Images at Chail Military School Chail

We are glad that you have visited our wiki page to report copyrights. We have all the original images uploaded at our parent site http://chailmilitaryschool.webs.com/ and these images are either contributed by several living and dead people or taken by us to be used with school pages. We have also emailed permissions-commons@wikimedia.org about the permissions.

Is it possible to change name of our page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chail_Military_School to Rashtriya Military School Chail as the school name has changed. If you can let us know how to do it, we will be do it.

Once again thanks for your efforts and time.

Please help replace this outdated license

Hello!

Thank you for donating images to the Wikimedia Commons. You have uploaded some images in the past with the license PD. While this was a license acceptable in the early days of Wikimedia, since January 2006, this license has been deprecated and since October 2008 no new uploads with this license was allowed.

The license on older images should be replaced with a better and more specific license/permissions and you can help by checking the images and adding PD-self if you are the author or one of the other templates that you can see in the template on the image page.

Thank you for your help. If you need help feel free to ask at Commons talk:Licensing or contact User:Zscout370.

The images we would like you to check are:

Hello, Denniss!
Tip: Add categories to your files
Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.

Decade montages dispute (1980s, 1990s, 1960s, 1970s)

These are originally my montages, He has taken all the credit and changed them to the way he likes it, and stops anybody from improving them, only wanting it his way. I'm just trying to put them back where they belong and have my credit for it.CatJar (talk) 00:50, 25 March 2010 (UTC)

Hallo Denniss.

I saw that you have labeled a picture I've uploaded, saying that it has no information on his license. The image was assembled by me, using Corel Draw. I have the CDR file available if required.

I have uploaded many photos taken by me and also graphs and diagrams drawn by me, leaving them free to be copied and used by others. The label says that "there is no proof that the author agrees to publish this photo under the informed license", but the author is me...

Please do not delete this work, and show me what is missing or what must I do.

Danke!

Regards,

--Germanramos (talk) 02:33, 26 March 2010 (UTC)

Hallo Denniss. The label is still there. My work may be deleted and I don't know what to do. Danke! Regards, --Germanramos (talk) 12:15, 9 April 2010 (UTC)
What's the source of the images used for the compilation? Are the source images made by you or by others? You need to state the source of these images. --Denniss (talk) 14:00, 9 April 2010 (UTC)

Diane Kruger pictures

Hello Denniss

I hope you are doing well. I really like Diane Kruger, what is the best way to upload a really good picture of her if you are not sure about the license of the picture. The way the policy is showing is that the only way to upload a picture of her is to have taken the picture yourself. Do you have any suggestions.

regards.

Please give me some time

Hello, Could you please give me some time to upload the permission regarding all the images i have uploaded, since my Microsoft Office Outlook is corrupted? I'm planning to go to the local library to do the jobs. If you could not wait for me, there is another way - it is to ask the photographers of the images by going to the links underneath the images; I hope you won't have to do that. Thanks Sp33dyphil 08:25, 2 April 2010 (UTC)

HELLO Denniss.

You have labeled an image I've uploaded, saying that it has no information about license. After that I sent permission to OTRS (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org, 24 April 2010). But the label is still there. Can you check this image again?

Thank You!

Hello Denniss! I am writing regarding the file File:ThaiPoliticalCrisis.PNG that you've previously stated as No essential source information. I, Harley Hartwell (talk · contribs), as a friend of ThHorus (talk · contribs), the creator of the file in question, have already indicated all sources which have been used to make a derivative work in question, along with the original license. If you could kindly check the image in question and identified that source were added or if there are other problems regarding the image, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. --Harley Hartwell (talk) 04:57, 30 April 2010 (UTC)

Answer:Portal do Intercâmbio.png

Thank you for the warning. I thought that it hadn't problem send to the Commons an image taken from a television series. In my opinion, it should be allowed to send images to the Commons, only writing the image source without need a free license, because it would contribute to a more illustrated Wikipedia. Nevertheless, thanks for the warning.

