Please, look at the article about Radovan Karadzic from English wikipedia, especially the image Radovan Karadzic 2008.jpg...
--WPK (talk) 19:24, 17 August 2008 (UTC)
Well, the image page at the English Wikipedia states that it is a fair use image originally published by the BBC. Material under the fair use clause is not allowed on Commons. --Apalsola tc 19:58, 17 August 2008 (UTC)
(Apparently you can speak Finnish, so I'll reply in Finnish.) --Apalsola tc 20:11, 17 August 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Aegean Sea with island groups labeled.png. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikimedia Commons (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page. If the content is a derivative of a copyrighted work, you need to supply the names and a licence of the original authors as well.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag, then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multilicense GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find all your uploads using the Gallery tool. Thank you. Thank you for your contributions. Your image or other content was recently deleted, or will soon be deleted, in accordance with our process and policies, because it was not, or is not, within our scope. Please review our project scope, but in short, Commons is targeted at media files including photographs, diagrams, animations, music, spoken text and video clips. Wikimedia Commons does not contain text articles like encyclopedia articles, textbooks, news, word definitions and such. Each of these other kinds of content have their own projects: Wikipedia, Wikibooks, Wikisource, Wikinews, Wiktionary and Wikiquote.

If the content seems to fit the scope of one of those other projects, please consider contributing it there.

Kiitos! --Apalsola tc 14:54, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

Thank you for providing images to Wikimedia Commons. I notice that you have uploaded Image:Bronze Soldier of Tallinn, 2007.jpg and at the same time replaced an older one. I think you should know that this is only allowed when the two images are almost exactly alike. Here in Commons we would like to host as many different, useful versions as possible for Wikimedia projects to choose from. I have restored your image to an older version, but I hope you will upload your fine image with another name. Thank you, and happy editing! --Motopark (talk) 15:48, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

Hello WPK~commonswiki/Archive 1!

Thank you for providing images to Wikimedia Commons. Please keep in mind that images uploaded to Commons should be useful to all users of Wikimedia projects. This is possible only if the images can be found by other people.

To allow others to find the images you uploaded here, the images should be in some place that can be found by navigating the category structure. This means that you should put the images into appropriate topic pages, categories, optionally galleries, or both of them (see Commons:Categories). To find good categories for your images, the CommonSense tool may help.

You can find a convenient overview of your uploaded files in this gallery.

The important point is that the images should be placed in the general structure somewhere. There are a large number of completely unsorted images on Commons right now. If you would like to help to place some of those images where they can be found, please do!

Thank you. BotMultichillT (talk) 06:23, 3 December 2008 (UTC)

I have fully-protected this image for 2 weeks because of upload warring it appears you have participated in. Please discuss on the image talk page any outstanding issues. I will unprotect that image when the dispute is resolved.  — Mike.lifeguard | @en.wb 01:23, 4 December 2008 (UTC)

Pay attention to copyright File:Father Frost.png has been marked as a copyright violation. Stop this edit war, its unnecessary! Its realy odd to protect a file because someone is uploading a duplicate permanently, thats realy stupid. --Martin H. (talk) 03:33, 27 July 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:Plaques of winners of the Games of the XI olympiad in 1936 Berlin.png. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.

Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own).

The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:Plaques of winners of the Games of the XI olympiad in 1936 Berlin.png]]) and the above demanded information in your request.

--Sankari (talk) 22:16, 26 October 2009 (UTC)

--Apalsola tc 11:02, 27 October 2009 (UTC)

At least 99% of the time, if an SVG file has an "<image" tag in it, it's not going to display on Wikimedia Commons... AnonMoos (talk) 16:04, 21 November 2009 (UTC)

File:Eastern_European_region.png has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Finnish air force flags

Please don't upload SVGs without vector data... AnonMoos (talk) 16:37, 1 February 2011 (UTC)

Dude, it is really not helpful to upload SVG files consisting exclusively of an embedded PNG

If you have a PNG, just upload it as a PNG, instead of phoneying it up into a bad pseudo-SVG file... AnonMoos (talk) 08:59, 2 February 2011 (UTC)

It is not my fault, if user Bingread has been the base file Finland Air force.SVG in that way. --WPK (talk) 11:00, 2 February 2011 (UTC)
That is really not the case; I downloaded the "00:16, 9 March 2010" version of File:Finland Air force.svg, and found it to be full of true vector data (no embedded bitmap). Notice that his file is 22k in size, whereas yours are all about 350k in size? Whatever procedure you're using just isn't working very well, and you need to either stop uploading until you figure out how to make a real SVG, or alternatively, just upload your PNGs as real PNGs (instead of as phoney fake SVGs)... AnonMoos (talk) 13:34, 2 February 2011 (UTC)
However, I do not find Your version, from that very day: [1], in the first is user Bingbread 9.3.2010 02:16, then You 1.2.2011 and Fry1989 at the same day. --WPK (talk) 20:27, 2 February 2011 (UTC)
Whatever -- examine any of the file versions, by Bingbread, me, and/or Fry1989, and if you open them up in a text editor, then you'll see that they're all vector (many PATH elements, no IMAGE element or BASE64 encoded data), while yours aren't. AnonMoos (talk) 20:41, 2 February 2011 (UTC)

