[edit] In need of a map update
I need a map that calls out all the locations of National Register of Historic Places listings in Albany. Start with File:Albany, New York Map.svg, remove all the roads so it looks like File:Albany, New York Map plain.png (might want to upload that separately so we have that map available in the future), and drop some sort of locating shape (a triangle? something similar to the google maps pin point thing? or maybe even an svg thumb tack?) to replace File:Albany, New York Map NRHP.png. Each one of those blue dots needs to be represented. A bigger pointer shape would be good because those dots are way too hard to see. Let me know if this is doable! Thanks! upstateNYer 14:23, 30 July 2011 (UTC)
- Here's plain map svg: File:Albany, New York Map plain.svg. --ZooFari 15:21, 21 August 2011 (UTC)
- Also noticed this, was that something you were looking for? Sorry for the late reply, was on vacation. --ZooFari 15:30, 21 August 2011 (UTC)

Bonjour, je vois que vous avez supprimé la photo du pont de Vernéjoux. Très bien, sauf que j'avais l'autorisation de l'auteur de la photo. Je vous la transmets par un prochain message. Recevez mes salutions Monsieur. MORBIHAN

[edit] Hi Zoofari
Trying give you some time to settle down, idk if you're still busy, but if you aren't, I'm hopping you'd have time to take a jab at this? Hope you're doing well :) Fry1989 eh? 21:30, 1 September 2011 (UTC)
[edit] Deleting pictures
Thanks for deleting the picture I uploaded! If you had looked carefully, you would have seen that I indicated that it was supplied by the US Navy and was public domain.Aeroweanie (talk)
[edit] ATP Synthase image
Hi there, in this discussion about File:ATPsynthase labelled.png I'm not sure why the image was deleted. Could you clarify? I'd like to use it in an article. TimVickers (talk) 16:11, 26 September 2011 (UTC)
[edit] Hi
If you have time, can you fix the font in the following two seals accordingly to their sources? File:Seal of the Senate of Massachusetts.svg and File:Seal of the Governor of Massachusetts.svg and their sources are 1 and 2. Thanks Fry1989 eh? 19:21, 27 September 2011 (UTC)

