoll sind, findest du unter Help:Category. Generell sollte die Kategorisierung möglichst genau erfolgen, also z.B. Doppelwendeltreppe Graz und nicht Staircases, Graz oder gar Österreich lg --Herzi Pinki (talk) 06:49, 8 September 2011 (UTC)

Das Urheberrecht ist ein Graus

lb E. ich hab mir zwei Neueinstellungen von Dir ang´schaut und sehe Probleme:

Bei diesem Bild, nach deinen Angaben aufgenommen 1935, ist zwar die Quelle bekannt, nicht aber der Urheber. Stell Dir vor, der Fotograf war ein zwanzigjähriger Student, der 60 Jahre später verblichen ist, somit wäre der Beginn der 70-Jahre-Frist mit dem Jahr 1995 beginnend. Nun, man kennt den Fotografen nicht, aber um hier eine verlängerte Schutzfrist einzuführen, hat man für solche Fälle 100 Jahre nach dem Datum der Erstellung der Fotografie. Demzufolge, 2036 wäre das erste Jahr, in dem das Foto gemeinfrei ist. Böse, nicht?

Der zweite Fall:

Dora Boerner Patzelt im Jahre 1915. Da sind wir der Sache schon näher, aber vor 2016 (das Jahre der Aufnahme wird nicht dazugezählt) wird es auch nicht gemeinfrei. Selbe Sache.

Gartenhäuschen

Freilich kann ich das - von nebenan - privatgrund. von einem öffentlichen kommt man nicht dazu, nur aus der luft. so ist das auch mit dem mozarttempel in der schubertstrasse. solche dürfen nicht abgebildet werden? - obwohl das öffentliche interesse an der erhaltung gegeben ist?

Wenn jemand rechtmässig auf einem Privatgrund steht und das danebenliegende Objekt fotografiert, fällt das meiner Meinung nach auch in die Panoramafreiheit. Dazu muss ich nicht Grundstückseigentümer selbst sein - oder Besitzer. Auch gilt, dass ich hier nicht mit Leitern agieren kann. Aber wenn ich die danebenstehende Fichte in 20m Höhe etwas beschneide - als Baumschneider - und zufällig ein Handy dabei habe - dann ist das auch etwas anderes als eine Leiter aufzustellen. Die Frage dabei ist ja immer auch gleichzeitig, ob das Fotografieren zugelassen ist oder nicht. Grundsätzlich darf ich alles, auch ein Privatgrundstück betreten. Ohne Fragen zu müssen. Ich darf nur nicht Hindernisse ungefragt überwinden, die ganz klar darlegen, dass es nicht erwünscht ist. Deshalb ist das Fotografieren von einem Privatgrundstück aus grundsätzlich auch nicht verboten, jedoch hat der Grundstückseigentümer danach die Möglichkeit, die Veröffentlichung zu verbieten. Ganz so eng ist die Sache also nicht zu sehen. Also, wenn kein Zaun ist und auch kein Schild, muss ich als Person nicht zwingend wissen, dass ich mich auf einem Privatgrundstück befinde. Das muss mir dann der Grundstückseigentümer schon sagen. Und es stellt sich auch als Risiko dar, denn mögliche erwirtschaftete Gewinne aus diesen Fotos kann dann der Grundstückseigentümer für sich selbst beanspruchen. Allerdings möchte ich mich nicht festlegen, wie es dabei mit Bildern von CC-BY-SA geht, denn die Möglichkeit eines Gewinnes durch kommerzielle Verwertung ist denkmöglich. Und könnte in der Auslegung kompliziert werden. Deshalb: Lieber überlegen, ob man vielleicht doch im Zweifel nicht auf fremden Grund steht und im Zweifel sicherheitshalber nicht veröffentlichen. Ich kenne zB in der Hinterbrühl eine Sackgasse welche Privatgrund ist, aber nicht als solche gekennzeichnet, bei der die Eigentumsverhältnisse in der Mitte der Straße sich treffen und wo jeder genau schaut, wer wo jeweils parkt. Und worüber seit Jahren gerichtlich gestritten wird, welches fremde Auto jeweils zu welchem Eigentümer dieser Straße gehört, gerade bei privaten Festen. Aber für Außenstehende absolut nicht erkennbar. Meine bescheidene Rechtsmeinung. --Hubertl (talk) 08:29, 7 January 2012 (UTC)

