Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

Fotos de castells

Hola Jordi,

He vist que has penjat imatges retallades de fotos que ja havia fet jo fa temps. Em sembla perfecte. Només et vull demanar que quan pengis una imatge, siusplau, no només hi afegeixis la categoria de la colla, sinó que també hi afegeixis la categoria del castell corresponent i de l'any en què es va fer el castell. Fa anys em vaig dedicar a ordenar les imatges de Category:Castellers i veuràs que també vaig anar creant articles per cada tipus de construcció (Category:Castellers tower types), que és la manera de trobar i veure fotos sobre castells concrets, o sobre les diferents temporades

En general, jo hi afegia 3 categories:

1. el nom de la colla castellera (Hi són pràcticament totes les categories de cada colla, excepte les colles més noves. En aquest cas, les pots crear tu mateix seguint el patró d'alguna categoria de colla castellera ja creada.)
2. Category:Castellers tower types: per exemple 2 de 6, 4 de 8 amb l'agulla, 3 de 10 amb folre i manilles (També hi són pràcticament tots els castells excepte coses rares com el 10 de 7 o el 12 de 7.)
3. Category:Castellers by year: l'any de la foto. Així es poden consultar imatges del món casteller per diferents temporades.

Indo European family tree

Hello @Jordirooca:

On File:IndoEuropeanTree.svg you edited, there is a mistake under the Indo Aryan languages group. The Pahari languages are divided into Eastern and Western. According to the chart, Eastern include Nepali and Palpa while Western include Garhwali and Kumaoni, but this is wrong.

Garhwali and Kumaoni actually comes under Central Pahari. And Western Pahari includes languages like Mahasu Pahari, Kullu Pahari and many other.

Hope you will fix it.