[edit] Danke, Thanks for Help with text in SVG
Grüß Gott, Zoofari!
It is a great relief for me, that You were able to fix my svg-file File:Desargues on Parallels.svg. It would have been frightfully close to useless in my German article without visible names for the edges. If You have spare time, please mark my question (Village_pump#No_text_in_the_thumbnail_of_a_SVG.) on the "help-desk" as "done", however this works on this wiki. I'm using the commons only for illustrations for articles in the german wikipedia, so I am not really familiar with the technical procedures on commons. As I used a new upload-assistant I even lost my descriptions with this file, I uploaded. Herzliche Grüße aus Deutschland! --KlioKlein (talk) 21:38, 27 October 2011 (UTC)
- You're welcome. For future reference, you can use Commons:Graphics village pump for these cases. --ZooFari 18:43, 30 October 2011 (UTC)
[edit] File:Hihsla-5702.jpg
Hi, you deleted this file,. Why? What licence does my own work lack? --Caygill (talk) 14:54, 20 November 2011 (UTC)
- Hi Caygill. You actually blanked the page and used "Please remove file - re-uploading new version" as the edit summary. --ZooFari 17:37, 20 November 2011 (UTC)
[edit] question
Why are "personal photos" deleted, when there exists such a category for "wikipedians" with many such photos? Also, what is the point of having: File:Image-Siur wikipedia in Jerusalem 2371.JPG, File:Image-Siur wikipedia in Jerusalem 2372.JPG, File:Image-Siur wikipedia in Jerusalem 2373.JPG, File:Image-Siur wikipedia in Jerusalem 2374.JPG and File:Image-Siur wikipedia in Jerusalem N 2370.JPG all on commons? Chesdovi (talk) 11:24, 23 November 2011 (UTC)
- Those files are in use. What are you arguing, if I may ask? --ZooFari 01:43, 24 November 2011 (UTC)
[edit] SVG request
Hi ZooFari. In May this year I requested some work to be done at the Graphic Lab which resulted in you creating File:Universal Express availability.svg and File:Dreamworld Q4U availability.svg for me. I was wondering if you could please create another version of File:Universal Express availability.svg (i.e. same colours) which has the letters of "FL" and is uploaded under the name File:Cedar Fair Fast Lane availibility.svg. I thought I would ask you as you had completed my previous requests perfectly. If you don't want to do it I will just go through the normal process at the Graphics Lab. Kind regards Themeparkgc Talk 22:42, 29 November 2011 (UTC)
- Here you go: File:Cedar Fair Fast Lane availibility.svg. Let me know if this is okay (you can update the description page accordingly). --ZooFari 07:18, 3 December 2011 (UTC)
- Thank you. That's perfect. Themeparkgc Talk 08:36, 3 December 2011 (UTC)
[edit] Need help fixing review templates
Hi! I find it strange that the code is not the same in {{Indafotó review}}, {{LicenseReview}} and {{Panoramioreview}}. Well perhaps panoramioreview does not need to link to the site where the file is found but except from that it would be nice if they were more alike. At the moment it is not possible to mark the 2 first as failed or changed. And it would also be nice if it was possible to add a "|source=not found" or something like that. Do you think you could have a look at that? --MGA73 (talk) 10:13, 10 December 2011 (UTC)
[edit] Restore Image Request
Can you please restore the image that you inappropriately removed from commons Commons:7527_near_snow_shed.jpg, and it's link to its former article on en wiki? Your removal of this image was completely inappropriate, as it was *clearly* marked as GFDL with explicit permission of the content creator, which I obtained myself. This is rogue behaviour. Regards, Fawcett5 (talk) 17:44, 14 December 2011 (UTC)
- Quote: "with permission of the photographer and released to GFDL courtesy of David R. Spencer". Since this shows that the file comes from a third party source, we need permission from David R. Spencer sent to OTRS as evidence for the release. --ZooFari 01:01, 27 December 2011 (UTC)
[edit] Thanks
- Thanks you too!--ZooFari 01:02, 27 December 2011 (UTC)
[edit] Could you check your uploads on en-wiki?
Hi!
I'm doing a raid on en-wiki and is moving a lot of free files to Commons. And I found your uploads. Perhaps you could help check the files - many are now unused. Do you still need them?
My plan was to move all files you do not say "Delete" to. --MGA73 (talk) 16:47, 20 December 2011 (UTC)
- en:File:Ros-21.jpg - overwritten file which is now unused. Not really my call to decide though I suggest deletion (never been useful).
- Delete all these as self:
- en:File:Contribs userpage.png - delete
- en:File:Talk light userpage.png - delete
- en:File:Home userpage.png - delete
- en:File:Bad text SVG.svg - delete
- en:File:Creations banner.svg - delete
- en:File:Trans March logo.svg - delete
- en:File:ZooFaribannertalk.svg - delete
- en:file:Talk button.svg - delete
- en:file:Talk page button.svg - delete
- en:File:Official ZooFari user template2.svg - delete
- en:File:Comet-pond.jpg - delete
- en:File:Aichi Tsushima.svg - delete
- en:File:Bond stretching energy.svg - delete
- en:File:MyTemplateSVG.svg - delete
- en:File:Pouch-snail.JPG - delete
- en:File:Hermit Drinking.jpg - delete
- en:File:Triops eggs.JPG - delete
Everything else is either fair use or files not in use but could be transferred. --ZooFari 02:02, 27 December 2011 (UTC)
[edit] hi
Hope you're enjoying the holidays. Just thought I would mention there are a couple requests in the graphic lab if you're looking for something to play around with. The Puerto Rico one might interest you, since you made their governor's seal. Thanks as always for past assistance. Fry1989 eh? 23:12, 21 December 2011 (UTC)

- Hi. Just mentioning this request again, as you made the first Governor's seal. If you have time of course, but it would be much appreciated. Fry1989 eh? 22:26, 24 January 2012 (UTC)
[edit] Request
Would you be able to take the sign on the bottom-right of the image at right and make it into an SVG? It's the NO DURIANS sign. Let's call it a $1000 fine. Thanks! upstateNYer 05:45, 23 December 2011 (UTC)
- Hmm you want the file name to be '$1000 fine' or fill in the red square with it or both? --ZooFari 00:57, 27 December 2011 (UTC)
- Fill in the red space with the fine. Call the file whatever you'd like. Happy new year! upstateNYer 09:15, 3 January 2012 (UTC)
- File:No durians.svg. Let me know if you need anything else. Happy new years to you as well! --ZooFari 01:13, 4 January 2012 (UTC)

[edit] File:Coat of arms Algeria (1830-1962).svg
I know that that file is heavily used... Most wikipedian believe that any file on commons is correct, but of course also here such hoax symbols are uploaded from time to. The situation is clear in that case; you do not need a dozen of discussions, as any single use of that file is not correct. Delinking is a job for the CommonsDelinker.--Antemister (talk) 08:08, 2 January 2012 (UTC)
- Commons is not responsible for making those decisions though. If they are in use, then that's their problem. If you strongly believe that the image is a hoax and is being used wrongly by the projects, then you should take the risk of delinking them. We can't do controversial things like that with CommonsDelinker. Once the file is delinked, you can renominate for deletion. --ZooFari 20:41, 2 January 2012 (UTC)
- Someone already noted it in the description that it is fake, and I did not find any reference to it in my sources. This is not "controversial thing", but simple housekeeping. Delinking one usage of the file is accepted, I did that several times with other files, but that's a boring work for a bot.--Antemister (talk) 21:32, 2 January 2012 (UTC)
- You may find someone willing to do it if you'd like, so they'll be responsible for it. --ZooFari 21:52, 2 January 2012 (UTC)