(Automatic translation)

I uploaded that image because I was trying to find a way to contribute to Commons. But if it's so, the solution is to wait until the Commons accept fair use (if it happen someday).
--Marcelo Henrique Bittencourt talk 23:51, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
Won't ever happen as fair use is only accepted in a small number of countries. --Denniss (talk) 02:37, 15 May 2010 (UTC)

Collage

Actually, at the moment I removed the tag there was already a deletion request going on. Simple maitenance: if you see a file with a DR and have additional concerns, it's not needed to tag the file, but to explain the concerns in the DR. The starter of it later withdraw it, which may had led to you finding the file without either thing. In any case, I didn't create that collage, I simply replaced a problematic image in it with another. But it's right, all images must be sourced. I started trying to locate the images, bu later changed my mind and simply create a new collage

If you are satisfied with the new one I made, we may universally replace the former one with the new, and then delete it. Have in mind that "Buenos Aires" is a national capital of an important country and a high visible article at projects: although we must still follow copyright rules, it should be better to do it in a way that doesn't leave all those articles without a lead image Belgrano (talk) 20:16, 22 May 2010 (UTC)

New compilation may be good but you have to respect the copyright of others. You can't use GFDL and/or CC licensed images and release the compialtion as PD. Using a FreeArt licensed image may also be a bad idea - i don't know if it's compatible with CC license types, you probably can't change CC to FreeArt and vice versa. --Denniss (talk) 22:57, 22 May 2010 (UTC)

Please read Template:PD-Italy and the relevant discussion page. Your license may be somewhat valid in Italy but not in the rest of the world. This makes it an invalid license for Commons and all files will be deleted soon. --Denniss (talk) 08:10, 31 May 2010 (UTC)

There is no discussion over there. The license is clear. MachoCarioca (talk) 17:24, 31 May 2010 (UTC)

I've found a discussion about 'italian photographs' at all, this is not the matter here, but 'screenshots'. MachoCarioca (talk) 17:29, 31 May 2010 (UTC)

PS That discussion about photographs has more 'keep' than 'delect', as I saw it.

Italian filmsscreenshots are PD, PD are PD, japanese (accepted here), finlandeses (accepted here), russians (accepted here) or americans (accepted here). You can't change italian laws over their own products or give 'interpretations' to a CLEAR and EXPLICIT law. MachoCarioca (talk) 18:43, 31 May 2010 (UTC)

This information reports to The content, organization, and choosing of the links found in la-moncloa.es... and in our case it concerns The content, so the use of this content may be used in part or fully with no obligation to acknowledge the source. Greetings, Denniss. I am a former admin on Commons (desysopped due to inactivity), and a member of the OTRS team. I have been in communication with the public figure w:Claire Buffie, and she agreed to license her photo under a free license. I uploaded the file, tagged appropriately. All this is detailed at File:MNY2010-CB.jpg. I see that earlier today you tagged the image as not having appropriate permission. When the author agrees in writing to release the image under a free license, in my experience that's all that is needed. So why did you tag it as "no permission", and what can we do to rectify the situation?

F-16 image

Hi, can you explain why the F-16 image (File:Pakistan F-16D block 52 high res.jpg) has been removed? If a comment in the metadata states it belongs to Lockheed-Martin, what about the source of the image (link here) which clearly states in the caption "U.S. Air Force photo"? --Hj108 (talk) 15:42, 16 July 2010 (UTC)

If the image metadata clearly stated Lockheed-Martin as source this is correct. Images made by US government employees are often clearly marked with rank/title uploader/creator or have this info in the Metadata. US Government websites holds many 3rd-party images, these are not always marked as "courtesy image". In short: wrong caption for the image on the linked website. --Denniss (talk) 22:04, 16 July 2010 (UTC)

Hello, First, please excuse my english. I'm the owner of the photo of Laurent Terzieff. So why did you cancell it? ThanKs for your reply (and to restore my photo) Regards

File:Canadian Constitution Act Signing.jpg

Please do not add deletion tags to images where OTRS is pending. It doesn't matter that you have arbitrarily decided that three months is enough time to have handled all OTRS issues. It is really disruptive to other projects to start needlessly deleting images used in articles; it is not very helpful to say that we can "undelete" the images later on (not to mention creates a lot of unnecessary work for everyone involved). If you think too much time has gone by, make an inquiry to find out the OTRS status before tagging the image. I have made that inquiry, so hopefully we will have an answer soon enough. I suspect that no OTRS submission was ever made (given the uploader's lack of activity on Commons), but it's important to get the actual facts before rashly deleting/undeleting files. Thanks. --Skeezix1000 (talk) 20:53, 12 August 2010 (UTC)

