Il n'y a que 中-sbs.gif ou 中-order.gif.
Je ne connais pas d'autre méthode. En tout cas, si tu fais l'afphabet arabe, c'est bien :] Yug (talk) 16:51, 18 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Arabic SVGs

[edit]

Hi Shibo,

I noticed you have made some SVGs of Arabic letters. I was wondering what software you use?

I am using Inkscape and it has a bug, that it doesn't connect Arabic text properly. Then it produces terrible things like this -->

argh!!!

so I was wondering what you use, or if you know a way to solve this bug?

cheers, pfctdayelise (说什么?) 12:13, 2 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

PS. I just noticed your SVGs were for 小儿经. Wow that is the coolest thing ever!!! I never heard of it until just then. :) --pfctdayelise (说什么?) 12:30, 2 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, thanks for your reply. I am really (really, really) new to using an Arabic script and I don't even know how to type it (or any other Unicode characters...). I just copy things from Wikipedia and other web pages. Even when I copy some connected letters into Notepad, they stay connected. But not in Inkscape. :(
If I have the character for an isolated form of a letter, how can I convert it to a final (or other) form?? In everything else I use they convert automatically, only Inkscape they don't. And when I paste text into Inkscape, it runs right to left like it should, but still they don't connect.
I was thinking to write a wikibook: on how to write Arabic scripts. (The language I am interested in uses an Arabic script but is not actually Arabic, it can be useful for several languages I think.) I was thinking for each letter, have a large plain SVG like this, have a similar one on a background of grey writing lines for guidance, and also scale (similar to graph paper for the lines I guess, with the middle line as the "real" line and two lines above and below as dotted guidelines). Then I was thinking of having different SVGs for the initial/medial/final forms, but I don't think that's so useful now - after seeing your coloured multiform SVGs, I think these are waaaaay more useful. Great use of colour!! And then finally you would want images that show the stroke directions and change of pen directions, I found a good book for this. I was thinking to do that as animated, but it's a lot of work as you said, and maybe it's enough to do something like this but just number the strokes. They are less complex than Chinese characters of course, and most of them don't cross over, so it shouldn't get too complicated. I don't know. It's a lot of work whatever I do.
Where do you put your images? Category:Arabic script? The Arabic categories are a bit disorganised...
Hope to hear from you again, especially about Inkscape still. thanks for your help, pfctdayelise (说什么?) 12:00, 10 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent new version of Image:Shenzhou front white shadow.png

[edit]

I reverted your recent version of this image you recently uploaded back to Horst Frank's original version. The problem: you made the white-coloured parts of the Shenzhou's body also transparent. Is it possible to just make the background transparent but not the spacecraft itself. Thanks. Zzyzx11 23:35, 27 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Mongolian script

[edit]

Hi, I see you created an SVG of a classic Mongolian character. (You accidentally create a category for it that was redundant to one I had created and populated just the day before, but that's a minor problem). Are you planning to make the full set? If so, then my wish would be to use a different font, if there is any choice. The one you took looks a bit fancy like calligraphic handwriting, which may be nice in a decorative context. But if we want to use them to explain the script, then something closer to the standard printed form might be more appropriate, because it makes it easier for an inexperienced reader to recognize the shapes. Any thoughts? --Latebird 00:59, 25 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Check out which works best for you:
Maybe a subcategory Category:Classic Mongolian letters would also be helpful. --Latebird 22:51, 27 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

India map

[edit]

Hi Shibo77, thanks for NPOV-ing the India map yesterday. There has been a discussion of this on the Wikipedia NPOV/N noticeboard ([1] and we were all very happy that you stepped in! Unfortunately though, another editor has now reverted to the old version, claiming that the scale at which the disputed areas were drawn wasn't right. Could we ask you to double-check and have another go at it? (FWIW, it looked more or less alright to me, but I am no map expert). Thanks, Jayen466 12:50, 25 November 2008 (UTC) Also note Nichalp's comment at NPOV/N regarding another outstanding NPOV concern. Perhaps you could liaise with him, so we get this right? – he knows more about this than I do. Cheers, Jayen466 12:57, 25 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

GOOD JOB SHIBO!! new map is nice!!

Likewise – thanks for your work, Shibo77. Best wishes, Jayen466 02:48, 26 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.