[edit] Heart diagram ref
Hi. I wasn't sure how closely you were following your nomination of the heart diagram. One of the refs is a broken link. Any chance you could provide a working link to whatever that reference was? Thanks. Makeemlighter (talk) 01:22, 10 January 2012 (UTC)
- Hello. I've only had time to take quick glances but I have now updated the references and fixed gradients as suggested by Kaldari. I had no success finding the second source, but I believe it was a diagram in which I based the shape off of. The National Heart Lung and Blood Institute sources remain and are more important and credible. --ZooFari 05:13, 10 January 2012 (UTC)
[edit] File:Heart diagram-en.svg
It seems to display fine in both Wikimedia RSVG and Adobe SVG plug-in, so if it displays incorrectly in another program, it's probably that program which has a problem. I gave the SVG code a light going-over, but am not sure that I fixed any specific problem... AnonMoos (talk) 02:50, 11 January 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks. The problem exists here (when clicking on the svg on Firefox).
Not sure if you see or if the rendering error exists in other browsers. --ZooFari 02:55, 11 January 2012 (UTC)- Looks like it is to blame Firefox. Safari has crappy rendering and presents a much worse rendering of the diagram. I'm not sure why the error exists on Firefox since it is only a simple shape, but at least it renders fine with Wikimedia RSVG. Thanks for taking a look. --ZooFari 03:09, 11 January 2012 (UTC)
[edit] Early Localization Native Americans NY.svg
Dear ZooFari. Very nice overview. There's a typo: Should be "Lake Champlain" and not "Champlian". Regards, en.wikipedia-User:BjKa 194.138.39.52 13:09, 17 January 2012 (UTC)
Fixed, thanks for the notice. --ZooFari 01:45, 18 January 2012 (UTC)
[edit] A challenge
Here's one that could be fun and challenging. It's not super important that this be vectorized, but it is a great graphic, and its size should make vectorization easier than if it were small. Take a stab at it if you have the time and interest: File:Visualization-of-How-a-Bill-Becomes-a-Law Mike-WIRTH.jpg. upstateNYer 05:11, 19 January 2012 (UTC)
- Looks like something interesting to work with. How precise do you want it to be with the original? I could easily remake a version of my own rather than vectorizing by directly tracing it (eg removing title, remove text-wrapping etc). Let me know what you think. --ZooFari 22:37, 19 January 2012 (UTC)
[edit] User:SreeBot
Why is User:SreeBot blocked without even a notice? Actually, User:SreeBot is not a bot, but an alternate account that I use to transfer images from Commons. It is not automated, but semi-automated just like Wikipedia:FTCG. Even if it were a Bot, shouldn't be the bot owner notified? --Sreejith K (talk) 05:49, 21 January 2012 (UTC)
- I apologize. I was told that you were notified but didn't think it was days ago. If you are supervising the script, please recognize the standards for transferring files. The author field is required in the description template even if you place it in the source [1]. Also, the licenses found in images like File:Gas-light-coke-lorries.jpg is very dubious and requires verification and translation to one of the existing PD templates available on Commons. The bot may be unblocked according to decision made at Commons:Bots/Requests/SreeBot. --ZooFari 06:52, 21 January 2012 (UTC)
- I have replied on the Bots/Requests/SreeBot page. Can you please discuss this over there and sort it out. I think blocking the bot is not fair from the reasons I have heard so far. --Sreejith K (talk) 07:35, 21 January 2012 (UTC)
[edit] If you are interested... illustration needed
I'm not sure which you visit more: English Wikipedia or Commons, but I just left a message for you on enWiki. I'll watch for your reply there. Best, – VisionHolder « talk » 04:09, 7 February 2012 (UTC)
[edit] Rights request
Can you please grant me my requested right at Requests for Rights? I've addressed what is so far the only concerned raised about me having this right, and have two supports. I shouldn't have to wait over 3 weeks for a decision to be made, it's clear that the usual granting admins are avoiding my request, because usually decisions are handed out within a few days, not nearly 4 weeks. Fry1989 eh? 23:38, 7 February 2012 (UTC)
[edit] Quick SVG request
If you have a minute, could you take this on? Looks like there's a lot of stagnant SVG requests over at the graphics lab. Thanks. upstateNYer 03:36, 13 February 2012 (UTC)