File:Demi Lovato 2009 cropped.jpg

Could you please explain why you changed the licence of this image?[6] To my best understanding, CC-BY-SA 3.0 Unported is absolutely acceptable for derivative works where the original has been licensed under CC-BY 2.0 Generic. So, if there's indeed no incompatibility, then it would be entirely at my discretion to choose an appropriate (for Wikipedia) license for the derivative that I have created (and where the original author is properly given credit as required by the license). I'm afraid that unless you provide a valid reason for your change I'll be forced to revert it. Thanks. LuchesarT/C 21:58, 21 August 2010 (UTC)

In fact, even if you do have valid reasons, it would probably have been more appropriate to drop me a message on my talk page, rather than changing the license yourself, wouldn't it? LuchesarT/C 22:14, 21 August 2010 (UTC)
This small modification (cut-out) did not qualify for a licrense change. In no way does it qualify for additional restrictions (the share-alike add-on). It's always better to keep the original license type to avoid trouble. --Denniss (talk) 01:24, 22 August 2010 (UTC)
Hmm, OK, that makes sense and thanks for the hint. But I still believe it's better to notify the user than to silently make modifications to their work. I realize this takes time, but then again, it's also the best way to avoid trouble. ;-) LuchesarT/C 09:27, 22 August 2010 (UTC)

Lee_Ryan.jpg?!!!

Hi Denis, Did you even check the source to see if it is copyrighted or you just delete the picture because you were not comfortable with the license type? I just can't understand; I'm not suppose to talk like that but it WAS a free image from Dailymail website I believe, not a FAKE LICENSED picture as you described on the file deletion description. Or maybe I don't know how to use Wikipedia by now! SiarFisher (talk) 20:35, 26 August 2010 (UTC)

The latter. The file at source was not licensed under the selected , it is not licensed by the copyright holder under any license conditions that allow unrestricted reuse by anyone, anywhere (not only in Wikipedia), for any purpose including modification and commercial reuse. But thats exactly what is required here on Commons and all other Wikimedia projects - simply: free content. See Commons:First steps, Commons:Licensing and Commons:Project scope#Required licensing terms. --Martin H. (talk) 22:29, 26 August 2010 (UTC)

S. dazu ggf. User_talk:W.#Files_you_uploaded_may_be_deleted

Hi Denniss, I saw this image in the article about Leopards in the English wikipedia with the caption titled "Indian leopard (Panthera pardus fusca)". But since you did not provide any info when you initially uploaded this file, I would just like to know where you took this photo of the leopard. I just wonder whether this is really an Indian leopard. Looking forward to your reply - I suggest in this very section of yours. -- BhagyaMani (talk) 12:21, 19 October 2010 (UTC)

Please enlighten me, or if you would, I can send you the links in the next post and you can do the necessary. Looking forward to your reply.-- Cupidcobra1 (talk) 11:33, 19 October 2010 (UTC)

Mail has been received (in the French-speaking OTRS permission queue), approved and processed; I just have to create a template to tag the images created by User:Bfswebstat, so that they can easily refer to this blanket permission (which covers future uploads by this user as well). Ajka accident images

Hello Denniss,

I see that you start to insert insourced warning templates into the images I have uploaded.

Would you be so kind as to:

 1. check the images, do read the image license, the source and if you insist, check the linked page for the permission [apart from the fact that I have the official permission in writing as well as I happen to be the person to actually requested the officials to made it possible for these images to be used in Commons];
 2. remove your templates since I have unfortunately no time to clean up that many pages;
 3. if you have any further questions be so kind as to ask first, tag after. If you do not have the time to actually read the license and ask about it - if you have any questions - then be so kind as not to insert false templates into the images. This ignorant behaviour makes Commons a lot worse place for end-users than it should be.

Thanks for your kind cooperation. --grin 13:08, 25 October 2010 (UTC)

File licence and copyrights violation

Hi Denniss,

I recieved many messages regarding rights and copyrights violations for pictures I have uploaded to illustrate video game pages. I understand that it is important to respect copyrights, but I actually work for Namco Bandai and I have the rights to use and publish those images on Wikipedia.

I honnestly don't really know what extra permissions I have/can give, as I "am" the direct source of those pictures. (Should it be for the copyright violation or the OTRS). Could you enlighten me do what I have to do extra ?

Thank you very much,

Please, tell me in what form should I send this permission because I got it through e-mail and in Russian. Is it supposed to be a scan of a written document of some kind?

Thanks for uploading File:Jana_simkova.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the No permission since tag with on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.

Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own).

The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded (:File:Jana_simkova.jpg) and the above demanded information in your request.

