[edit] Church of Holy Trinity
Hello Nikola,
Regarding Image:Gornji Milanovac Holy Trinity church.jpg, I find your photo a beautiful shot, and it is a pity that the technical quality is not up to the levels people have agreed for QI.
- Overexposure: first I thought it would only affect the right clock face, but inspecting the intensity histogram , and the blue channel histogramm, one sees that the sky is causing significant clipping (gimp is a good and free program that allows you to look at histograms). It happens with quite a few digital cameras, and if the camera allows it, set to underexposure, usually half a stop to one stop is about what is needed.
- Washed out: along lines with significant contrast I notice sharpening artifacts, quite some camera manufacturers think that is necessary to produce a visually pleasing output while in reality it spoils the image. Look out for a bright line where the sky touches the building. And also looking at the stonework I have the feeling that there is no detail on the stones visible. I cannot fully exclude that this is reality, but it looks more like some faint structure has either been compressed away in the JPEG encoding, or that the camera applied some kind of noise filter before saving the photo. Each stone is a homogenous color blob, and that is not what my experience of reality is.
Hope your camera is not too much annoyed with this assessment. The camera manufacturer should be. -- Klaus with K 13:27, 27 June 2007 (UTC)

Hi,
Please, do not put Category:Nikola Tesla under Category:People of Serbia. Category:People of Serbia is one of the subcategories of Category:People by country, where people are categorised by country, not by ethnicity. Tesla was not born in Serbia, nor has much to do with country of Serbia. Thus, he should not be categorised under any subcategory of Category:Serbia. --Veliki Kategorizator 12:25, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

Hi, this seems to be a useful application. May I just point out that it can't work with SVG images if the file name is "SVG" in capital. It must be "svg", example. Regards, Thuresson (talk) 04:52, 10 August 2008 (UTC)
[edit] SVG translate tool
Hello Nikola,
I noticed about 8 months ago your SVG translator tool, and I included it 2 months ago into the widely used template {{Translation possible}}. This make your SVG translator highly vissible.
Also, if you can, some upgrade may be welcome, and relatively-easy to done if you contact Luxo to get some codes. As you can see here, I already contacted Luxo to encourage the merging of his tool (FXderivate) and your tool (SVG translator). These 2 tools seems to me, a long-time wikigraphist, the 2 most helpful Commons-based tools available.
Your SVG translator especially need :
- Automatic upload: be able to upload itself the SVG to commons (Luxo have a script for this);
- Memory: keep memory of the translations ... (should be easy, no ?)
- Correction: ...provide a function "correct this SVG", allowing to quickly correct a word in a SVG (this task is frequently need). Which need...
- User rights: ...to allow fast minor corrections by trusted users only (should be hard);
And, if possible :
- Style: to get a more professional looking (you can copy the style of Luxo's tool, to get a common looking)
- Score: count the number of files translated using your tool.
I open this suggestions can help to improve your tool an ease users' life. Regards, Yug (talk) 13:03, 13 August 2008 (UTC)
- Hello, I answered to you on my talk page Yug (talk) 20:25, 22 August 2008 (UTC)

- Hi Nikola,
- thanks for this great tool! Please go on and I hope, that it will be included as a standard Commons feature one day (in the nearer future)! Oh, by the way: There was a very interesting talk at this year's SVGOpen, perhaps you're interested: Translating SVG with XLIFF and Open Standards. --Manuel (Diskussion) 07:46, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
Another suggestion, that I think should be quite easy to implement. I have modified some maps with the basis of Image:Locator map of municipalities in Nordland, Norway.svg. Here I have put the id to be the Municipality numbers of Norway, while the label is the name of the municipality. From this I have colored different maps acording to regional concils, Police districts and more. it would be great to have an ability in the tool to change color based on either the id or the label. (that is, where it's now written translation in the tool, you get an option to put in an RGBA-code). Would make it easier to change maps for different purposes.
if the Commons:Project Mapmaking Wiki Standards find some common standards, it would also be great if the common colors come in a drop down menu. Røed (talk) 03:53, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
Is the translation tool out of order? http://toolserver.org/~nikola/svgtranslate.php?svg=http%3A%2F%2Fupload.wikimedia.org%2Fwikipedia%2Fcommons%2F2%2F28%2FWeight-for-age-girls.svg don't work. --FischX (talk) 12:57, 14 November 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Serbian translations needed
Hi! I contact you as you speak English and Serbian.
Jastrow and I are working on autotranslating {{Meta information museum}}, the meta-template we use for many museums, like {{Information Louvre}}. Could you please help us find Serbian translations for every tag name:
* artist/maker * description * dimensions * credit line * accession number * location * source/photographer * references * other versions
"Credit line" is mainly about the mode of acquisition: what collection does it come from? Did it join the collections by gift, purchase, on loan, etc.?
Thanks for any help. Bibi Saint-Pol (sprechen) 10:34, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
- I saw you just created the right page. All seems perfect, museum templates should now appear in Serbian. Thanks a lot! Bibi Saint-Pol (sprechen) 11:07, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