I just now looked at the "19:48, 2 February 2011" upload of File:Lentosotakoulu.svg, and it's still the same thing -- the file size is slightly smaller, but there's still one big <image width="1220" height="1268" xlink:href="data:image/png;base64 element, and no vectors. AnonMoos (talk) 20:47, 2 February 2011 (UTC)

Whatever, at least I tried to improve the picture files. It seems, that You know more about technical issues, so You probably can correct those files, if You like.
All in all, to an ordinary user, it is insignificant, what is the amount of vectors of a picture.
Friendly, --WPK (talk) 12:27, 3 February 2011 (UTC)
It would actually be easier for you to simply refrain from wrapping PNGs into an SVG than it would be for me to extract the PNGs from the SVGs. There's usually little problem with non-vector images -- unless they're pretending to be something which they aren't... AnonMoos (talk) 15:22, 3 February 2011 (UTC)
Just to interject, someone with good vector skills (mine are somewhat limited when it comes to re-sizing) could fix the flags using the vector version of the star WPK desires: File:Russian Air Force roundel - 2010.svg Fry1989 (talk) 01:23, 4 February 2011 (UTC)

Military Roundel of Finland pre-1944.svg

If you remove the information, photo link, or make it black again without a source that it was actually black and not blue, I will report you. Stop now. Fry1989 (talk) 22:14, 24 February 2011 (UTC)

Your behaiviour is absolutely unacceptable, and you are being reported. I've told you many times NOT to blank files, remove cats, or edit the information box, but you clearly don't want to listen. Fry1989 (talk) 19:58, 25 February 2011 (UTC)
You absolutely wrong: look at Kunniakas hakaristimme and Panssaimuseo. --WPK (talk) 20:09, 25 February 2011 (UTC)
YOU DO NOT blank other users files, remove relevant categories, and edit the infobox to claim it's you're own work when it's not. You've done this to countless files, and it's not acceptable. Fry1989 (talk) 20:17, 25 February 2011 (UTC)
How many times do we have to tell you not to remove relevant categories from images? As logn as you continue to do that to the Finnish tank roundel, it will be reverted. It's not acceptable. Fry1989 (talk) 21:49, 10 March 2011 (UTC)
"How many times do we have to tell..." We? I think that You are not the whole Wikimedia Commons.
Those removed categories are not relevant for these images.
By the way, when You will finally admit, that the emblem of the Finnish tanks 1941-1945 has been black, not blue?
Friendly, --WPK (talk) 12:26, 11 March 2011 (UTC)
"We" as in myself and Anonmoos. The categories are relevant, and you must stop removing them. The file is a roundel and was a symbol of the Finnish military, so it belongs in the following categories: Roundels of Finland, Roundels, and Military of Finland. As long as you continue to remove them, you will be reverted. Lastly, quit holding on to childish battles. That I have not reverted the file back to blue in over a week shows that I now agree the roundel was black instead of blue. However, we never would have had that problem if you gave a source outright, which you did not. Fry1989 (talk) 20:04, 11 March 2011 (UTC)
You was childish, when You will not accept that the Military Roundel of Finland pre-1944.svg is black claiming "that the links don't work". --WPK (talk) 00:36, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
As I said above: that I have not reverted the roundel back to blue shows I now accept the roundel is actually black. Your first link didn't work, whether you like it or not, and I'm not going to apologize for a link that doesn't work. Get over it. Also, per your comments below towards Anonmoos, none of us have claimed we're perfect, but atleast we don't constantly remove categories and blank out discriptions after being told countless times by other users not to. Fry1989 (talk) 01:06, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
I have removed the duplicate in the Military Roundel of Finland pre-1944.svg: the sub category Roundels of Finland is already part of the category Military of Finland. --WPK (talk) 00:34, 15 March 2011 (UTC)

WPK, Fry1989

I really don't have much interest or knowledge beyond the Finnish air force flags (as I said on User_talk:Fry1989), so I don't feel qualified to get involved in other things. However, you have done some peculiar things with respect to the Finnish air force flag/emblem files, so it seems like you need to learn a little more about how things are preferred to be done on Commons. AnonMoos (talk) 20:18, 2 March 2011 (UTC)

That is just so with Fry1989, but also e.g. with Ssolbergj. They need to learn a little more about how things are preferred to be done on Commons. Of course I have made mistakes, too, but at least I admit that I am not perfect. --WPK (talk) 00:44, 14 March 2011 (UTC)

Logoista

Hei. Kirjoitan tänne, ettei mene YLE:n logon kohdalla pahasti ohi aiheen. Tekijänoikeuden perustana on luova työ.

Kaikilla näillä on jonkinlainen piirrostyyli, jolla vaakuna on alun perin hyväksytty.
Siis aivan oikeasti; etkö edes Ilmajoen sivulta katsonut vaakunan mallia?
PS2.

Kyseessä on VR suurristi miekkojen kera (rauhanajan ansioista), jossa on kultainen, kahdella punaisella viivalla kirjattu nauha (kuva).

Kiitos taas.
--WPK (talk) 11:55, 22 March 2011 (UTC)
PS.