Crosswiki issues

Hi. I'm from pt.wikipedia. I notice that you sometimes revert copyrights violations on pt.wiki (and others wikis). I came to ask you to report me on pt.wiki - if possible - about the future copyvio's related with this case. He ocasionally edits at pt.wiki also when he creates another account here on Commons. This user is blocked indefinitely on pt.wiki for these violations. Including, he was range blocked there also, which I think you should do the same at least for a short period. You can also report some user on Meta if you detect a new sock puppet since pt.wiki has no checkusers at this moment. I would be glad if you can do that. Thank you.” TeleS (T PT @ C G) 04:25, 18 November 2010 (UTC)

Hi,

I do not understand your tag of this image. The source is stated in the infobox. Did you intend to tag differently or perhaps made a mistake? Thanks, (talk) 12:31, 25 November 2010 (UTC)

It was tagged with a reason. First, the source is not directly linked but via another website using images from the source site. A license verification is not possible this way. Second, the image is tagged as reviewed by an admin or image reviewer but the uploader does not seem to be any of these two. --Denniss (talk) 12:35, 25 November 2010 (UTC)
This file was discussed on the OTRS noticeboard. Images of this type and from this source are correctly covered by the OTRS ticket quoted, if you are being misled then this is a problem with the clarity of the template. The uploader may not have been a recognized image reviewer (and neither am I) but the notice you added challenges the source, not the nature of the reviewer.
Note, I have updated the template used with more accurate wording based on the original OTRS email received. Thanks, (talk) 13:20, 25 November 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for clarification of the template. I'll remove the no source tags from valid images. EDIT: Does the template produce an autotag if an unauthorized users reviews the images? --Denniss (talk) 17:58, 25 November 2010 (UTC)
No, I have no idea how we would do that either. It would be a cool addition. (talk) 18:08, 25 November 2010 (UTC)

Mozambique army officer

Hi Denniss. For File:FADM Training Officer.jpeg, I am a bit puzzled why you queried the source information on this file. It is PD-GOV-USA, U.S. Marine Corps, and the exact webpage that the file came from is listed - Marines.mil, or the U.S. Marine Corps. What is unclear? Please do explain, because I do not understand right now. Kind regards from Aotearoa New Zealand, Buckshot06 (talk) 01:52, 27 November 2010 (UTC)

Low res image, no Exif-data, link to file missing, text did not indicate it was actually made by an US Gov employee. Just because an image is hosted on a US Gov server does not automatically render it into a PD-USGov license type. --Denniss (talk) 02:36, 27 November 2010 (UTC)
OK. Since you tagged this I've added the U.S. VRIN number, added a link to the hi-res image, and I would draw your attention, again, to the fact that these are all U.S. Africa Command official propaganda photos. I do not actually know what Exif-data is, but if you explain that to me I'll fix that as well. Cheers Buckshot06 (talk) 19:47, 27 November 2010 (UTC)

image license

Hey Denniss, I'm new in wikipedia redacting, and I saw that you have erased some images that I've uploaded. What I've to do to get the licenses of these images? Or directly it can't be uploaded? Thanks for your time

You are permitted to upload screenshots from Software if this software is available under a free license. Screenshot from copyrighted/non-free software are still copyrighted (by the software authors like M$ if it's a M$ Windoze screenshot) and can't be used here. --Denniss (talk) 04:05, 13 December 2010 (UTC)

Please explain why you marked this image for deletion. Under 'other versions', it was noted as simply a crop of File:Chris Turner droppping back.jpg, which was certified as released into the public domain on December 6, 2009. The user changed the copyright status on Flickr since, but the original image has already been released into the public domain under a CC attribution 2.0 generic license. Deletion of file under afp-logo.png

This message refers to a deletion you made on January 2, 2011 at 6:53 a.m. under

http://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Psychonaut01&diff=0&oldid=39441630

The file I wanted to use was already in wikipedia. It was in the Bavarian section of the net. According to what the person there said, the file I wanted to use did not qualify for copyright, because it did not meet the protection standards. It was void of originality, therefore it could be used. Hence, there is no copyright violation.

This person is to be found in bar.wikipedia.org under the URL

http://bar.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benutzer:Kazu89

and he goes by the name "André".

File:Jsc2009e049924.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

I've been using the wikipedia Commons Helper to move stuff from there to here. I assumed the Commons Helper would move everything that's needed. What's missing? ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots18:43, 4 January 2011 (UTC)

File:Doug_Billings.jpg

Hello Denniss,

I uploaded the above-referenced photo today. I took the photo myself. I sent an email to the address you suggested in order to give proper permissions.

