Template:Gallica parameter question[edit]

Hi Yarl- It looks like you might have been the creator of the above template. Can you tell me if there's a way to add a parameter to include a direct url to a work? I'm trying to avoid the "under the digital ID" language for a web address. This question came up when I wanted to add a direct url to the image at File:Marie_de_France_(1344-1404).png. Thanks in advance for any help. Eric talk 14:18, 24 January 2018 (UTC)

@Eric: hey, sorry for no response. Today I had some time to take a look at this, is this ok for you? Or maybe passing f38 as a second param is good enough? I would prefer it, but I'm not sure how Gallica is structured and how it will work for most of the pages. Yarl 💭  18:48, 30 January 2018 (UTC)
Hey, thanks! How did you know that simply adding the pipe would work, and would produce the text "direct link"? I searched for options like that before I posted. Also tried adding my own parameters, but got errors. I think it would be useful to add that guidance to the template usage section, but I'm not sure what all to put there. I think it would also help to define what is called for by "ID" in the parameter description. But I hesitate to undertake that myself as I am new to the template. On the Marie de France page, I was at first tempted to populate parameter 1 with the direct url of page 38, but I didn't want to because of the "digital ID" language. Eric talk 19:47, 30 January 2018 (UTC)
@Eric: well, I simply added second param in the template :). Now I see it's rather redundant. I was searching for more examples and I see the easiest and simplest solution is adding page number in the ID. Works like a charm. Yarl 💭  17:55, 4 February 2018 (UTC)
Yes, that's certainly simpler. I just didn't know if "digital ID" was supposed to be a specific catalog number in the Gallica system. So do you think we should flesh out the guidance in the template usage section? Eric talk 18:19, 4 February 2018 (UTC)

Structured Commons - Design feedback request: Multilingual Captions[edit]

Hello! You are receiving this message because you signed up for the the community focus group for Structured Data on Wikimedia Commons.

The Structured Data on Commons team has a new design feedback request up for Multilingual Captions support in the Upload Wizard. Visit the page for more information about the potential designs. Discussion and feedback is welcome there.

On a personal note, you'll see me posting many of these communications going forward for the Structured Data project, as SandraF transitions into working on the GLAM side of things for Structured Data on Commons full time. For the past six months she's been splitting time between the two roles (GLAM and Community Liaison). I'm looking forward to working with you all again. Thank you, happy editing. Hello!

Your bot has been listed at Commons:Bots/Requests/de-flag 5 as being inactive for over two years. As a housekeeping measure we'd like to remove the bot flag from inactive bot accounts, unless you expect the bot will be operated again in the near future. If you wish for your bot to retain it's bot flag, please speak up on the deflag page. If you consent to the removal of the bot flag (or do not reply on the deflag page) you can re-request the bot flag at Commons:Bots/Requests should you need it again.