ich hatte in dem haus zu tun, das an den gartenhausgrund anstösst. da fiel mir der ‚gartentempel‘ - ganz unabhängig von wikipedia - auf. ich fotografierte ihn (für mich) durch den gartenzaun, weil er doch ungewöhnlich ist. und dieses foto habe ich nun hier rauf geladen. aber wenn es zweifelhaft ist, dann löscht es doch. mir wäre es wichtiger, keine kircheninnenraumfotos ins wikipedia zu stellen, damit sich die kunstliebhaber hier nicht bedienen können!--E.mil.mil (talk) 17:08, 7 January 2012 (UTC)

ich habe dein Häuschen in die Liste eingebaut, ich sah ohnehin mehr ein logisches denn ein Urheberrechtsproblem. Sorry für die Aufregung. Ich denke auch, dass es keine Probleme geben wird, und wenn, dann können wir es immer noch rausnehmen. Zu den Kircheninnenraumfotos, ich glaube, da kann keiner was machen, nicht mal Hubertl. Hallo E.mil.mil, was File:Wehranlage_Eberau_L1450693.jpg angeht, so ist das ein Plan mit dem Vermerk 1946, noch nicht gemeinfrei. Aus den Lichtflecken würde ich schließen, dass du das Bild aus einem Schaukasten fotografiert hast. Unter {{FoP-Austria}} wäre das Bild möglich. Sonst bräuchtest du eine Freigabe vom Urheber. Jedenfalls ist {{own}} bei einem Abfotografieren eines Bildes eine schlechte Wahl, das technische Abfotografieren führt den Plan nicht in dein Urheberrecht über. lg --Herzi Pinki (talk) 22:27, 13 September 2014 (UTC)

Der Photowettbewerb Blätter ist auf Grund des dankbaren Themas auf Blätter von diesem Herbst beschränkt - also Bilder, die ab dem ersten September 2014 aufgenommen und ab dem ersten November hochgeladen wurden. Ich werde daher deine Bilder (File:Beech P1020569a.jpg, File:Leaves L1080863b.jpg, File:Ginkgo CIMG6341a.jpg, File:Birke CIMG3111a.jpg und File:Beech P1010571a.jpg) aus dem Wettbewerb nehmen müssen - tut mir leid. Vielleicht hast du aber auch noch Bilder von diesem Herbst, die du hochladen könntest?

Yes but the item isn't actually being used in the photo (e.g., someone pouring it into the machine). See COM:PACKAGING for why product packaging is typically deleted. If on the other hand, you took a picture of someone pouring the washing powder into the machine, and the product logo formed only a minor part of the overall image, then it would be allowed ("de minis"). -- Colin (talk) 16:39, 4 December 2014 (UTC)

Wiki Loves Monuments France 2019

Bonjour,

Le concours Wiki Loves Monuments France est de retour et ouvert jusqu'à 31 septembre ! Déjà 8310 photos ont été importés cette année, vous aussi rejoignez le concours !

Le concours concerne tous les monuments présents dans la base Mérimée (qu'ils soient classés, inscrits ou simplement classés). De l'imposant château aux ruines industrielles, de la chapelle au coin de la rue aux mégalithes en forêt, c'est un impressionnant patrimoine qui attend d'être photographié et documenté. Où que vous soyez il y a des monuments autour de chez vous. Enfin, vous pouvez mettre en ligne autant de photos que vous le souhaitez de ces monuments. Pour information, le règlement est disponible sur le site du concours. Nous attendons vos photos avec impatience !

Les plus belles photos seront sélectionnées par un jury national composé d'amateurs et de professionnels, de contributeurs à Wikimedia Commons et d'acteurs du patrimoine. Un jury international sélectionnera ensuite des meilleures photographies mondiales.

Si vous avez des questions, l'équipe organisatrice se fera un plaisir d'y répondre.

Le concours Wiki Loves Monuments France est ouvert pour une semaine encore, jusqu'au 30 septembre. Déjà plus de 6 000 photos ont été importées cette année alors vous aussi rejoignez le concours ! Cette campagne de contribution concerne tous les monuments et objets mobiliers présents dans la base Mérimée et dans la base Palissy. De l'imposant château aux ruines industrielles, de la verrière décorative au reliquaire, c'est un impressionnant patrimoine qui attend d'être photographié et documenté.