Please let me know if this is adequate for allowing the picture to remain in Wikimedia.

thank you. You mail email me at: billingskc@gmail.com if you have questions or concerns.

Help me, please. File:Teenangelsmadrid.jpg The original picture is already on wikipedia. I made only one cut, you can help me to get their sources? --Eugenia2 (talk) 20:36, 13 January 2011 (UTC)

Cat Jahnke photo

I just posted, and got a warning for, the Cat Jahnke photo on her new page (which was created by me).

I'm unclear what sort of permissions and licenses are required. I am in personal contact with Miss Jahnke and have been given the promotional photo (created by her management team) for use on Wikipedia. I'm not sure what documentation you need to confirm that fact. Should I put you in touch with Miss Jahnke herself?

Please let me know how to proceed. Thanks.

QuarterbackSneak (talk) 23:36, 14 January 2011 (UTC)

Please read Commons:Licensing. A permission to use in Wikipedia only is not valid, it must be released with a free license and reusable by anyone using this license. If you get such a permission please send the mail or a scanned document to the given adress (OTRS).--Denniss (talk) 00:12, 15 January 2011 (UTC)

Re:collage

Todas las fotos que componen este collage 250px son de mi cosecha, ¿qué puedo hacer para que no sea borrado? Gracias de antemano, un saludo. --Martely (talk) 18:43, 24 January 2011 (UTC)

Please always add links to the source files if they are used for a compilation. We had enough problems with users generating compilations with unfree files. --Denniss (talk) 11:55, 25 January 2011 (UTC)
Las imágenes ya están subidas al commons, son de mi autoría, espero haber completado lo que solicitaban y no borren el collage. Un saludo.--Martely (talk) 20:19, 26 January 2011 (UTC)

the image is licensed under cc-by-2.0, as the included template said. see http://www.flickr.com/photos/70225554@N00/4104740767/ what's the problem? --Akkakk (talk) 15:25, 28 January 2011 (UTC)

The Flickr uploader is not the author of this image (and several/most of his other images). That's the problem. --Denniss (talk) 15:27, 28 January 2011 (UTC)

I'm tempted to write "DO NOT DELETE THIS FILE!!!" across the top of the page. Why can't anyone accept that someone has looked at this, and at least DR it instead of just putting it up for speedy deletion? I left a note on the discussion page explaining my reasoning long ago.--Prosfilaes (talk) 18:53, 31 January 2011 (UTC)

File:PercivalSchuttenbachSzczecin1.jpg

Hi!

Last photos put on the Wiki (File:PercivalSchuttenbachSzczecin1.jpg, ..2.jpg, ..3.jpg...) has been taken by Percival Schuttenbach's personal photographer, Marcin Somerlik, how can we prove that? He's busy nowadays and maybe he won't be able to answer e-mails.

By the way. I'm a new editor nad have a little problems with editing band's wiki. Probably today I will end this... Can you check it and accept?

Paweł 'Yarpenn Zigrinn' Styczyński Percival Schuttenbach Management yarpenn@wp.pl

Edit: Marcin Somerlik sent an email with a proper form of agreement :) Yarpenn (talk) 16:05, 3 February 2011 (UTC)

What led you to determine that this was a copyright violation? ˉanetode╦╩ 04:59, 3 February 2011 (UTC)

Ah, I'm assuming it's [7]. Neat, I've never encountered TinEye before. I'm still not sure about File:Rihanna-gig-uk.jpg though, the hits are all from random blog sites and the flickr user appears to have a set of amateur concert snapshots. ˉanetode╦╩ 05:12, 3 February 2011 (UTC)
A real photographer would have high-res images and all would have a camera model visible. This user has mostly lower-res images, camera model is visible in two or so images and despite having the same date the two camera models are completely different. Please always be careful with similar Flickr accounts as the content is most often taken from other sites with incorrect free licenses. --Denniss (talk) 09:30, 3 February 2011 (UTC)
Second look and you're right. Sorry, I should have been more careful. ˉanetode╦╩ 09:38, 3 February 2011 (UTC)

File:Athens Montage 2.jpg

Hi! Could you help me: what more information is necessary for this picture? I have already cited the pictures I used and I declare that the rest is created by me. Dimboukas (talk) 11:53, 3 February 2011 (UTC)