Shibo77, I see you have undone the changes I did to the People's_Republic_of_China_(orthographic_projection) file. Those changes were to maintain a NPOV, and were agreed in the PRC's talk page. Regard to files:

  2. File:Chinese Taipei Paralympic Flag.svg
  3. File:Republic of China Army Flag.svg
  4. File:Naval Jack of the Republic of China.svg
  5. File:Republic of China National Emblem.svg
  6. File:Emblem of the Kuomintang.svg
  7. File:Flag of Chinese Taipei for Olympic games.svg

All the above involve the Blue Sky White Sun design by Sun Yat-sen and Luk Howtung, Chinese revolutionary. In Chinese its official name is 青天白日旗, literery means Clear Sky White Sun Flag. Though the word 青 is the source of confusion among non-Chinese, but any Chinese editor would know that 青天 really refers to Clear Sky, and we all know, Chinese or non-Choinese, the color of the sky is Blue when it is clear. This is where admin Zscout got it wrong, and unfortunately, he seems to be taking a longer than usual break from wikicommons, this is why no one seems to care about the correct color shade.

However, I hope you would dicuss first before you do anymore reverting, than you, Arilang talk 10:35, 11 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Chinese soviet flag

[edit]

Hi,

I just wanted to ask you a question about this image : http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Flag_of_the_Chinese_Soviet_Republic.svg One user asserts that it is wrong because "it should be hammer and sickel", not "axe and sickel". I'm not really convinced by this argument, but thought it could be useful to ask you if you're positive about this image, and if you have a source for it. Also, do you know when this flag was adopted ? Apparently, the soviet republic had two successive flags, and I have a hunch that this one could have been adopted in 1935, after the fall of the Jiangxi soviet (possibly after the long march). Chinese soviet flags

[edit]

Thanks a LOT for your answer, I didn't even dream it would be that complete ! I'll reread it in detail when time permits and try to sort out the mess about the Republic's flags. :) Do you think this flag could be simply the Communist party's flag at the time ??? I saw just yesterday a documentary, and some images featured flags that were definitely sporting those characters, so did exist and was officially used in some capacity. thanks JJ Georges (talk) 09:24, 21 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

PS, could you tell me if I have understood well ? Sorry If I ask again, but it's slightly complicated.
This would be the first national flag ("theoretical")
File:Flag of the Chinese Soviet Republic.svg
First war flag and substitute national flag
Later version of the war flag (when ? In 1935?)
Second national flag
Second war flag
Second substitute national flag/war flag
Central executive commitee
File:Chinese Soviet Republic flag7.jpg
another version of the first war flag
Thanks, that's great ! I'll let the other users at the english wikipedia know about your answers, because right now it's an absolute mess. Although I have no doubt about your expertise on the subject, can I just ask you about precise and written sources ? This would be useful if someone want to double-checks. cheers, JJ Georges (talk) 10:30, 23 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File:Coat_of_arms_of_the_United_Arab_Emirates.svg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Well, this is clear, I ask for the original images. As far as I know, the Republic of Cochinchina did never have a CoA (I wait for the delivery of the flag law for months..), and I saw that Republic of South Vietnam CoA only in an unreliable source.--Antemister (talk) 21:21, 29 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

East Asia map

[edit]

It would be really useful for me to construct geological maps if you have the background map of File:Baselines_of_Eastern_Asia_English.png. Or do you have this kind of background maps of other continents? By background map I mean without the lines and the box at the top. Thanks. YunHuBuxi (talk) 12:01, 10 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Request

[edit]

Hi, I have a request. As I support your and Fry1989's current version, is it okay if you change the color of File:Seal_of_the_President_of_the_Republic_of_Korea.svg to the current color? the gold is very light and the background color is still dark. Thank you. -- Shyoon1 (talk) 22:14, 8 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Arabic world

[edit]

Hello, Shibo77,

would you mind to rework your map on the Arabic speaking world [[2]] ? E. g., Iraq and Morocco, predominantly Arabic, with strong minorities, are not really on the same level with Tchad or Erythrea, where the official status of Arabic is due to cultural and historical reasons, namely ethnic groups with a strong link to Islam and tradition in Arabic education.
