No Canal de Moçambique, o país tem vários vizinhos, nomeadamente as Comores, Madagáscar, a possessão francesa de Mayotte e o departamento também francês de Reunião e as suas dependências Juan de Nova, Bassas da Índia e Ilha Europa.

Jina la nchi imetokana na Kisiwa cha Msumbiji iliyokuwa boma na makao makuu ya Ureno kwenye pwani la Afrika ya Mashariki.