Hello, if I may just butt in here, because Dimboukas asked my advice about this over at en-wiki: I'm not quite sure what problem you saw here either, but I just added explicit author attribution to the list of source images, if that's what you meant. About the self-made components, Dimboukas is known to be a skillful photographer of Athens citiscapes, so his statement that he took them himself is definitely credible. My images

Hey mate, I see you have concern with the images I uploaded, can you please help me provide the right information and how to go about doing it so the images don't get deleted, I don't know what to do since I'm new here and not familiar with the site properly.User:Chuck-Noriss

My images

All the picture i upload on "Frank Sinatra" are mine. I pictured some frames from my videos Andrew87

Sorry but capturing images from TV does not make you "own" the image as the copyright belongs to others. --Denniss (talk) 12:15, 7 February 2011 (UTC)

What's the problem? Go to http://uscmc.wikispaces.com/m41 and scroll down to the very bottom on the page. READ: "Contributions to http://uscmc.wikispaces.com are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution Share-Alike 2.0 License.".. That image IS a "Contribution to http://uscmc.wikispaces.com". What gives? -- Wesha (talk) 20:32, 7 February 2011 (UTC)

Where's the info that this image is a user contribution? Where's the image page showing a verifyable author/source? --Denniss (talk) 22:41, 7 February 2011 (UTC)
The aforementioned text doesn't say "user contribution", just "contribution". And anything uploaded to wiki is contribution by definition. The author/source is on that image's upload page, and I provided the links. -- Wesha (talk) 22:57, 7 February 2011 (UTC)
It may be a contribution but without a verifyable source it's not usable here. There's not even a statement by the uploader of self-made images. --Denniss (talk) 23:03, 7 February 2011 (UTC)
How deep we REALLY should go in verifying the licenses? I mean, let's say I want to use some of Commons' CC-icensed image. Is it enough for me to look at the image's Wikimedia's page and see that it says "CC-BY-etc" and be happy with it? Or am I supposed to ALSO contact the uploader and ask him AGAIN? and if he reuploaded from Flickr, am I supposed to ALSO go to flickr and contact the author there? And what if he reuploaded from somewhere else?.. You are getting my idea, right? At which level we should stop drilling in so it can be considered that we have done our "due diligence"? -- Wesha (talk) 18:58, 8 February 2011 (UTC)
Images at Wikipedia/Wikimedia should have a verifyable source, author and license. Otherwise they are up for deletion. Prior to re-using an image from here the re-user should take a closer look at the image and claimed author/source. If anything sounds fishy the he should better not use it. Flickr images may have a usable license but you also often see commercial images taken from other sites and tagged with a fake free license. --Denniss (talk) 22:39, 8 February 2011 (UTC)

White Americans.jpg

The only change to the collage was replacing a copyrighted picture of Megan Fox with a public domain picture of Marilyn Monroe. Can you tell me why that would make you nominate it for deletion? Erikeltic (talk) 01:45, 9 February 2011 (UTC)

As stated on del req, one source image was deleted in April 2010 as non-free. --Denniss (talk) 11:26, 9 February 2011 (UTC)
I removed that content and replaced with a photo of Charles Lindbergh from the Library of Congress. Does that settle the issue for you? Erikeltic (talk) 15:39, 9 February 2011 (UTC)

File:Conjuntobaq.png

hi, I do not understand your point, you say "... la página de la imagen actualmente no especifica quién creó el contenido", isn't that exactly this: Fuente Trabajo propio, Barranquilla Catedral.jpg, Panorámica general de Barranquilla.JPG, Ptobaq.jpg, Antigua Aduana de Barranquilla.jpg, Barranquilla - Paseo de Bolívar.jpg, Marimondas.jpg? However, I'm going to include . --Jdvillalobos (talk) 01:56, 10 February 2011 (UTC)

If you upload image compilations, please also upload the source images and link to them from the image compilation page. We had just too many compilations stated s self-made but the source images were not. --Denniss (talk) 10:59, 10 February 2011 (UTC)
Look, I did it as this one, which has no problems: http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Archivo:Medellinpanoramicca.JPG. I really don't understand what this means: "If you upload image compilations, please also upload the source images and link to them from the image compilation page." What's the compilation page? Isn't this equivalent to Medellinpanoramicca.JPG: http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Archivo:Conjuntobaq.png? --Jdvillalobos (talk) 17:11, 10 February 2011 (UTC)

?!
